Conner to the rescue! My five star rating is entirely due to the service I experienced with Conner…read morewho made a bad experience a great one. I recently went here to rent a tuxedo. The first visit I had a young lady helping me who was trying to help several other people but was also very interested in her phone at the same time. I don't have a reason to rent a tux very often and I wanted the sizing to be right so I would look sharp, but I was pretty nervous with the level of customer service. As I was checking out, one of the customers my rep was helping bailed from the store, stating "I need some attention to detail." I could relate, and mentioned it to a young man named Conner who was ringing me up. Conner stopped the transaction to understand what has transpired, and apologized for the situation. He asked me to come back the following evening when it was slower and said he would make sure everything was right. I did...and he did. It seems nearly every single measurement the first rep took was off. Some were way off, like I would have had extreme high water pants, for example. Conner also helped me understand the tux styles and make the right choice. The other rep was so confusing in this and I just went along with what she said was clearly the right pick. It wasn't. My point in all of this is Conner saved the day and the experience. The tux fit great. the price was competitive. Yes, I had to invest more time here but I knew Conner was going to go the extra mile...even though he didn't have to. He is one of those employees the companies should absolutely treasure and advance. You can tell he loves what he does and that he really cares about the customer. This experience has put Jos A Bank on my radar for other clothing needs and I will be back as long as I know I will see Conner's smiling face when I go there.

Our experience at the Jos. A. Bank in Collegeville was genuinely disappointing from start to…read morefinish, and I feel compelled to share it so others know what to expect -- especially if they're preparing for something as important as a wedding. Our first interaction with Joe should have been a sign. We called ahead to let them know we were running about 10 minutes late and wanted to confirm we didn't need to reschedule. Instead of a simple acknowledgment, Joe sounded annoyed and said, "just make sure to have your code." Not exactly welcoming, but we moved on. At the appointment, he wasn't friendly, but he wasn't outright rude either. He took the measurements, placed the order, and we left assuming everything was handled correctly. When we returned to pick up the tux, everything fell apart. The pants were enormous -- nowhere near the correct size -- and the vest was also far too big. Instead of helping, Joe acted irritated that we even questioned it. His response was, "it's a rental, it's not going to be perfect but decent enough." When we pointed out the vest was clearly oversized, he waved his hand and said, "it will tighten in the back," without checking or adjusting anything. It didn't. Then came the pants. He handed over a smaller size without even looking and said, "here, put these on." Those were extremely tight -- so tight it made no sense that one size difference went from comically large to unwearable. Joe insisted, "this is the best we can do," and said he would order that tight size. We left feeling frustrated and, more importantly, not confident at all that Joe had ordered the correct pants or that he had even tried to find a proper fit. We also didn't believe there were no alternative pant options, so we went to the King of Prussia location for a second opinion. Thank goodness we did. The KOP team immediately confirmed there were other options. They found a much better-fitting pant style, ordered the correct size, replaced the vest, and even altered the jacket sleeves so everything fit properly. They also discovered that Joe hadn't even ordered the smaller size he claimed -- he had reordered the same oversized pants we had tried on that day. And those incorrect pants wouldn't have arrived until Thursday before our wedding, leaving no time to fix anything. Meanwhile, KOP was able to get the correct items in by Tuesday, giving us plenty of time to ensure everything was perfect for the groom. We later returned to the Collegeville store to speak with a manager. To h cisredit, he apologized and openly admittedhe was not surprised by Joe's behavior. While I appreciated his honesty, it was still shocking to hear and didn't make the experience any less frustrating. Overall, our experience at the Collegeville location was unprofessional, careless, and stressful -- especially considering this was all happening the weekend before our wedding. I'm disgusted by how poorly everything was handled. If we hadn't trusted our instincts and gone to KOP, the groom's tux would have been a disaster. We will not be returning to the Collegeville location, and I strongly recommend anyone needing a tux rental go elsewhere.

My fiance and I paid a deposit of $80 on 4 tuxes for my groomsmen so they could get measured at Men's Wearhouse locations near where they live. Three of my groomsmen were asked to pay a second deposit, without any contact given to me. The fourth groomsman simply has not gone to a store yet, so that is just a matter of time. This means my fiance and I paid $20 for one tux and a groomsman paid $20 for the same tux, meaning a $40 deposit. The total cost of each tux came to about $115. Does that mean we are paying a total of $155 per tux or is the remaining balance $75 per tux? UPDATE: So I called the Plymouth Meeting location and the customer service representative explained the process to me. This was originally not explained with the person who assisted me last time. It is company policy for all employees to automatically ask for a $20 minimum deposit for every rental. My understanding was that the employees at the other stores would not ask because we already paid the deposit. It turns out that they ask no matter what and anyone getting fitted must remind them of the deposit already made. I am finding this franchise to be a mixed bag. There are some very helpful employees and some very awful employees.

If you are looking for athletic slim fit pants I suggest somewhere else…read more Hoping to both help future customers with this post as well as the store. Was debating how I wanted to write this review because there was good and bad that came out of this. May end up a little lengthy. I came in to the store to purchase a slim fit suit. I have an athletic build so was hoping to find something tailored to that. Lindsey and Alex J helped me for almost an hour a lot of credit to them I would have already left but they were extremely accommodating. I had decided on a light grey slim fit. After trying on multiple jackets finally found one that fit very well slim fit 1905 40R - now these are suppose to come with 34 slim fit pants. But after putting on the pants that were with them, they were at-least a 38-40 waist and not even close to slim fit. Alex worked tirelessly to find pants for me. Apparently the coding were the same for multiple pants. So they agreed on some variation of the pants and would alter them. (See photo 1). I don't believe they were the 34 slim pants but they could have been. Just do not resemble it. Aside from length of visit and the organization of the store a little off they made it right and I appreciate their help on it. Here is where my trouble started. I got the pants back and they were still very baggy and long ($29) later. I am 25. Another guy around my age was in there when I was going to pick up looking for his pants to have the modern, slim fit. I overheard the gentleman who is asst manager tell him "we might as well call what you are looking for ladies tights". Ok.... Now I was told what I needed and wanted was extreme tailoring ($28) to get the fit I was looking for. After the tailor coming out and working with me - no Lindsey or Alex this time. She was a bit disgruntled at me.. this was the fit I wanted but eventually said ok. I took a pair of state and liberty pants back in to match that fit. Finally got everything done. The pants look okay, nothing is ever perfect I understand that. And I appreciate the help of Lindsey and Alex. My suggestion is if you are looking for a modern slim athletic fit pant try your luck somewhere else. I was up to $57 in modification for the pants that cost $80. I have gotten 2 suits already this summer at the Greenville location and didn't have any issues. After it was all said and done here are the results in photo 2. I appreciate Lindsey and Alex work, the other man working not so much, seemed to try and tell you what you should have instead of asking what you want. A $250 suit turned into over $325 with all modifications which is still a decent price just wish It was a bit easier than 4 trips there and back.

I discovered that the seam on my pants had a 2 inch opening in the inner seam on the right leg of the pants. I received an email at 11:00 am on the day the tux had to be returned to remind me about returning the tux. I showed up at the store at opening time (12:00) and had to wait 20 minutes for the worker (in dirty pants) to open the store. When I questioned him as to why they didn't open on time, he said he had to attend a sweet 16 party the night before! Really? I had a wedding the night before! How about taking your job seriously and getting to work on time! I will look for a different store if I need to rent a tux in the future. Poor customer service!
