Surprise! Paul Davis was paid the money they were owed by the people who owed them the money and…read morethat wasn't me. Paul Davis bothered to work as diligently to collect money from the insurance as hard as they worked on making preparations to sue me, they may have been able to do what I did. I'm responsible for Paul Davis getting the money they so ineptly did not acquire a contract in writing when accepting a verbal "yes" from the manager of my insurance. claim! You're welcome Paul Davis.... And thank you for the threats, the holding hostage of my property, and the horrible communication of your intent that you would hold me responsible for your employee getting my home without proper documentation to do so. Then, holding me responsible for not getting that proper documentation and sending me notification of having to pay a bill that the insurance was supposed to have approved per all the text you sent me, which is the only reason I said OK. However, I'm still left in my predicament because my home is gutted, I'm still having to deal with the horrible insurance company. My choice of insurance companies is not anyone's fault but my own; however, I would rather have a place to live in a pot to pee in rather than me stuck homeless like I'm gonna be and I do fully blame this company for being in my situation. Thank God, I was able to stop their lawsuit since I was able to get WSOC TV channel 9's investigative reporter to help me in getting those funds for Paul Davis since their employees don't know how to get appropriate documentation prior to gutting someone's home, or at least my home! I will be getting my storage out of their control as soon as possible. Through this, I learned that they we're going to have me pay to have my storage returned to me, but didn't bother to let me know. It had already been paid for them to bring my storage to me or so it appears in the estimates I read through after educating myself extensively on this entire process. I really don't appreciate feeling as though things have not been provided to me in honesty and that is how I am left in complete understanding unfortunately!

I especially appreciate them…read moreafter another company no-showed our appointment for an estimate and after being ghosted by a couple of different repairmen for a secondary job. After this, meeting with someone who keeps their word gains extra importance. The personable and professional Dean Flowers came out to give an estimate on water damage and possible mold. I was thrilled when I learned that the company would not only do the mitigation but the repairs as well. Making my life so much easier! Abraham Reyes was the project manager and was always timely, friendly and professional. His team was amazing, I really appreciated their workmanship, attention to detail, and that everything was left sparkling clean. Paul Davis worked seamlessly with our insurance company and we were so pleased with them that as mentioned above they completed a secondary job for us as well. We feel the services received were worth the money spent. As I told Abraham, I hope we won't need mitigation/repairs in future but if we do I know who we will call!

When we moved to Wilkesboro we had a vision for a pool entertainment area that was a little…read moredifferent than your average pool house. We talked to several contractors but used Chuck Wallis (CWC) and are so glad we did. From the start Chuck, Micah and Rodney (designer) were the only contractors who seemed to get our vision and helped us to streamline it, both adding features that we're very glad we did, and changing a few that didn't make sense logistically. Dealing with them during the planning process was fantastic. The resulting "Banana Mac's" pool bar/house is all we had hoped for and more. We are thrilled with the final product! The only room for improvement we would add would be that, once construction began, communication could have been better. That would have avoided some frustration and confusion with final billing and project completion. That said, we highly recommend CWC and, should we decide to do additional construction, we would certainly use them again. Thanks guys, the bar is open!

We contracted with Chuck Wallis to build a new custom home for us. Chuck Wallis construction was…read morehanded a very detailed plan with several outsourced vendors. The contract with CWC was for everything but the basement walls and timber frame. The problems and tension with our project started and ended with dealing with CWC. A few of our experiences: 1. CWC accepted delivery and stored ~$30,000 of aluminum clad wood windows in our future basement where the windows were exposed to bad weather. We rescued the windows from the rain and covered them with plastic. The next day CWC reluctantly provided a trailer to store the windows. 2. The actual cost for our project was over $100,000 more than the CWC estimate. CWC played games with their invoices allowing us to pay for several pieces of our contract, not to exceed their licensed contractor limit. However, the NC State Board for Licensed General Contractor complaint director has told us the limit applies to the total construction cost for the house. Not what was invoiced. 3. It took months for CWC to line up a mason, concrete guy, grader, septic guy, and painter. Still work is not complete. The painter said he would come back to finish in August. We are still waiting. 4. CWC allowed our floor trusses to be dumped on our property and left uncovered in the rain for about 6 weeks. The trusses were put up with black mold. We insisted for mold remediation measures to be taken. It took awhile, but it was done. 5. CWC ignored our requests to correct erosion that occurred after grading for our retaining wall. Then, after the correction for the grading for our retaining wall we developed a pond. It has cost us over $6500 to hire a experienced and competent grader to remediate a sinkhole that opened up 4 days after we moved into to our new home. We asked for a drain. CWC did not recommend a drain. CWC recommended planting grass. The sinkhole was mother nature's drain. 6. Our CWC cabinets have paint defects. The paint rubs off then you touch the trim. So with all our experiences - there are more - we do not recommend CWC for any project larger than a garage or room addition. 1 hour ago
