I am now 6 years post-surgery and I'm not sure what went wrong. Dr. Yoo did explain to me that he couldn't guarantee the issue would be 100% fixed or that the issue wouldn't recur. However, he did do a turbinate reduction and a week after surgery I was hospitalized for complication with my antibiotics and CT scans showed that I still had an enlarged concha bullosa and a deviated septum. It has grown more severe over the years so I am not sure if the nasal tip was insufficiently supported or if the surgery wasn't aggressive enough for my case? My breathing is pretty much back to square one where I have a large obstruction on one side and a deviated septum with valve collapse on the same side. Then again, I knew the risks going in and consented to this possibility. Overall, I would say he is definitely more of a cosmetic surgeon than an ENT bc ENTs do CT scans prior to operating and focus on function over aesthetics read more

I had a consultation with Dr. Yoo that I ultimately found very disappointing. From the beginning, the interaction did not feel very collaborative or thorough for a cosmetic surgery consultation. What stood out most was that I was not asked any questions about my goals, concerns, or preferences. I expected a more guided conversation where the surgeon would take time to understand what I was looking for, but instead I felt like I had to lead the discussion myself. During the consultation, I was often met with brief responses and frequent transitions to "any more questions" immediately after answering, which made it difficult to fully process the information being shared. Because of that, I often had to push for more detail. His answers were generally brief, and I found myself asking multiple follow-up questions just to get basic clarity. The consultation also felt rushed, and there was limited effort to slow down or ensure I fully understood what was being explained or why certain recommendations were being made. I recently had gotten lip filler from Dr. Yoo and there is an air bubble-like pocket of superficially placed filler on one side of my lower lip. I had to research what had occurred in order to realize that it was not swelling, but however really poorly placed lip filler. After paying over 1k for both the consultation and procedure all my expectations were terribly unmet. He gave a poor experience, not clearly addressing the desired outcome, and did not give any instructions for aftercare. After the procedure was done he basically just said "you can do whatever you want" when I asked what to do for any aftercare. I left the clinic with blood still smeared all over my lips. I highly regret paying over $1k just to receive poorly placed filler and a poor experienced when I know I could have gotten a much better result for half the price at a medspa. read more

I made sure to call this office ahead of time to ask for a pricing range for a specific surgery I was interested in before booking a consult with Dr. Yoo. I went ahead with the consult less than a week after calling in and was honestly ready to schedule and move forward. But the experience with the front desk completely changed that. Right after the consult, and just a few days after being given a price range over the phone, I followed up to get the official quote and pay for the surgery. That's when I was told the price had gone up $3,000 above the highest end of the range I was originally given. I asked to speak with an office manager to understand what happened and was told she was "too busy" to speak with me. I called and emailed multiple times over the course of two weeks and didn't hear anything back until today. Still, I wasn't able to speak with a manager, they wouldn't honor the original price range, and no refund was offered for the consult. I was also told this is their only line of communication, even after surgery, which made me really uncomfortable. If something came up post-op and I needed help, I can't imagine waiting two weeks for a response. I went in for a breast explant consultation and he does not have a good bedside manner; he didn't even knock before coming into my room. He does not follow best practice for explants and wouldn't do an En Bloc removal and clearly wasn't confident in his ability with this type of reconstruction. The office was supposed to send me an email with the estimate but they never did. I didn't pursue it because I knew he wasn't the one I wanted to work with so I have no idea how much he'd have charged. I got chin & jawline submental liposuction and earlobe reconstruction done by Dr. Yoo. Happy to report that I am still very happy with my results (4.5 months later)! I highly recommend Dr. Yoo! My initial consultation was for my earlobe and chin. My earlobe was stretched out from wearing heavy earrings over time (never wore gauges though). He explained this to me before my surgery and the different ways he could approach the stitching to give me the best results.) The incision point below my chin is also barely visible. Although I can't see the incision points behind my earlobes (for my jawline liposuction), there used to be a bump there but I can no longer feel them. I had been contemplating on getting a tummy tuck with liposuction for a couple of years and I had gained weight and when I set up my consultation with him I loved how real he was. He told me he could do the tummy tuck but if I wanted better results I could lose 15 more pounds. My starting weight was 220 lbs and I went down to 180 before my surgery and now at 170. Like many yelpers here, I researched and reviewed many surgeons in the area and was looking for someone who would help me revise my nose to look more natural to my face and not encourage the latest trend. From what I gathered from him, the procedure wound up posing unexpected challenges (just based on how messed up my internal nose structure was)---and I feel immense relief that it was Dr. Yoo conducting the surgery, rather than anyone else, because I can't imagine that most would have been equipped with the skills to restructure my nose in the way that he did (and I can actually breathe properly now). Hello potential patients of Dr Yoo, It's been about 4 months since I received my septoplasty and lower blepharoplasty surgery (removal of bags under the eyes), and I couldn't be happier. What I appreciated most about Dr Yoo was his transparency and recommendations on how to avoid complications. (I smoke vape, yes I know it's bad). He also threw in a special which was nice since part of the surgery came out of pocket. I intentionally waited to leave a review because I wanted to see how things would develop over time. My sleep has improved tremendously and my meditations are that much better. I highly recommend septoplasty for those who constantly have a stuffy nose and do NOT recommend using Affrin! I've became dependent on it and it started to impact my personal life. Additionally, since I was going into surgery anyway, I thought I'd treat myself with a lower blepharoplasty. I constantly received comments like 'you look tired' or 'did you get enough sleep' which led me to Dr Yoo. I had a breast lift surgery with Dr. Yoo after having consulted with several other doctors for the last few years. And I am glad I chose Dr. Yoo 1. He's honest and communicative: no sugar coasting, no guarantee, he will provide you with very detail and honest disclosures, both verbally and in writing. 2. He's very skillful, detail and experienced: I consulted with a 60+ yo doctor because of his experience, a 30+ yo doctor because of his recently trained skills and knowledge. Dr. Yoo is right in between :) he's very skillful, detail oriented, has great technique and done enough surgeries to have good experience. 3. He has a great support team: Yes, it's important to have a great team of nurses and anesthesiologist as well to make a successful surgery (I cancelled one scheduled surgery in 2018 with another doctor because of his rude nurses). 4. Post Op experience was also great. You probably would not find another doctor who is as caring as Dr. Yoo. My friend picked me up at noon after the surgery and I didn't remember anything because of the anesthesia. Dr Yoo called me later that same day to check on me and make sure I was ok; he reminded me of how to care for the incisions as I probably forgot everything due to the anesthesia. At least I still remembered who he was at that point. lol 5. I'm healing very well. My scars are flat and thin. A part of it is because I ate very healthy, mostly vegetables, fruits, and some fishes... I started to eat more meats recently; but during my first 2 months I ate mostly vegetables and some fruits.
