Updating this review since I have now had a recurrence now (June 2024) around 3 years after I had the co2 ablation procedure done at Dr Ghozlands LA office (August 2021). I had a recurrence 1 year after the procedure and came in to have it checked by dr ghozland and he thought it wasn't concerning. He said he didn't feel it at all. That cyst eventually went away on its own through at home baths and hot compresses. Now that I've had another recurrence, I am moving through the process to have the gland completely removed/excised. Looking back, I wish I had just done the excision then rather than the co2 procedure and put my money towards a true permanent solution. The constant worry of the issue coming back isn't worth it. The co2 procedure may have slowed down my recurrences but did not resolve the issue. I've recently read the stories of many other women in online forums who have had their cyst recur after the co2 ablation procedure as well. I hope this review helps someone do more research and consider all of their options before deciding with procedure to go with. read more

Please read this before choosing this doctor. What should have been a routine procedure ended up turning into a nightmare. The results left me physically and emotionally devastated. But what made it even worse was how I was treated afterward. In the beginning, the doctor came across as kind and professional. But when complications happened--which they absolutely did--he disappeared. Instead of taking ownership or showing any real concern, I was met with indifference. I felt like I was being treated as a number, not a person going through something traumatic. I was left waiting for hours at multiple post-op appointments, often in pain and bleeding, with no updates or support. Then, in the middle of my recovery, the doctor left for a long vacation without arranging proper care. I was told to go see someone else. No backup. No follow-up. Just abandonment. When I tried to speak up about how I was treated, I was called a liar and accused of being abusive. That hurt even more. I never disrespected the staff--I was just desperate, scared, and in pain. I explained that my frustration wasn't toward them, but toward the doctor who left me like this. I'm sharing this not out of malice, but because I wish someone had warned me. This review isn't about blaming someone for a medical risk--it's about how poorly I was treated when things didn't go according to plan. I'm still living with the physical and emotional consequences, and all I wanted was compassion, honesty, and accountability. I understand what it means to be a patient. I do NOT recommend Dr. Ghozland. I came to him based on good reviews, and left with a botched surgery, so I feel it's my duty to warn others. I believe Dr. Ghozland made a mistake during my surgery. When I brought this up with him in several follow up appointments post-op, he gaslit me and dismissed my concerns. I think my now permanent injury could have been prevented if he had listened to me after the operation and adjusted my sutures. Now, he changed my anatomy leading to a loss of sensation. Research the risks. Dr. Ghozland and his team didn't mention any risks when asked during the consultation, however some of the procedures he offers are not simple and are prone to life-altering complications. His front office uses sales tactics which I've never experienced at any other medical office. I would do anything to have my pre-op functioning body back. For background, I've gotten bartholin cyst since I was 13 and I am now 17 and they reoccur twice a year. I've seen countless clinics, urgent care, OBGYNs,emergency room, but they've always just prescribed me antibiotics. They would get infected and turn into an abscess everytime no matter what I did. It would get so bad to the point where it became excruciating to walk. I got so fed up because the pain was unbearable until the abscess drained on its own. That's when I found Dr. Ghozland and his CO2 laser treatment when doing my research on bartholin cysts. After visiting his website and reading reviews, that's when I decided to book an appointment. Dr. Ghozland and his staff were amazing in helping me treat my bartholin cyst. He first checked the area and then told me everything I needed to know about the procedure. Dr Ghozland went out of his way to do the procedure for me because it was originally suppose to be a consultation, and since I lived far and had school. I felt so welcomed, comfortable, and heard during my consultation and procedure. As for the procedure it took a little more than an hour to do and wasn't too painful. The only painful part was the laser which only lasted a few minutes. The rest wasn't too bad as it was under local anesthesia. Him and his staff were so patient and always made sure I was comfortable and okay after each step. For aftercare, his staff provided me cooling packs, pads, and detailed instructions for what to do when I get home. It's been two days after the procedure and so far so good, no bleeding just a little soreness when walking. His staff prescribed me antibiotics and helped me book another appointment this week for a check-up. Dr. Ghozland is truly an expert in this field and won't leave your questions unanswered. If you regularly suffer these cysts like I did (I always believed they would go away on their own), I really recommend visiting Dr. Ghozland, you deserve relief and don't let this condition control your life. read more

I just wanted to say thank you to Dr. Ghozland and his entire team for being actual angels. They were all so sweet, patient and most of all very skilled at the work that they do. I had known about this very specific surgery that Dr. Ghozland performs with a CO2 laser to remove a bartholin cyst for about 2 years prior, since I had been researching what this cyst even was that I had which just kept reoccurring. So I already knew that I was in good hands, but Dr. Ghozland far exceeded my expectations. Not only is he an extremely skilled surgeon, he is just very humble and even advised me to explore other types of surgery to remove the cyst. However, I knew that his specific method of using a CO2 laser to drain the cyst and laser the walls of the duct of the bartholin gland has the highest chance of the cyst not reoccurring. They also draw your blood and inject the PRP into the area to help with the healing. I don't usually even write reviews but for anyone that is dealing with the same problem that I was I hope me including all the intimate details of surgery eases their anxiety, as this was one of the reasons I waited so long to follow through with it. The actual surgery was completely painless, I was prepared to feel at least some pain even with all of the numbing but I did not feel anything. Dr. Ghozland really couldn't have performed this surgery more perfectly and he truly has a gift and the most pleasant bedside manner. To the nurse that held my hand during the surgery, thank you for everything, you are such a sweetheart. I wanted to write a review right after my surgery just because of how amazing and calming the entire experience was but I wanted to wait to heal first so I can include everything. I can't speak for other patients that have had this surgery, but for me I didn't even take a single ibuprofen for any of the recovery as it was that painless. The only thing I felt was just some pressure in that area for the first few days since it was swollen for about a week. The only type of pain I really even had was just some mild pulling sensation when I was over exerting myself at work or when working out but that had subsided after about a month. The first couple weeks you should be resting and only doing light work and I had no pain at all during that time. Since the walls of the duct were lasered there will be a giant hole there which at first scared me but that is normal since the area is still healing and after about 2 months it shrunk about 80%, but trust the process because it will get smaller every week until it heals. For everything to heal completely takes about 3 months and I am at 2 1/2 months now and couldn't be more pleased with how well everything healed. I can't even find the scar where the cyst was drained and stitched back up. I am so happy that I went through with this surgery because the final result is absolutely perfect. I'm so thankful that I chose Dr. Ghozland and he has set the bar so high, I will refer anyone I know to him. Thank you again for everything read more

After 2 1/2 years of me living in complete misery from a procedure that was malpractice I have decided that my daily break downs need to be shared. I am born and raised in Santa Monica. Same with my parents. My mom has seen Dr.Dubin since before I was born and he was her OBGYN when I was born. After he retired he recommended his clients to DR.Ghozland. My family takes healthcare seriously and we are very loyal and trusting. Currently I am 28 years old. When I was 25 my Dr. retired and sent me to Dr.Ghozland. LOVED HIM! I can't even express how sweet and soft his touch is and his bed side manners were great! I felt safe in his care. My 26th birthday was in September and I had been living with severe pain and was having massive hormone issues. I was training for the LA marathon and had already ran 2 half marathons and couldn't understand why my body was shutting down. Needless to say I know my body and knew something was wrong. JULY BEFORE MY 26TH BIRTHDAY Of course I was panicking. After years of trying to figure out why I couldn't perform my job as a hairstylist when I was in the best shape of my life and with my insurance about to run out, I turned to Ghozland for help. DR.GHOZLAND told me that we needed to perform a Laparoscopy to find out how much endometriosis was in my Uterus so it could be removed. PRE OP After my pre op weeks prior my physician told me that my protein levels were high in my urine. After being told that my opportunity to get pregnant was slim to none of course protection was not my main concern. She never pregnancy tested me even though she was confused about the amount of protein in my blood. We laughed AND she told me that she would go ahead and run a test. NEVER HAPPENED SUGERY DAY I decided to go into Dr.Ghozlands private practice surgical office instead of St.Johns. I was never urine tested. I told the nurse that I was late on my period and that I'm alway's on time every month. She stuck me in a room with a curtain dividing me and a woman who was getting some sort of plastic surgery done. The nurse told her that her pregnancy test came back negative before both bursting into laughter... This was because the woman's tubes were tied and clearly she could not get pregnant... Really funny... TRUST YOUR GUT I knew I was pregnant. I called the physician to see if she actually ran a pregnancy test, I left and never got a response. I walked into the room knowing something was off before they strapped me down and knocked me out with Anesthesia. WHY DIDNT I GET MY TEST RESULTS READ TO ME!???? After the procedure Ghozland told me he found PCOS and gave me support groups on why living with endo and pcos is so difficult especially for women who want to become mothers. SEVEN DAYS LATER EVERY DAY I had morning sickness. Literally throwing up and my stitches were pulling so hard. I called Dr.Ghozlands office and told them something was very wrong and I thought I was pregnant. Finally 7 days later living in agony I rescheduled my Salon work day and went straight to CVS TO GET A TEST. I WAS PREGNANT! Blood tests after blood tests to see my HCG levels which is refered to as the pregnancy hormone. This is the most accurate way to tell how far along you are. Tests results came in. My blood tests stated that I was 6 1/2 weeks pregnant. ULTRASOUND DAY. The day I was supposed to come into receive my ultrasound DR.Ghozland decided to call out sick. I had a foreign lady sticking me with a rod when I truly wanted my Dr. there after such a stressful endeavour, Let me remind you my insurance was ending in 3 weeks because of my 26th birthday. ON my ultrasound day she said I was 5 1/2 weeks and there was no heart beat. Which contradicts the blood test I got a week and a half before. DR GHOZLAND COMP'd THE DNC OF MY BABY AFTER PERFORMING SURGERY ON ME WHEN I WAS PREGNANT. After being out of the salon for almost a month because of the recovery and sickness of both surgeries my finances where never in a place that I could take action. In fact it caused me and my long time boyfriend extreme depression because we just never got the option, after being told getting pregnant was slim too none. Of course I wanted it all behind me. BUT WE SHOULD'VE BEEN GRANTED A CHOICE. After getting my happiness back on a normal frequency, dealing with the health issues that followed after two surgeries back to back. (even little things like my hair falling out because of being put under.) I went back to Ghozland because he was the only person who had literally opened me up surgerically. I told you I am loyal. They have a new laser hair removal and beauty department administered by a Registered Nurse called Tania. I don't know about you but when it comes to my sensitive areas - I want a professional dealing with my skin and the equipment! The office is gorgeous - clean and professional - staffed with sweet people. The office manager - Deenie (spelling?) was very helpful. The machine they use for the laser hair removal was brand new and top of the line. The pain was much less than other places I have been before - because of the quality of the machine. I recently came in for a procedure and couldn't be more happy with not only the final results, but my experience as a whole. I did some casual research online before settling on Dr. Ghozland largely due to his educational approach and empathetic demeanour. Having Ericka by my side was simply icing on the cake. She's a doll and even helped schedule an appointment a week after my surgery when I was probably just being paranoid and sensitive and knew the only thing that would make me feel better is seeing both of them to tell me I was healing just fine. I have been suffering for four years from a recurring condition that required outpatient surgery to immediately resolve- had to go to the ER mostly to get any type of pain relief and after so many procedures, I started to look for other treatment options outside of what was prescribed to me. After years of searching for this new laser treatment, scouring the internet and trying in vain to contact the source of the clinical trials I found on the NIH site located in Italy, just last month I found Ghozland's info in an online forum while casually searching online. I couldn't believe that I found someone in the USA to perform CO2 laser surgery, but not only that he has the best reviews and has an impressive background to boot- plus he's a very nice person in general. I flew here from DC this wk just to see him- I'm staying for 10 days with my parents. I had a pre op exam yesterday and had my surgery this morning. Everything was so smooth, he and his staff answered all my questions and on top of that, they were all wonderfully accommodating and so very kind. Bedside manners on fleek fr!!! Lol suffice to say, I will be posting his info online to every single forum I can. It's horrific that in 2018 women have to suffer antiquated treatments bc doctors are too scared or lazy to learn a new treatment that can significantly improve quality of life. I even went to the top OBGYN at Johns Hopkins- she was cold, dismissive, and her bedside manner was horrid. The fact that she's globally renowned made the experience sting that much more. Women are being injured during child birth, many times those injuries can be prevented or treated early enough that the damage to a woman's genitals and reproductive system is minimal. The problem in our medical care system is that women are being sent home from the hospital/birth center after a vaginal birth not being properly checked for vaginal/perineal tears, and if so are very poorly "patched up". When we complain of abnormal symptoms are OB's are telling us it's all normal. It's all part of childbirth. Well they are wrong. Not only was I a victim of an OB that unnecessarily gave me a perineal tear, he also poorly patched it up, and after months of it not healing properly he resourced to give me more stitches on skin that was already healing open. Total nightmare and total horror. FAST FORWARD/ months later and I find Dr. Ghozland! A kind and very caring doctor. He was able to fix that problem with the minimal amount of pain possible. I came into his office feeling like a total failure, and left feeling better about myself physically and emotionally. FAST FORWARD/ 3 years later. Second child birth. And I'm being treated for more damage that went undiagnosed following the birth of my second child. I do not trust any other doctor with my lady parts. Our maternity health care system in America needs doctors that cares about their patients. We are people, and not random pieces of broken skin that gets patched up with minimal detail and effort. If you are looking for an OB/GYN that genuinely cares for his patients, and is incredibly skilled at what he does, look no further. Dr. Ghozland is the one. Not only will he treat you with kindness, and respect- He actually listens and validated your concerns, something that many other doctors just brush off! I strongly advise all women to stay clear of the doctor and his staff. I came here for a routine check-up on a cyst I had on my right ovary. During the extremely uncomfortable ultrasound with Dr. Ghozland, he told me that the cyst on my right ovary was gone but that I had a new one on my left ovary which was approximately 5cm long. When I asked him what my treatment options were (since a 5cm cyst is quite large & worrisome), he replied with surgery. He then advised me to come for a second check-up with the ultrasound technician in the same week. During my second visit with the ultrasound technician (also located in his practice) I was hoping for more answers and details about the new cyst. The technician had another female doctor shadowing her for the day - which was not an issue for me - but the visit was extremely uncomfortable. I told both of them that Dr. Ghozland had done a lot ultrasound earlier in the week & informed me of a 5cm cyst & that I wanted to get my ovaries looked at for location and proper estimate for the size of the cyst. During the ultrasound, the technicians phone started ringing and when she went to quiet it, she dropped it on the ground (whilst having the ultrasound equipment inside of me), she then proceeded to bend down and pick her phone up FROM OFF the ground, all the while having the ultrasound 'wand' literally inside of my uterus. I was extremely uncomfortable & extremely shocked, in my experience doctors/technicians do not get distracted while they are performing a procedure on a patient (esp when she is exposed and there is an instrument inside her). However, the appointment continued and both the shadowing doctor & technician told me that I did not have a 5cm cyst on my ovary & that they do not know why Dr Ghozland told me that I did. They said that both my ovaries looked healthy & that I had no major health concerns. Although I was relieved, I do not understand why an 'experienced' doctor is so inept at reading a simple ultrasound and how he thinks it's okay to give a patient incorrect medical information + advice. Needless to say, I will never be coming back here again and advise all women to stay away. read more

This place is seriously a joke. Went their for my first apt with Dr Ghozland for an IUD. The apt probably lasted 4 minutes total and I got charged $250 for that. I was waiting to hear back from them when they will have it ready for me but never heard back. With all the covid situation I postponed this procedure and I am now calling back to ask for a new appointment and I am being told "moving forward Dr Ghozland will only accept CASH payment and will no longer accept insurances!!! Only cash payment for medical services? If someone can explain to me what is going on with this new protocol? Why only Cash payment? read more
