So, The Wildwood. Assisted living, Senior living (whatever we call it now) is a round the clock Groundhog Day quest to keep compromised geriatric residents alive and, well, thriving. This work is not for sissies. The average Target cashier makes more money. The office temp has better hours. The staff and management here at The Wildwood have choices to work where it is not life and death decisions. We have a loved one (LO) here and while there have been a few hiccups, each one was addressed and corrected. Our LO is always clean, always respected, always very well fed, always cared for and each person calls her by name with care....she matters. They have all the current systems in the apartments to keep your LO safe and stable. They endeavor this place feel like home...and it does! They don't take Medicare, so sadly I am sure that's why all the personal attention. But, if mom or grandad struggles at home and u can fund TW living...do it. The best move we made, hard as it was, was to move LO out of her beloved home....The Wildwood is the next best thing. They sure try and often succeed for delicious, fresh and fun and clean. In this business with underpaid caregivers and turnover the norm, that is good. So, it always comes down to people...and training. How much to invest in workers who turn over so quickly? The one area that is crucial where there is room for growth at TW is training care partners...and They do. Often. But they earn their 5 stars here not for perfection, but for their near perfect systems and oversights and management that keep LO safe as possible, well cared for and loved.

I'd work evenings and 12 hour days on the weekends besides my other two jobs. I thought of the residents more as my grandparents than residents. Unfortunately, the supervisor at the time did not take kindly to my suggestion of changing the menus that rotated back and forth every week. I felt heartbroken when after two years I had no other choice but to quit and the residents hated it when I left. I enjoyed the time I spent there though and still have so many fond memories.

The techs and group leaders are definitely knowledgeable, they share their story with you their addiction they had and that means alot , instead of having someone look at you that has never been there ,everything comes from experience there and that helps alot . The nurses there are amazing and have great personalities, they make sure you are feeling well every day ,they are great!! Very pleased. Everyone in the office are well trained and are very helpful with any needs you have. The chefs there make the best meals every day , and seem to care about you also. The after care is amazing also, been in IOP for a month now and is worth every day of it. David is amazing also he checks on you even after you leave and is there to help and just to have someone to talk to if your having problems, cool dude.
