I came in today needing a suit within a week--yes, I was that customer, and I knew better! The employee/manager was completely on top of her game and delivered an exceptional experience to make sure I'd be ready in time. She truly went above and beyond to get everything handled efficiently and professionally. On top of that, she was incredibly informative and took the time to explain that I could still be fitted there even if the wedding party was going through Men's Wearhouse--something I didn't know and really appreciated. Have the same parent company as Men's Warehouse so there are many locations to get any issues resolved on the fly if you have to travel to the event and are far from your origin. Wonderful customer service on short notice. I called ahead to confirm they had what I needed and they had it set aside when I arrived. I was leaving directly for an event so the staff took the time to steam my jacket and help me with all the details. The door is on the Main Street so it's a little hard to find if you haven't been before. I will be back again and recommend it to others. read more

I needed a new tuxedo for an upcoming wedding, so I stopped off at Joseph A. Bank. I came in and was warmly welcomed by a variety of their staff including Brian, the store manager and Trent, who ended up helping us out. The selection here was great with 100% wool apparel. They had hats, suits, tuxedos, ties and more! While getting fitted, Trent did a great job. After measuring my arms and shoulders, he then found the perfect top. While the bottom was a bit too big, he affirmed that the tailor could take care of it. Speaking of the tailor, he was superb! He was your classic tailor, authenticated with the Italian accent. I had a few questions, but he handled them and made sure everything was taken care of. Also, the tuxedo I purchased with originally around $800, but the store had a great deal bringing the price down. Joseph A. Bank especially this location has outstanding deals whether it be with suits, tuxedos, pants or shoes. Altogether, my experience at this Joseph A. My granddaughter, Samantha, is marrying a guy named Eli, next June, and I decided to buy him a complete set of formal wear - tux, shoes, bow tie, cummerbund, and socks - for his big day. He wanted a top hat, but I told him that was unnecessary. I went with my wife and some grandkids - Samantha, Ivan, Ace, Larry and David, and Lenny. Nice outing for us. It worked out very well. Eli got a great outfit and he and Samantha seemed to really like it. The salesperson, Trent, was very helpful and put everything together for us. Made it very easy for us and was very friendly. The tailor was great too - very authentic- Eli really liked him and his approach - they exchanged email addresses. Eli once thought about becoming a tailor, but now works with check cashing, but stills does some sewing and stitching on the side. Strange hobby! Eli got carried away a bit with my buying him his formal outfit - he asked if I could buy him an entire new wardrobe so he could look good for my granddaughter- I told him we were just there for the tux that day. He isn't usually like that - I guess he sees me spoiling the grandkids and wanted the same treatment - but he isn't even a member of the family yet and he is not a "blood grandchild." My wife was surprised that Eli would ask for more than what we had offered up - the tux, etc., - but said he didn't mean anything by it. I think he also took a shoehorn by accident, but I'm not 100% sure about that. I'm sure he wouldn't do it willfully. He seems like a nice guy, but you never know. Huge fan of Jos A Bank, and Vincent, the store manager is an immense help! I went to purchase a suit for my wedding, and he was able to help me find a perfect cut, perfect cloth, perfect color. We spent hours together and he was extremely patient and candid. He recognized my own limitations and guided me through the purchase. I obviously spent a lot of money, but I walked out with two suits for the price of one and change and I look great. My brother-in-law came here to get suits for his wedding party, and a very pleasant man named Victor helped him out. The (extremely reasonably priced) suits came in quickly after they were ordered, which was great. I went with my husband this past weekend for his fitting and got to meet Victor myself, and he truly was a doll. We also needed to exchange a shirt that was a gift but we didn't have a gift receipt. Nicholas is a horrible salesman there. Ask for someone else if you get him. He is scummy and slimy. My husband was buying his first suit for our wedding and he totally messed it up and then wanted him to just keep it the way it was. He was arguing in the middle of the store with other staff and being mean to the seamstress. Gross. Will never go back there. read more

Don't waste your time here, the store has very little inventory and extremely aggressive sales people who will try and stuff you into any suit they have on the rack. Their favorite line is "all suits need alteration". We were unsure about the fit but very open to coming back and getting it adjusted if we didn't find something better. When we mentioned we were going to think about our purchase the salesperson turned extremely nasty. Save yourself the ridiculousness go elsewhere. instead head to KOP. Try Macy's or even Men's warehouse, has the same corporate owners but way better sales people, Tyrone is amazing. read more

I had a bad experience. I was fatefully assigned to salesman Nick who managed to encapsulate rudeness and inattentiveness into one person. He didn't even bother to make eye contact much less remember my name. Additionally his reputation with fellow sales associates felt sour and made for an awkward experience. I was tossed between different associates who argued in front of me regarding what suit size I needed. Finally, the results of this cacophony of bad coordination: my suit came out rather poorly. Surprise. There is no time to fix these mistakes prior to the event in which I need the suit. P.S. Nick is the manager. Way to go Nick. Kudos to Jos. A. Bank Haverford sales team for ever lasting a day in that man's presence, because 10 minutes was excruciating. read more

We walk in at our appointment time and are immediately greeted and ushered to Chad, the gentleman who helped us. I have been going to Jos. A. Bank for my suits since 2008 and I have never had a bad experience until now. This was my first time coming to the Ardmore location, because it was on route to my home and I was hopeful to begin a new relationship since I had moved out of the Chestnut Hill area. The plan was to buy a suit for an interview that following Friday. It was last minute, and the Store Manager Vince was very nice, but everything seemed very pushy. The selection of suits was very limited, especially for someone with my height and stocky build. Once everything was done, the price was extremely inflated with alternations, but I still paid regardless hoping the suit would fit great. I came back to the store and tried on the suit and knew something was off, but still took it home that night and tried it on for my family. The criticism I received was much different than what I got at the store. The pant legs were cut too short, not tapered and the jacket was way too big and bulky. Needless to say, I did not wear the suit for the interview. I called in to the store the next day and was told that only the Store Manager could do a return. I came back in the store a week later and told Vince I was not happy with the suit and would like a refund. Based off his demeanor he was not happy with my compliant and said he cannot refund me my money and I basically could not even take the suit to another Jos.A.Bank store because they would call him regardless, so no refund would be given. The only option would be to find another suit at equal or lesser value. I now feel trapped to go back to the Ardmore store and honestly don't feel like spending my time or money at this location again. read more

Great store. Great clothes. But their sales tactics are INCREDIBLY annoying. Salespeople have to meet quota and when a customer walks in the door, whatever salesperson was next in line is up. If you ask someone other than your salesperson for help they look at you like you have 3 heads. Also, I waited at cashier with merchandise in hand for a good 10 minutes waiting for someone to check me out. Salesperson who was helping another customer runs over to check out other customer before me and all other sales people refuse to check me out. So pissed read more

The office manager was nice to deal with during the evening hours. However, when we put in our order, my husband specifically requested to have his tux picked up on a Wednesday because we were getting married out of town and was leaving Thursday. They said it wasn't a problem, and "we will make a note of it". This was the worse vendor I've dealt with in my entire life. It made it worse when I called the week of my wedding to find out if the tux was coming in, but come to find out, all the tuxes were coming in to the same store (even though the groomsman were measured and was suppose to pick them up at their respective locations--Maryland and Chicago!), the grooms's tux was the wrong size--they mixed up the order for the groom and the best man. I had to go to the store and try to sort things out, but the store manager has left for the evening. I had to deal with an incompetent operations manager who told me all 4 tux had come in and I can pick them up. I did not trust them since they messed up the sizes 4 times so I decided to unzip every tux to make sure they were the correct size. My husband, the groom did not have the correct tie and vest, because the best man's tux was ordered under my husband's size! I was livid. This was 4 days before my wedding and I had to deal with people who cannot get the right color ordered. I left the store and waited until the next day, came in and spoke with the store manager that I've been dealing with. He called and rushed an overnight order for my husband's tie and vest and a new suit for my husband and best man. The best man had to pick up the tux the next day (2 days before the wedding) and drive up to NYC that evening, not knowing if the tux was going to fit my husband. This added headache and all the stress was not needed, especially when I had to deal with other issues. They never flat out offered any type of compensation until I had asked---they should have comp the entire order, but instead, they refunded two rentals. I SWEAR we will never, ever deal with this company again and will not REFER them to ANYONE! read more

I was referred to this store by a coworker. I wear suits just a few times per month but I need an exceptional fit given the expectations here on the Main Line. The manager, Brian, listened to my concerns and then showed me their custom made clothing. I had never considered custom suits because of the stigma about price. Brian helped me through the process, answered all my questions thoroughly and the price was about the same as their regular suits, which is very fair. What impressed me most was the time Brian took with every detail; making sure I made informed decisions and tasteful choices. My suits arrived about a month later and he called me to set up a fitting appointment. The suits were nearly perfect. The tailor, Orlando, made a minor adjustment and hemmed the pants the next day and that was it! My only critique is that on weekends (when I chose to pick up) other salespeople would interrupt Brian for concerns with other customers, so I'd recommend making an appointment with him during the week when the store isn't as busy. I've never been happier with a suit purchase. When I receive my gift certificates from this purchase I'm going back for two more! read more
