I was referred to Jorgensen Law by a friend. Jorgensen not only helped with my case, but for my husband's SSI case as well, and both cases were won within a year from start to finish. I can't say that the same results will be the same for everyone, but I think that's darn good in our situation. My case took longer and there wasn't much conversation back and forth, but when I had a question, someone always seemed to be able to answer it for me. I have no regrets of hiring Jorgensen Law for myself nor my husband and believe it was well worth the money, because being disabled and not being able to work is not easy. I used Jorgenson law for my SSDI case and had a positive experience and favorable outcome for my case. I was awarded my settlement in December of 2019. At the time I recall asking if there would be any assistance in the future regarding redetermination reviews. This is a normal process in the Social Security administration, and is done after 3 years of receiving SSDI. At the time of my original award I was advised by Jorgenson that when the time came there would be some kind of assistance with any of the review procedures. I was told at the. Ery least I could get resources that would assist in completing my redetermination. So the time has come to redetermine eligibility for my continuing benefits . I called Jorgenson law to inquire about getting legal counsel for the review . Unfortunately, my experience today was not a great one and I am less than satisfied by the information provided by the receptionist answering the office calls. First off I was met with a hasty response and rushed through the conversation. The receptionist was short with me and seemed to want to hurry and get to the next call on hold. She was not polite and said that there they don't provide past clients assistance with redetermination reviews. Then I was quickly dismissed and when I askedIf I was denied at my review would Jorgenson assist with appeal? Her response was that I would have to pay a retainer fee of 4-$6000 for services . Also, I could only obtain this assistance after I had been denied and received no benefits for a year. This was a bit disappointing. The receptionist was very unprofessional and not at all what i had experienced from Jorgenson Law in the past. She was not kind , very dismissive and quite frankly made me wonder if this is how she normally responds to clients. Perhaps she was having a rough day, This doesn't excuse the behavior and the fact that it's her job as a receptionist to at the very least be polite to potential clients when taking calls is a huge red flag. If I had an encounter on the phone at any time while Jorgenson Law represented me I would have found another firm to represent me. The erroneous information that was given to me when I got my settlement is very concerning , and really makes me second guess my initial decision to retain the firm. If I had known that this was not the case for future reviews I think I may have chosen a firm that did not flat out lie to me and then treat me with such disregard upon inquiry about assisting with redetermination. I am not sure as to the validity of the information I received when I called the office but the way I was treated was not acceptable. This will serve as a reminder to be more proactive and do a bit more research if I need an attorney in the future. I would not use this firm again and at this point I would not recommend them to anyone that is looking to hire a disability attorney. I think perhaps the firm may have list the personal touch that I appreciated so much when I obtained the firm. Very disappointing and another sign of the times. Greed and money win again. A sad reality that only grows with the loss of being kind or relating to humans with kindness , respect and truth. Not a good look for a disability attorney at all. I'm a disabled Veteran and we just won my SSDI case with Jorgensen as my legal representation. I will tell you there isn't a whole lot of communication with them but I was okay with that, you may not be. I also had to send a lot of my own documents to social security which again didn't bother me. My lawyer did go into the Hearing well prepared and argued my case and we won! I used them for my disability appeal last year, it wasn't what I expected from them! I had appointments at their office but never met the lawyer that represented me until the court day. He told me not to speak unless the judge ask me something, but the lawyer didn't really know me so I wasn't well represented. I think there where some issues the may have been brought up I would of won my case. I'm only writing this review because Disability benefits are really hard to get and you have to go in really strong and very well prepared. I called this law firm based off a referral from a prior client. I made initial contact to describe my disability claim and they made me an appointment the following week with an attorney over the phone. An unprofessional sounding clerk called on Friday to confirm the Monday appointment. On Monday the call never came at the scheduled time and I called in to the office but was sent to voicemail. I kept calling and finally was able to reach someone 40 minutes after my scheduled time. She said they had been having problems with their phone system and that my assigned attorney was on the line at the moment with someone else. She said she would call me but that never happened. As a matter of fact no one ever contacted me. Big waste of time and definitely not a reliable or professional experience at this law firm. read more

This journey started 8 years ago. Time is not on your side with Social Security. You must have a history of a regular Doctor overseeing your proposed disability. I was into my third year and 2 denials for the first filing by myself. I refiled again but with Jorgensen Law. They looked over my case the first visit to see if they can help. I was denied again 2 times even with the help of Jorgensen Law so we requested a hearing. In 09/2018 finally the hearing with the Judge and approval. Hint, if they want you to do a video chat with a Judge from another state, go that route. Either way you see the Judge by video or person, be prepared for questions for your case. A few days before you will see your Attorney and go over what will happen at the Social Security office in downtown San Diego. Maybe elsewhere too. Jorgensen Law was there to help for the whole process even after approval. After I got approved... it took some time to get the back pay to my bank account. Social Security had one 0 missing from the beginning set of zeros for the account. Finally after many calls from Jorgensen Law and myself it got corrected. This is 6 months after approval and they had been paid already. There is a set amount of $$ Social Security takes from your back pay to ensure the Attorney gets paid first. Law firms and Attorneys had a problem of of not getting paid for their work so SS stepped in and set the amount that a Law Firm or an Attorney can charge. They don't get paid if it gets denied. read more

He had a hearing in 2018 with a difficult judge who denied the claim. The firm got an appeal which was also denied. He refiled new claim with Jorgensen Law in July 2019 who were happy to assist. I will start with, next to no communication about my case... The first hearing was postponed due to technical problems on the side of the court. A second hearing was horrible, my representative had very little to say, as a matter of fact, I had to disagree with the SSAs representative of work that "I could do"... Nothing was brought up about my records from the Veterans Administration, not even by the supposed "Lawyer" that was there. After getting the decision from the ALJ, I was contacted by the offices, but not my lawyer and was basically told I was just too young... I am very disappointed with the representation I received from this company! The funny thing is I reached out to my Senator and have been given more attention to my case than I ever received from Jorgensen Law Group. My first call with Jorgensen Law I felt instant relief! I was told they were taking over everything and I didn't need to stress anymore. I had already been denied twice and was in need of some real help. However, throughout the process I never received any return phone calls or replies to my emails with my many questions and updates on my condition. My case manager changed two different times but no one ever notified me. So there were three different case managers but not one replied or helped.. After months of no response this really stressed me out. I did not feel I had any support from them throughout the process. Speaking with the receptionist she was not very helpful either and she was very rude at times. She made me feel as if my case was not important and leaving messages with her did not help as I again, never received any responses. But when it came down to it, at the time of the hearing they were there. My lawyer was polite, courteous and very helpful. She answered all of my questions before hand and let me know how the hearing process would work. She gave me expectations on when I would receive an answer and answered all of my questions after the hearing as well. I did hear back before the expected time and won my case. (Phew!!) I spoke with this firm 4 months ago about my disability case and it appeared by the phone calls and advise that they were taking my case. To my surprise, I was told today (9 calendar days before the deadline to appeal) that they could not take my case. I too could only speak with someone who did data entry then would put me on hold to get answers to my questions. If that's not enough, I explained the advise my prior doctor gave me regarding the first application that got declined only to spend 50 more minutes on the phone today answering questions then when she came back from speaking with an attorney she told me we'd have to apply following the same advise that was previously declined. 4 months wasted thinking I had a reliable firm in my corner. What a joke!! I don't know who this guy is in the picture but don't be fooled. You don't get to talk to anyone resembling an attorney. read more

As someone familiar with the legal practice, as a paralegal for a large firm for 13 years, I can say unequivocally that pursuing my disability case through this firm was the biggest mistake I made. First, they left crucial information out of my initial application causing it to get rejected. I confirmed this with another disability attorney who said that there is no way my application should have been denied, had it been filled out and filed correctly. Second, on numerous occasions I had to ask repeatedly for just the most basic tasks to get completed. I wondered if I was dealing with literates. Third, when I asked them to request critical medical documents, they pushed that task back onto me. I pushed it back on to them, as my attorneys and representatives, and well over a year later it still was not completed. I have never in 13 years of legal experience asked a client to subpoena their own documents. That's in addition to passing me off repeatedly to several different people. And when they informed me they lost my easily winnable case, it was done so with absolute lack of compassion, no alternative suggestions, or any desire to truly assist me in my most desperate time. They simply do not care. They take advantage of people in their most vulnerable moments. And on, and on. Countless mistakes, constant lack of responsibility, an absolute waste of time. My experience with this firm was not at all good. On two occasions, the paralegal that was assigned to my case advised me that SSDI would not be available to me for various reasons. In both cases this turned out to not be the case, confirmed by both the Social Security office and other SSDI attorneys that I subsequently spoke with. Had I listened to what this office advised me, I would not be pursuing my claim. My sense is that they did not want to handle my case, as it is somewhat complex, and perhaps in their mind not worth their time. They certainly have the right to not take my case, but misinforming me, and cancelling my appointment with them just hours before it was scheduled to take place without even having the courtesy to review the correspondence from SSDI and discuss with me, was rude and inappropriate. I took my mother here to get some help with disability benefits, she has been trying for years to get approved and was about to just give up. I had no idea it was so difficult for someone with severe mental illness to get approved. After hearing about this office I figured why not give it a try, at this point we have nothing left to lose. They were able to schedule me and my mother an appointment the very next day, and the person I met with, Candace was amazing. She was very kind and gentle with my mother, she answered every question we had and explained why she felt we kept getting denied along with what she thought could help give us a better chance to win. She was so patient and even explained the same answers over again until my mother (who has schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and manic depression) was clear about the steps she was going to take to help us. With the two other attorney offices we visited I felt like they were in a hurry to sign my mother up and get her out the door. They didn't want to answer questions and everything felt very rushed. After 4 months went by and they didn't contact us I called them and told them we were going to find someone else. Since our meeting Candace has followed up with us about my moms case status and I finally feel my mother is going to get the help she deserves. After searching several sites and making some calls, I contacted Jergensen Law Firm to help with my friend's disability claim. She was so fragile and needed professional representation. When I called the office to let them know of her condition, they assured me she would be treated delicately. I'm glad to say, they were right. Happily, the Jergensen Law workers were Great! The girl at the front desk was warm and quick to smile. The assigned case manager seemed to be very knowledgeable and gave very specific instructions on what we needed to do and what I could do to help her. I have since met a couple of the attorneys and they seemed to genuinely be concerned with helping her. Overall, I was extremely impressed with the treatment both my friend and I received and the professionalism of the office. This should be several reviews... I have referred others to Jergensen Law firm and all have received their benefits except 2 people, which have not been before a judge yet. The Lawyer they gave me, was one I had not met with. Showed up a half an hour before the hearing and knew nothing of my case. Seemed hung over, if not drunk. When I reread the transcript I see nothing said in my defense. Then, when my case was denied, they dropped me, as if I it were my fault, making sure to keep for themselves 25% or $6000 of anything I might win on appeal. Not happy. read more

I hired Jorgensen after I had to fire my previous attorney. They lost the document from my previous attorney saying he was not due any fees. I had to go back to the fired attorney to have him submit a new letter indicating he was owed nothing. They switched my contacts almost every time I called before the hearing (Jeanette, Robyn, Candace). I had very serious disabilities so I obviously won my case in Aug 2015. The attorney really did not have to say a thing at my trial because the records said it all. I have been totally disabled since 2011! Since I "won" my appeal, Jorgensen has been challenging. I have been unsuccessfully trying to get answers and updates on when I will get my disability pay for 6 months. I email every Monday and I get told they will leave a message and give me an update by Friday.....I have heard this almost every week for 6 months. I told them if I hear, "We left a message..." one more week, I was going to scream! I did. SSA says different things ever time I call/go in their office. I was told by Jorgensen Law that what I am being told by SSA is wrong. The max they get paid is $6000, and I just received something saying that I paid over $27,000 in attorney fees and costs (1099). So is the 1099 from SSA Frauduent? I have no idea! I also do not have the $21,000. I have repeatedly asked for updates, explanations, and an accounting. NOTHING proactive, and nearly nothing without constant emails/calls. I have also asked why Medicare was backdated over a year, and if I had to pay premiums on insurance I did not get? I have asked for this to be escalated to someone with the last name of "Jorgensen", but to no avail. Very frustrating. I would recommend they do a better job explaining the process. Silly me, I thought that when I won my case I would get my disability pay. read more

But yet I had to pay out of my own pocket numerous times as they took so long to get my claim filed in court. 75 bucks here, 50 bucks there etc. it's almost like they felt like I couldn't win my case. Well, I didn't win my case and they treated me like a no one. I was immediately sent to their so called "appeals" firm called Rohlfing out of Santa Fe Springs. It's very apparent that this firm doesn't give two shits either. You can see the fed ratings and then the true ratings of actual experiences with this firm. It's disgusting that attorneys play with peoples lives and get away with it. It was NEVER disclosed to me that I would be thrown to a different firm if I lost my case. And then they throw me to a firm with bad reviews? Wow. Don't trust these people. Vanessa laughed at me when I got pissed off. I requested hard copies of my file and no such thing had ever happened. We've been working with this firm for a while, and I just wanted to review and let everyone know what a good experience I've had. I've been working with them to get social security benefits for my mom. I didn't always have a good experience in the beginning, but lately, my experience has been very good. We've been waiting a long time for benefits, and are currently waiting for a hearing to be scheduled. I had NO idea what to expect and my mom was nervous about what would happen. I have asked in the past to get an explanation on why it's taking so long, but have never really been satisfied with the answer. I recently called to ask some questions, figuring I'd get either a standard answer or leave a voicemail, but instead, I got a very thorough, detailed explanation about the process. Anna, our new case manager, was very knowledgeable and set my mind at ease. she took the time to answer all my questions and reassured me about being behind us every step of the way. I've since called a few times and have had a great response from everyone I've talked to, no matter how many times I ask the same questions! :-) Anyway, it seems the more we've worked with them, the more familiar they've become, and they really seem invested in helping us succeed. I contacted Jorgensen Law over seven years ago to start my claim for disability. They have ONE job; match their client's condition with those listed in the 14-part "Listing of Conditions" and then make sure the client's medical records reflect the evidence necessary to prove the severity and recognized condition the courts will allow. They NEVER even mentioned the Listing of Conditions existed so I could direct medical experts to report their findings (if appropriate). Instead, they wasted seven years of my life trying to shoehorn a vague description (as opposed to a proper diagnosis) into something severe enough to be considered by the judge. Had I been informed early on of this, I could have easily asked my doctors to test for conditions associated with my symptoms with this in mind. At no time did I ever ask anyone to lie or obfuscate the truth in any way. My doctors could have simply focused their efforts in the right direction instead of wasting everyone's time. In short, my medical record would easily have shown a condition of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome as well as Personality and Impulse-Control Disorder as clearly outlined in the Listings of Conditions. Consequently, I have used up all rights to reconsideration and appeal over the past seven years due to the shear incompetence of the attorneys with Jorgensen Law. I had three attorneys with them who I only met briefly on the day of court hearings, so I can't pinpoint a specific attorney's name. Avoid this firm like the plague!
