Found all the cute Valentine's Day finds on a recent trip! JB is always one of my favorite places to find fun gifts, and the staff is always super helpful. Virginia and Taylor were great at helping me put together some baskets of fun goodies!

Shelves full of local books on different topics.

I have traveled all over this great country of ours, and Joseph-Beth is the nicest bookstore I've ever visited. In addition to the incredible collection of reads, you'll find stationary supplies, which I appreciate because I still write notes and letters. I also totally get into gift giving, and their wide assemblage of wrapping paper and gift bags will make any present a work of art! There are so many things for kids, and puzzles, and games. If you're looking for bath and body items, you're in luck. Need a scarf, socks, or a handbag? Check. And I think they must carry every magazine in publication! There are several Kentucky-oriented displays dotted around the store showcasing food items, home decor, books, etc. Truth be told, all of their displays are beautiful and creative, like the vintage Vespa scooter. Zoom zoom! I just popped in for a couple of cookbooks, but I look forward to spending many hours exploring this Lexington gem.

This place is so freaking Cool. From the time you walk in the door you are surrounded by books and gift's galore. Plus the place is gorgeous inside. Very nice gift selection, great book selection and a really cool kid level. This is a moat go to place. You'll love it.

Such a cool book store! I visited from St Louis and didn't expect it to be like a Barnes and Noble. It was really neat in there!

Absolutely fantastic eclectic gift shop. Should be able to find something for anybody (including…read moreyourself) in here in the vast mix of items they have. Everything was well organized, reasonably priced, and just so much fun. The selection is honeslty a bit difficult to describe but truly contained such a variety of items, from specialty origami papers to fun matchboxes, decor, and various trinkets. One thing that stood out though was their incredible boom selection. The staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and would likely return, not only for gifts but to get myself a few items.

First, you must call to set up an appointment to shop. The store is small so they only allow a certain amount of people inside. They have different hours as well. Upon entering, they require a face mask and hand sanitizer before browsing the store. The location is literally right off campus. Parking can be annoying in this area. There is street parking in front or a small parking lot behind the store. Keep this in mind when visiting. There are a couple of other businesses located in the same building: a Korean restaurant (delicious) and a music store downstairs. If you're looking for a fun and unique store, definitely visit!

Each…read moreissue, near the cover page, includes a map of Kentucky with the counties featured in that monthly issue shaded. It is well balanced with a variety of topics of interest to most Kentuckians. Regular departments include Kentucky Kwiz, Across Kentucky, Curiosities, Cooking, Explore 120 Eats (A Quest to Taste Kentucky's Best), People, Off the Shelf, Field Notes, and Calendar. Of course all magazines contain advertising but the ads you'll find in Kentucky Monthly are all Kentucky related and blend with the contents of the magazine. I always find something of interest to read in the magazine. Even if I didn't the Guide to Kentucky's most interesting events at the end of the magazine provides a valuable tool for planning extra activities. It is not only broken down by dates it is also listed by regions (Bluegrass, Louisville, Northern, Western, and Southern). I've read the November Issue but now I'm outlining activities I don't want to miss in November.

It is informative, it is colorful, it provides a historical perspective for all things Kentucky. I have taken trips to visit sites they recommend, I have cooked food from recipes they print, and I have enjoyed the historical articles about Kentucky and it's sometimes eccentric denizens. If I ever leave Kentucky, and I hope to never do so, my Kentucky Monthly subscription will stay with me.
