Last year, I had upper eyelid surgery with Dr. Choi. I have no complaints about how kind the staff was; they were very nice, but sometimes it felt like they were just being polite because it's their job to treat patients well. My eyes look good overall, except for the scars. I have very visible, thick scars that literally look like railroad tracks. They're keloid-like and hard to ignore. He did perform laser treatment afterward, but the scars are still very noticeable. I've honestly been hesitant to talk to him about a revision for the scars, but now I've started searching for other doctors. Every time l brought up my concerns to Dr. Choi's office they were nice about it, but I felt like they were trying to brush it off, hoping l'd just forget. But I can't forget. It's my eyes. I see these scars every single day. Even people I know who had the same procedure tell me how bad my scarring looks. I've seen their scars, and they're barely noticeable just thin, faint white lines, nothing like what I ended up with. The doctors I consulted with say the same thing about my scars. -Kay (I saw Dr. Choi's response, and I don't know if I can reply directly here on Yelp, so I'm editing my review to add more context. Before doing my surgery, I told the staff that I had recently seen a woman who had the same procedure, and her scars were very noticeable. Doctor: 5/5 Staff: 5/5 Pain: 0.5/5 Consultation is free (at the time of my appointment) Procedures: masseter botox, rhinoplasty, filler, PICO laser, sylfirmx Dr. Choi specializes in the natural look and goes through great steps to answer your questions and concerns. Unlike other facilities, he is very conservative with his treatment, which I prefer. I first did my masseter botox and was recommended only 15 units per side. Other places were telling me to get 30 on each side. The botox helped the TMJ and slimmed the face from biting down too much. I got Xeomin. I think it's about $9-13 a unit depending on the promotion. My mom gets this for her eyes. Liz has been doing our botox since. She's such a sweet girl and so caring. Most importantly, she is always careful to give you the natural look and mark the right areas to work on. She checks on me and my mom. Phi books my appointments and always drops by to say hi to me and my mom. Jenny does the numbing a few times. She's super welcoming and edgy. She brings great good to the events. I also got a rhinoplasty with Dr. Choi. Phi and Liz were absolutely amazing. Phi was the patient coordinator and very quick to answer the phone and any questions. The communication and organization were so smooth, friendly, and timely. I've never met any other patient coordinator who's so easy to talk to. My mom and I both really like Dr. Choi. He's down to earth and detail-oriented. He gave me honest opinions and followed professional protocols. He made sure I'm getting the natural look, where no one can tell I got work done but him. Phi showed me tons of pictures for inspiration, so I went for the most natural one. I love the subtlety of the work. Liz was there the day when I signed documents and removed sutures. She gave me time to read the documents and made sure she was answering all my questions. She and Phi were both there in the operating room to help choose the most natural look. I went under local anesthesia. It did not hurt. I felt a little pressure on the nose, but I fell asleep lol. There was something put on my face that smelled like banana leaves. I got cold eye patches and asked for new cold eye patches during the operation. My mom asked Celine to check on me every 30 min or hour, so Celine came in to check and let her know I was OK. I hung out with the girls in the office afterward and went home. This is the cool part. I took regular Tylenol once the first day and that was it. There was no pain until the suture removal. I have no idea why the recovery didn't hurt at all before or after. I mean like 0/5. I think local anesthesia worked well on me. I cleaned around with alcohol. So I was hesitant about the silicon and ear cartilage because I didn't know how that would feel. The nose just absorbed the silicon and felt really natural, probably better feeling than getting grafting on the bridge. The ear cartilage was diced to make a nice tip. I felt the ear cartilage was probably the one that caused more discomfort than the nose. That was OK too after 3 weeks. The ear didn't feel weird after. The suture removal hurt because I got the alar done too. But Liz held my hand the whole time. The office called me during the recovery to make sure I was OK, probably more than any other office did. When I was there, everyone in the office checked if I was OK. My mom didn't like at the beginning that I got a rhinoplasty and didn't like plastic surgery. She didn't like anyone touching my face, even for a facial haha. After I got the rhino, she changed her mind and thought about a "painless" facelift, so settled with laser, botox, and fillers instead. I paid about $8k for my nose procedure. I work from home, so I took a week off and caught up on sleep. A little less than a year out, no one can tell I got my nose done, not even my aunts and cousins. My parents and sister were so impressed by the natural result. They all love the subtlety and how the nose bring my eye space closer. Dr. Choi and Liz did my mom's PICO laser for 10-11 sessions. I think it was $3k. She did it for the spots caused by chemo. Everyone was very nice. She felt her chemo spots were hard to treat. They improved after the sessions, but probably would need more work to completely go away. She got the botox for her eyes and will be getting some light fillers on some other areas. Everyone went way beyond to make sure everything has gone well and keep us entertained too. I felt that everyone here is like a friend. An added bonus is the handling of money. I noticed it was very smooth and documented well. Can't say the same about hospitals. Communication is top notch. Location is very safe in a hospital area. That was important for my mom. read more

I am writing this review after 2+ years. Im doing this for my young daughter who has been suffering depression since. Dr Choi owes my daughter an apology and need to refund our money. He performed a Non-Incisional Double Eyelid Suture but made one eye bigger than the other. One was a fox eye with inner double lid while the other was a different shape with outer double lid. 6 months later he insisted that an Epicanthoplasty would even out the size difference but it didn't. Another 6 months later, left scars between her eyes and he cut the left corner deeper than the other exposing the inner corner tear duct more! The 2nd procedure did nothing to correct the first procedure. He offered to take her under the knife the 3RD TIME but I REFUSED and demanded a refund so I can get her eyes corrected by an experienced plastic surgeon but his front desk girl told me that Dr Choi said NO and we never heard back from them, EVER. How fake of those front desk girls to pretend they care and never to call back to check up on my young daughter. I didn't write a review sooner in hopes that Dr Choi would make things right but he never did. It's been over 2 years now since the first procedure and her eyes got worse. The smaller eye's suture came completely loose. She uses eye glue to make it even. My young daughter now suffers depression. I often heard her screaming and crying in her room the first year. I had to pull her out of school and have her do homeschool until we can repair her eyes. My once happy and outgoing daughter can't look at anyone in the face when she's talking to them and has to wear heavy eye makeup to cover up the difference. I understand that even doctors can make a mistake so all I expected was a refund and an apology but this doctor simply ignored us. I will be filing a report with the medical board as well. I came here to get rid of my keloid that was growing the past 7 years. 1st injection has helped it not look so angry hahaha. Its slowly flattening out. Its been past 6 weeks and i am getting my 2nd injection. Hopefully its gone by the 4th or 5th shot. So far so good! All the ladies there are so genuinely nice.
