My 4 year old daughter needed a cleaning but was terrified to go to the dentist. This dentist was nice the first few times i took her there but that's where the good ENDED! Because of the fact my daughter cried and could barely open her mouth, they charged me for " behavior management". Which I later found out means strapping her down to clean her teeth. This never happened and they never cleaned my daughter's teeth. I'm stuck paying $159 for something that NEVER HAPPENED! I'm furious and disgusted with this dentist. I have to admit, I do not like going to the dentist. For some reason, having my teeth worked on causes anxiety. I had an infected tooth that took 3 rounds of antibiotics to eliminate the pain, so I was not looking forward to having it worked on. However, it was PAINLESS!. Dr. Bavlich is very gentle, and very conscientious, and made sure I was comfortable and not in any pain. I definitely recommend him to anyone, especially someone like me who is uncomfortable with having their teeth worked. Shout out to all his staff, also. I have never in my life had such horrendous service not only from a dentist, but from any "professional" establishment whatsoever. If it were possible to give zero stars I would. First, I went for a visit in 2012, and I had never received a bill. I thought maybe it was written off with a discount from the insurance; however, I go back in 2013 and the woman t the front desk asks me if my address was correct, because they kept getting the bill returned. They had inadvertently documented the city of the address as Rensselaer, when I do not live in Rensselaer and never indicated that in any demographic information I provided, I paid the bill promptly, and soon after began regular ortho treatment. During this process, I was constantly harassed for payments. Dr Balvich was not reasonable. I was under the impression that as long as my portion was paid before the braces came off, there would be no issues. I live out of town and one day without notice Dr. Balvich refused to see me. I showed up for my appointment, and they had deceptively acted like they were going to see me, then showed me to a room where the biller was told to threaten to send me collections if I didn't pay on the spot and that I wasn't going to be seen. I felt they didn't care about me as a patient, all they cared about was my money. I often paid in large lump sums at a time, and even after I had given them a check for 500 dollars all at once, they continued to harass me the very next visit as if 500 dollars was nothing. My bill was already about half paid off at this point. As I mentioned earlier, because of lack of common sense and competence, I had a bill that was never sent to my address. I ran a credit report, and found that they had sent me to collections for the incident that happened in 2012. They had never bothered to contact me about the bill being returned, I never received a phone call. I had no possible way of being aware of this bill and I was sent to collections. No one even bothered to tell me after I came back! I was getting treatment for a year and a half before I had any knowledge of this collections case. Since the bill was already paid, I asked them to take it off my credit. They told me I needed to pay the fee it would cost them to close it even though it was due to their utter carelessness. I tried to reason with them, and they refused. That same day, they told me that I was responsible for the remaining balance and they were "not going to deal with the insurance anymore" and that it was my problem. The portion I owed was completely paid off, and I thought I was free and clear just to be harassed and abused again. As a person, Dr Balvich is Gawky, I felt uncomfortable around him because his overall disposition is not very pleasant. He does not have any empathy for his patients and has no interest in their well being, all he cares about is money and his entire establishment is a disgrace. I am towards the end of my ortho treatment and I am switching orthodontists because I will no longer tolerate such abuse, Unless you enjoy being abused, given the run around, having your time wasted, and being harassed, you will not enjoy visit Dr. Balvich. I would highly suggest you take your business elsewhere. read more
