Why? The opportunity to experience the live painting artwork by Bryan "Prolifik" Hickman, artist and creator of the Tuskegee Airman mural on the side wall of Coda Rouge. The added ambiance of Singer's Lounge, Phebe West, singing lovely, familiar tunes. And last but not least, the intimacy of meeting Coda Rouge chef, Sachiko Tashiana, who trained under renowned chef Wolfgang Puck. And all hands on deck from the chef's family, who helped make the evening special. Finally, the presentation of each of the five courses and the food was superb. Now to the stuff that wasn't as good from my husband's and my perspective. The fries weren't too bad. The soup that my husband got was a bit odd and more like a cup of gravy with chicken and spinach. It was something like the creamy chicken and spinach soup. It didn't taste too bad but was a really thick consistency which more resembled gravy. My husband did not like his open faced roast beef sandwich. It was extremely dry and didn't taste good. The brown gravy on that was also an odd consistency and didn't help enough to make the roast beef edible. He had to primarily eat the fries and bread. It's a super old school diner. Breakfast may be better.
