Denise was very professional; she asked if I had any injuries, soft or tender spots, if she wanted me to target certain areas, the whole 9. She also asked how much pressure I wanted her to apply. I told her on a scale from 1 to 5, I enjoy a 3+, and that is just about what she did. Excellent. Prior to the massage, they gave me a robe, a foot bath, and a glass of wine. Certainly there are worse ways to get ready for a massage! After the massage, I went into a proverbial recovery room. It was similar to a salt cave of sorts. Janiel did my facial and she was amazing. She explained my skin and what type of products she suggests for me personally. This was my first facial so I don't have anything to compare it to but my skin was definitely glowing and soft when I left the building and now that it's a week later I can see the difference in my skin after having taken Janiels advice. I went on a Monday at noon and it was more crowded than I expected during the foot soak. There was a couple of small groups of women and they were talking too much in my opinion I just wanted a relaxing quiet foot soak with my mimosa. The salt room after my facial however was very quiet, relaxing, and refreshing while I enjoyed another mimosa. Overall I really enjoyed my facial treatment and would return for Janiels services. The other staff were friendly and polite as well. They took time to explain where to go and what to do. read more

Deneen is AMAZING! She did a great job on my brazilian, was friendly, professional, and a MASTER of her job! So fast, too! My skin is usually pretty sensitive but after her careful treatment I have not had ANY issues! My only grievance: before showing up to my appointment I received calls, emails, and texts telling me I need to arrive 30 minutes early for my complimentary foot soak. I arrive 30 minutes early plus extra time for checking in... but nobody said anything to me. When I asked why, the receptionist was confused and said there wasn't anyone to do it. I wish they'd told me that before I rushed over after work. I could have been more leisurely getting there. The facility was clean and moody in a good way. I felt very comfortable in all rooms and staff always guided me either physically or with clear directions whenever I moved from space to space. read more

I got an 85 minute massage at Joesph Anthony and it was luxurious! The appointment started off with me being shown the women's changing room where I got slippers & a robe. Once I changed, I was shown where I can get a complimentary foot soak. I opted for the lavender epsom salt in my foot soak and it was super relaxing. My bestie and I had a fabulous experience here celebrating her 40th. As the official day spa of the Philadelphia Eagles I knew it would be awesome but it still managed to exceed expectations. We booked time in the Turkish bath as well as massages. If there's one thing you need to know about me, it's that a bitch loves amenities. And Joseph Anthony has them in spades. Before the Turkish bath we were treated to a complimentary foot soak and a mimosa...and even another mimosa when we asked nicely. The spa coordinator Bella did a fabulous job of managing the flow of our day and making sure we were taking full advantage of everything they have to offer. The Turkish bath was a real one of a kind experience that I'd recommend to anyone. We opted for the body scrub thing which we applied ourselves after a brief tutorial. We both felt like some kind of empress from antiquity as we lounged around surrounded by beautiful mosaic tile and gazing at the fake stars. Fabulous experience. For our massages we were lucky enough to have Monica and Gina take care of us. They were both wonderful, professional, and attentive. Our experiences were both everything we had hoped for and we walked out feeling a level of relaxation that was actually slightly disorienting in the best way. But wait, there's more amenities! Afterwards we were taken to the salt room which is a lovely ambient room with comfy lounge chairs, a wall of salt which I guess has benefits beyond "oh that's so pretty," and some delicious chocolate chip cookies. Most unexpected but certainly appreciated! The bathrooms here could be considered an amenity too. The amount of hair and body care products available to use is a testament to the attention to detail Joseph Anthony has cultivated here. I loved everything about this place and I have been dropping not so subtle hints to everyone in my life that a JA gift card makes a fabulous gift! I can't wait to get back. read more

I have yet to have a bad experience at this spa and have gone at least 4 or 5 times now. Most recently, I had a signature facial & turkish bath body polish with Angel. Angel was one of the best spa staff I've ever had. She was easy to talk to and eliminated any potential for awkwardness that sometimes naturally arises in these spa experiences when you're laying naked on a bed. She was nice and quiet rather than super talkative which made each experience super relaxing. She really made sure I was comfortable the whole time. I loved both treatments so much, but a highlight was some of the massage work she did during my facial. She has the hands of an angel! read more

[573] I visited the Glen Mills location a ton of times so I wanted to check out this location as it's closer to my home. There is plenty of parking at this location. I was able to make reservations online which is great. I had Kate for an hour long Swedish massage which was beyond amazing. I'm definitely requesting her again. The lobby is really nice and relaxing. They also have a salon on premises so you can see the hair products in the lobby. When I entered the staff was nice and checked me in and asked me to have a seat. Next person comes in 2 seconds later and he asks her if she wants something to drink.... I guess I didn't want anything. I was worried as this put me off a bit but everything else was top notch. The bathroom was spacious and comfortable. Robes great. Slippers not so much. I'll bring my own next time. The slippers are made for women with thin feet... lol The massage room was very relaxing and I did not hear outside noise while having my top notch massage. The massage table was heated which was bonus. The brine room was very relaxing so I sat in there for a while to just "sit". It was definitely a good place to be. Online they had the promotion for a 3 month massage membership (at a discount). I guess it's normally 6 month but the staff honored the website since they never updated it from Xmas. I'll be back at least 2 more times but hopefully more as my massage was great. The two things they do need to add to the ladies room is a) a full length mirror and b) a small lighted magnified mirror (about $100 at bed bath and beyond). It was a bit dark (from what I'm used to) where I was putting my make up on plus for those with crappy eyesight would have a hard time putting on makeup properly. I'm glad they opened this location as now I don't have to drive as far and the treat can be more often. read more

This was my 3rd visit to the Springfield location. I was surprised that a hair cut and blow dry was $75 plus a $15 tip. I do like the cut, so I'm OK with the high price. My real complaint is about my shampoo. The person who washed my hair was rushed, seemed distracted and spent most of the time talking to another person. There was no scalp massage, which should be part of the process. I felt that she washed my hair, but my head didn't feel clean, if that makes sense. read more

I had to be in Philadelphia for a medical conference and had an open Saturday between my work trips to have a spa day and called all the spas and they were fully booked. When I landed upon Joseph Anthony the lady on the phone was so kind and accommodating. Once I arrived the next day jade was so sweet to welcome me, extremely professional and quick to offer me tea or champagne and take me to the relaxation room. They offered a hot foot soak with peppermint or lavender or both. The room was dim relaxing and the foot soak was heavenly after an 80 hour work week. I drank green tea with honey and relaxed in the Moroccan inspired dimmer lit room while I soaked my feet. Jade then came back and brought a towel dried off my feet and provided slippers for me to head to my massage. The massage therapist was Jasmine and she was sooooooo amazing. I would have to say one of the best 90 min massages I have ever had in my life and they use high quality natural lavender body oil. After my massage Jade brought me water and I spent some time in the dry sauna. She offered me more water and brought me dry shampoo since some of the oil got in the back of my hair. Not only are they professional, kind, accommodating but the facility was so clean. I have gone to hundreds of spas in my life and I can say that this is my absolute favorite and best experience. Jade and Jasmin went out of their way to make the experience extra special. I highly recommend this spa if you are looking for royalty service. The one thing I did not have time to do is the Turkish bath which I will try on my next Philadelphia trip. read more

Last time i went, it was at Glenn Mills and my stylist was about to have a baby. she is probably a teenager now. i'm glad this one opened . It's much closer. My hair was stringy band REALLY needed a make over. The saloon is beautiful. At first , i was a little nervous because I had scheduled a balayage and they were unsure if they could accommodate me. My hair was dark but. i didn't want to leave with something i did not want. Aly did her best to accommodate my needs. She listened: It's hair, it grows back . Do not get your hair done if you're not up for a change. I showed Aly a picture with purple and she bleached and colored and chopped and did one hell of a job! 7/19/20 had a 6pm appointment for an Elemis Luxury Pedicure. Checked in at 5:50 and was told they let the Spa person I had scheduled know of my arrival. I waited until 6:30 pm, thirty minutes past my appointment time, with no one saying anything. I've visited the Glen Mills location many times since it opened but because the one in Springfield was located far off the road in a quiet location I decided to try this one, finally. Both are great. I would say the Brine room at Glen Mills is far superior to the Springfield location. But what I love about the Springfield location is that it's located in a quieter area. Sometimes at the Glen Mills location I've heard road noise while getting a massage. Back to Springfield .had an exceptionally bad week So I was lucky to have already pre-booked a quarter of a spa day at Joseph Anthony. When I arrived I was immediately greeted and informed of exactly how my processes would proceed. And this wasn't just the receptionist but everyone I came in contact with addressed me by name and was courteous and professional. Initially I was taken into what is called a transition room for a complementary foot soak and beverage prior to the beginning of services. This is where I was greeted by Sheena who did my Aqua experience in the Turkish bath. I've been doing spa services for over 20 years and I have to say that the Turkish bath with the Aqua experience was the best service I've ever received. The warm table that I lay on combined with the warm waters, the body cleanse and body polish while listening to relaxing music in a room full of steam was something that transported me to another place. It was phenomenal. When it was over Sheena asked me how I felt and I was honest with her and saying that this was something incredibly wonderful to have experienced. I left there with my previously clogged sinuses now open and fully functioning. You don't even have to ask- I would love to go back again for this experience. After the Turkish bath I had a long massage with Neva. The room was warm and cozy with gentle music and I had a very relaxing massage with her. My muscles were lose and I felt energized. The end of my experience was in the brine room Which consisted of comfortable chairs in front of a fountain filled with salt. The music and changing lights along with the wonderful air made me feel relaxed. These 3 1/2 hours at Joseph Anthony were incredible. read more
