I've been going to this office during my entire pregnancy exactly a couple weeks before my due date this doctor starts making me feel very uncomfortable and anxious when he would do my ultrasounds and exams my last visit I spoke up and said something and he got upset. Once he was telling the nurse to give me an appointment I asked about a date and time just because he is always late to see me or arriving late to the office I've waited up an hour almost every appointment I've had which is very frustrating. Nurses are very nice and good when they see me in person. But when I call over the phone for help they are useless. I called to ask for my medical records to be faxed to a different clinic and they never sent them over . read more

He's an evil man..... I had a late miscarriage. 17 weeks. I delivered my baby at home but my placenta did not fully expel. So off to the nearest ER we went. My husband and I waited 6 hours in that hospital so that I could be transferred to St. Mary's L&D department. The entire time I held my tiny baby on my pubic bone (he was still attached to the umbilical, which was still attached to the placenta, which was still half way inside the birth canal). Finally I was transferred. Quickly, my legs were placed in the stirrups. Then I meet de La Rosa. I was shaking profusely. I had uncontrollable anxiety due to the experience of losing our baby. De La Rosa immediately came into the room, asked me some questions about my pregnancy with utter rudeness, disrespect, and zero compassion in his voice, and without warning stuck the forceps in and started attempting to remove my placenta. Usually, when a medical professional is going to go near that area you get a gentle warning about what is going to happen. Nope. Not this doctor. It was painful. I told them to please be careful because my baby was still resting on my pubic bone. I told him to be careful with the baby. I held my hand over my baby trying to protect him. He told me to move my hands and put them by my side. I would listen...then cover my baby again because he was so rough with the forceps and I was so afraid he would hurt my baby. He continued to tell me to move my hand (my hand was not in his way). He was obviously frustrated, so he then decided to just cut the cord. He was clearly annoyed by me trying to protect my baby. He then took my baby, heartlessly laid him on a blue towel, turned my direction with the towel, said, "here's baby." Then, he immediately turned away and handed him off to the nurse. Then he continued to forcefully try to remove what was left of the placenta. Finally I yell out, "okay stop!" Because the pain was becoming too intense. He threw his tools down and said we were doing a D&C. I'm glad I was asleep for that procedure. I'm glad I was asleep before he was even in the operating room. I was nervous enough as it was. His presence would have made it even worse. Aside from everything that took place, he was a belittling man. Rude, arrogant, and literally puts his had in other people's faces to shut them up so only he can speak. I'm supposed to go in for a follow up with him, but I refuse. I will find another doctor to follow up with. The nurses at St. Mary's, however were wonderful. Lovely ladies. read more

He is the worse doctor. Don't come here he is fucken, horrible I can't believe my whole pregnancy was a nightmare. He is always late and rude as hell, he touches way too much makes you feel weird, and I always have to ask him to read me my results. For any lab or test, he does. That's not all; what made it worse is that when I decide to leave him I got my medical records and they said something else than what he told me. For example, something he did came back positive and when I ask him he said it came back negative. If I wouldn't left him as my doctor I would never know the true, the true about my results. This happen in a process of a whole 9 months. Also he charges for everything every single paper we are talking about more the $45 just for one single sheet. I had read some negative reviews prior to my visits with Dr. Jose de La Rosa but decided to give him a try. I was very disappointed in the quality of service and care provided. Dr is always rushing his appointments and only takes about a minute or two to look at the baby during the ultrasound. I felt very uncomfortable during my appointments due to the doctor's attitude and the way in which he does things. I was hoping for a better experience as this is my first pregnancy but unfortunately I got referred to this office and I do not recommend the service provided here. Dr will belittle you in front of other patients and staff, or speak to you as if he is superior, and I observed him do this with his staff as well. read more

So I thought it might of been in my head the feeling I got when I saw Dr. De la Rosa but by reading the previous reviews I can now confirm It was not. First, every time I had to see him it it was over a 2 hr wait. He always over books and then the receptionist gets mad if you say you wanna reschedule. Then once you go into his office he makes it seem like you know nothing about your own body. I had to get a Pap smear done, it has never felt like it did with him. It was so uncomfortable because he has zero consideration for the patient. I also over heard him complaining in Spanish to the nurse and then realized I spoke Spanish as well and tried to play it off once he came back in the room. I do NOT recommend this doctor at all! I was referred by my primary doctor. I got my referral in May and didn't get to see him till August. I went there today! Keep in mind this is only my second appointment that he scheduled!!! The front lady calls me twice to change my appointment from September 5th to September 14!! Why cause the doctor isn't there Tuesdays and that's the only open appointment available. I called to get it the earliest , the better!!! So I went in today September 11,2023 I get there at 3:00 and my appointment was till 3:30 thinking I would be seen earlier! I got up waiting a whole freaking hour and asked when am I going to be seen!! The staff lady's where just talking amongst each other so all of a sudden , they put me inside.. The freaking doctor and all the staff apparently don't know why you are there for ? They treat you like a new patient! Every time you go!!! Asking you questions they already know! Dr. de la Rosa was my second choice. My fibroid tumors were huge!!! (Well one was really big!) The first doctor wasn't relatable, she made me feel like I was just another task to perform. Her words were harsh. I didn't trust her. She was dismissive, quick with her speech; she made me feel as if I needed to only hear what she had to say and then believe it. I then met Dr. de la Rosa; he listened to me. He talked to me and asked me questions...and he listened to me. I had a hysterectomy (the uterus was removed) a few weeks ago. I feel GREAT! A lil sore still, yet I feel so much better after the surgery. I am so grateful to this man for my surgery. He made me feel comfortable, answered my questions, laughed at my crazy sense of humor...he's just a real person with medical certification, degrees, and experience. Though Dr. de la Rosa often brings new lives into the world, he helped to improve the quality of my 'seasoned' life. :-) read more

This Dr is very unprofessional. On several occasions the previous patient ultrasound was still on the screen. He shows no compassion for 1st time moms. And when he's doing ultrasounds he doesn't even explain what he looking for or even looking at. The last appointment was it for me. How can you ask a Dr how much does the baby weigh and he responds by saying I told you last time. He gets paid to service patients and if you want to see if your baby is growing it's his responsibility to let the patient know. His equipment is outdated which shows his lack of concern for patients comfort. After you are finally called to be seen. I had multiple horrible experiences coming to Dr. De La Rosa's office. I started coming here when I found out I was pregnant unfortunately I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks. When I was coming here I would have to wait 1+ hours to be seen even though I arrive on time. If my appointment was at 5:30 I wouldn't get seen till past 6:30. After going a few visits he confirmed it was a miscarriage & he would need to do a D&C. When my auth got approved there was an issue with it so it had to get fixed. I started to bleed even more so I went to the ER. I was hoping they could do the procedure but they said they couldn't. Right when I left I called I called the doctor's office to check status because the front office lady told me she would call me with an update the previous day but didn't. Once I told her my name her tone changed & she became rude. She said "I will call you by 5 today but you're putting a lot of pressure on me by calling me." This was my first pregnancy & miscarriage. My emotions were all over the place. When I called her not once did I give her attitude not even when she gave me attitude. I couldn't believe someone could be so rude & inconsiderate when they're going through something like this. Once the auth got fixed I had to get tested for COVID. At that point I was actually getting over COVID & even tested myself at home & was negative. The hospital did their own test & Dr. Jose De La Rosa told me to go in to see him. When I saw him he came in with a horrible attitude. I asked him about my procedure that was supposed to happen the next day. He said "Well you're not gonna go cause it's not happening!" I didn't know what he was talking about so I asked him & he said "The procedure was canceled!" I wasn't aware of that & I told him. He said "Oh I thought the front told you. They canceled it cause you tested positive still. What's up with you people?! Why don't you get vaccinated! I'm vaccinated 3 times & I'm okay!" He was throwing his arms around. I told him I was planning to get vaccinated after I just have to wait the 90 days & he said "It's too late for that!" There's no reason for him to have acted so unprofessional & rude. My body ended up passing everything naturally & he made me do blood work to confirm. Instead of calling me with my results he told me to come in. I paid a copay, waited 2 HOURS past my appt time all for him to just say that my miscarriage is complete. I feel like this office is more interested in money than their actual patient care. I work in a clinic as well & have never treated a patient like this. I would never come back to this office & I wouldn't recommend it to anyone especially first time moms. First off, Dr de la Rosa is too touchy. He will wipe off the ultrasound gel off of your abdomen. (He refers you to another male dr in LB for a more in depth ultrasound and I honestly prefer him better he is respectful and won't touch you at all, just w/ the ultrasound device while he's using it. And that's how it should be.) Back to de la Rosa, He doesn't make copies of any ultrasounds to keep, you have to record or take the picture yourself and that's if you get the chance to take it. Every-time I would enter the room right after someone else, they never changed the paper liners to lay on. Even in the peak of covid-19. Its obvious to anyone when it's been used, you can't deny those wrinkles and folds. And when I was in labor just a few hours in, he pushed to give me Pitocin, which I didn't need, it was just to "speed up my labor process" (It was progressing normally btw). That was a horrible experience and it wasn't medically necessary but at a vulnerable and tired state, I gave in. I would not recommend him. read more

Great doctor overall! I was referred to him late in my pregnancy due to a switch of insurance, he and his staff were understanding and took charge. Dr. De La Rosa gave good advice during each visit. When I was running late or when Dr was behind schedule, staff reassured I would be seen. Dr. is usually busy with many appointments throughout the day, his service outweighs the waiting. The waiting room is small, there is TV and magazines, bring your own entertainment to comfortably by pass waiting time. The entire office space including waiting room is clean and well kept. At hospital when in labor / delivery Dr. was available and spoke through each step of the way, he also sent messages through nurses. I felt comfortable due to his confident demeanor. I could not imagine labor / delivery any other way as he was helpful before and after. My first birthing experience went well thanks to Dr. De La Rosa. read more

Don't know which is worse - a male OB/GYN that makes condescending comments to female patients, or a doctor of either gender who makes appointments for times they are not going to bother to show up for. I think the timewaster aspect wins out, but just barely. Add in a couple other layers of small-time unpleasantness and you've got a real stinker of a GYN office. I got referred to this office to have some tests done. On the first visit, I arrive at 4:30 for a 4:30 appointment. Waiting room is packed. TV is blaring LOUD. I ask the office staff how long the wait will be, and they say 15 to 20 minutes. When I inquire half an hour later, they say, oh, that was only an estimate, it's going to be another 20 minutes or so. Finally, well after 5:30, way past all the time estimates, I finally get seen. I let it slide because I was hastily booked that day and doctor's offices can tend to thicken up at the end of the day as small delays stack up. He sees on my intake form that I have no kids and am not planning on getting pregnant, and he asks me point-blank: "Why don't you want kids?" Um, excuse me, that's exactly none of your concern. (You're here to help ME, doc, I'm not here to justify my life choices to you. Wait, am I actually paying for this kind of treatment?) I have lived in several locales over the years, and had at least two GYNs in each of those, and never once did any of them think to ask me such an irrelevant and pushy question that has nothing to do with my medical health. He got really huffy and mansplain-y when I called him on it - instead calling ME rude, and he wouldn't shut up about it, either, until I made a (fake) apology so I could just finish the appointment. (Judging from the way his all-female office staff treat him and the way he reacted to my rather mild criticism, I don't get the idea he likes women giving him any kind of static.) (I have since found another GYN who was patient, helpful, and informative, and she too rolled her eyes when I mentioned this doctor's behavior. But I digress.) On the return visit, which I ONLY showed up for to get my test results back: I showed up at 8:45 for a 9AM appointment, thinking first thing in the morning might be better than at the end of the day, only to find the office locked tight as a drum. By the time the office staff straggled in at 9:10 to open the place up, they immediately retreated behind the sliding glass office window. Eventually, a sign-in clipboard emerged. I signed in, waited, 5 other women arrived very soon after, waited some more, no one is getting called, and so at 9:20 or 9:25, I ask how long it's going to be. The good doctor wasn't expected in for another 30 to 45 minutes. With 6 women in his waiting room and more probably on the way. Of course, none of the other staff are qualified to give me my test results. Just the big man in the white coat who can't be bothered to show up for his appointment or hire a secondary staff member to fill in while he's off delivering a baby or whatever. It certainly doesn't help that as far as diagnosis goes, Wikipedia may in fact a better diagnostic doctor than he is. He went straight to a diagnosis that I've already had disproven by other doctors and tests, and pretty much ignored me telling him so. It's also worth nothing that the only positive Yelps of this doctor are a) all five stars and glowing praise and b) have all been filtered by Yelp as being likely/obvious sock puppet reviews, where they clearly came on the site only to boost his practice. There are other options out there, ladies, and over the years I have experienced enough GYNs to know the good from the bad. Give this one a pass unless you like to be condescended to and having your time wasted in one fell swoop. read more

Worst doctor I have ever been too. I try to ask questions about my procedure. He didn't answer any. Will just tell let me do my job. According to him he found nothing. Went to my one week follow up. Told him my incision look as it was opening. He glanced at it and told me it was fine. Next day I went to the hospital because it did open. They did a ct scan and found a large cyst. I thought he found nothing. Weeks later another incision got infected. Took me forever to recover because he put glue instead of stitches. When I tied my tubes with a different doctor he put stitches on my small incision. Why wouldn't he if it was bigger. Rude Dr. refuses to answer any questions. Will never go to him again. One of my worse experience on my first visit waited two hours to be seen. Dr. De la Rosa is rude and unprofessional my second visit I waited more than one hour. After been put in a room Dr. De la Rosa tells his assistant to tell me to come out to the hall way that's where he gave me my consult he just ask me when I wanted my surgery and when I told him the date he told me that he was going to schedule my surgery but if he has a conference or something else comes out that he was going to cancel my surgery and he was telling in advance do I won't get mad if my surgery gets canceled, I ask when I will see you again and he just said in the hospital the day of my surgery. My surgery is two months away and never mention any pre OP labs or any study I will need before surgery. read more

Dr. de la Rosa is one of the best OB GYN/Surgeons you can ever find. I've been under his care for 15 years by now and will be as long as I can . I chose to deliver my 2 babies with him , and found his prenatal care complete and very caring , you even get to see your baby several times because he uses the ultrasound machine a lot . When it came to deliver my babies , he was very patient and present at all times even though I had a very long delivery the first time ,making me feel very safe on his hands. He even helped me collect stem cells at my second delivery, and him along with the nurses were very helpful and nice about the whole thing. On two other occasions I have had to see him for surgeries. Both times feeling cared for and knowing every step of the way what was going on with me and my options .Plus excellent healing and almost untraceable scaring ( something that didn't happened to me with another Dr. that did an emergency surgery some time ago). The wait time at his office is sometimes long ,he is one of the busiest Doctors I have ever seen. But with lots of deliveries and patients,that translates into experience for him , I realize ( much like his other patients) that once you've found an excellent Dr. to trust, you don't let go. read more

The best referral I ever had. I went to Dr. De La Rosa's office. I was extremely concerned about my medical condition. The moment he came in to the examination room, he made me feel comfortable. He was very compassionate. I asked him SEVERAL questions regarding my concerns. He answered every one of them at length. Dr. De La Rosa was very through and professional. He even took the time to show me on his computer the procedure which he will perform. I left his office no longer concerned about my upcoming surgery. I felt completely at ease. Today I am happy to say, the surgery went well and I am feeling great. Dr. De La Rosa is not only a wonderful doctor, but a skilled surgeon as well.. I love Dr. De La Rosa!!!! I have been with him since I was 17 and now both my 21 y/o daughter and my 18 y/o daughter are his patients. I would never allow my girls to go anywhere else because he is very professional and caring! believe it or not he was my OB during my pregnancies (with them) and now he is their GYN!! Since my daughter's are young and new to all of this, Dr. De La Rosa was very respectful, sensitive, professional and made my girls feel comfortable Dr. De La Rosa is also an EXCELLENT Surgeon!!! He has performed a few surgery's and procedures on me and the pain was minimal and the scarring was virtually invisible. The office staff is kind and cordial; they make you feel like family. The Office Manager is always prompt when dealing with the insurance company for any authorizations. She is also very accurate and prompt with any documents which need to be filled out or faxed. I totally recommend Dr. De La Rosa because he is an excellent Doctor and above all things he cares and will always go the extra mile for his patients. read more

One of the things that I like about his office system is that he is still the Doctor that gives you prenatal care and also delivers your baby. Wish I could give 0 stars. Had a 9am appointment. Filled out all my paperwork with the lady at the front desk with the lip piercing (she was very nice). And waited...and waited...and waited some more for the dr. So, the waiting room was packed and me and about 15 other pregnant woman sat on the floor outside the door in the hallway waiting. It was extremely hot in that building.... pregnant with morning sickness in a hot building, sitting on the floor in the hallway to be seen..really? After waiting and hearing people say that they have waited there for hours, its normal..I left. And glad I did because at 1 pm I got a call from the office. A lady apologizing that the dr couldn't see me that day and when would I want to reschedule. So if I never left I would have waited until 1 to be told I can't see a dr. Ridiculous! Staff seems nice, office is whatever, don't know the cleanliness because I never even made it into a room...but come on..the dr.
