We had heard plenty of horror stories from friends and family about moving companies, so we were a little nervous going into the process but Jay's Small Moves completely exceeded our expectations. Roberto and his team arrived right on time and had our condo loaded incredibly quickly. Even though we didn't have any boxes containing fragile items, they treated every piece of furniture with great care, carefully wrapping everything in moving blankets and plastic wrap before loading it. It was clear they took pride in protecting our belongings. They arrived at our new apartment on schedule and placed every piece of furniture exactly where we wanted it without any issues. From start to finish, including the drive across the Bay, the entire move took about four hours--roughly two hours faster than we expected. The entire experience was efficient, professional, and stress-free. We would absolutely use Jay's Small Moves again for our next move, and we've already recommended them to several friends.

For both moves, there were 2 guys each with 1 truck, and they were fast/efficient and polite/professional! Got the move done both times in under 2 hours. It took him about 20-25'. The technician was skilled, polite and efficient. I wrote them a check, but I was not given a written estimate, nor was I given a receipt. NO itemized information on the charges at all. It seemed like a lot of money!!! I called the secretary later that afternoon and she had the owner call me back. He listened to my concerns and we arrived at a compromise. So, just be informed of the charges beforehand and get multiple estimates if you can. Let's start at the beginning, there was a LOT FULL sign at the entrance, not blocking at all & I saw no attendant there bringing cars in from other lot or anything so I wasn't going to trust that, I slowly pulled in & surprisingly found ONE singular spot open right in front! I wasn't sure if it was a walkway to the front but the line wrapped around the next 3-4 spots so I knew I wouldn't be in any way. I got all my recycling in the first two wired bins I could snag near me, it wasn't until I was in line that I noticed a small sign, not even near the empty cans, that described what materials they wanted placed in specific bins. (There's wired & blue plastic ones) I don't believe I followed what they wanted exactly but they still took my materials! So that's good. I had a broken beaker in my glass & mentioned it to the gentleman doing the weighing & he told me they'd take it I'm fine! I watched as he weighed out my minimal amount of materials & then wrote me out a receipt of sorts. I got to the front, the lady on the right took my clipboard & then said the lady on the left will give me my cash. NOW, I had read Yelp reviews on this place before going & a person said a lady fitting this one's description had jipped her $10 ! Off of a $65 total! Insane! So I made sure to check my money before even turning around to leave, I could tell my amount was $11 & I flipped up the 10 & said politely, "this is only $10, I'm supposed to have $11?" She got flustered & apologized while digging out another dollar for me. I'm glad I read reviews bc I might've walked off & got in my car before realizing, then probably would've been too scared to say something! So that lady being a serial jipper & the state of the parking lot, potholes & no attendant are the reasons for stars knocked off! This place is so far east in Fairfield I might as well just go to VacaRecyling, I enjoyed that place!

I stopped by today to unload all my empty aluminum cans, plastic and glass bottles to recycle. I…read moreusually go to another facility in town. I wanted to try someplace new. Vaca Recycling seemed to be V Town's preferred recycling center, so, I thought today would be the day to see why. The staff are courteous and stayed busy weighing recyclables and returning the emptied bins to the area for customers to grab as they arrived. It was fast, easy, and painless. I didn't even have to show ID! (Only required on sales over $100). I was given a receipt in no time and I walked a short distance to redeem my cash from the convenient store in the same lot. The parking lot is small. But, not somewhere I couldn't maneuver through. Vaca Recycling is located on E. Monte Vista and Callen Road. It shares a parking lot with a gas station (Pemex? ..I believe it's called) I'll come back again when I have another load of recycles to unload :)
