I went in specifically looking for tide laundry detergent and coffee. So the tide was 3.00 cheaper then at the grocery store and the coffee which was Maxwell House was like 5.00 or 6.00 cheaper. It doesn't get much better then that. They also had a variety of Harry and David's popcorn which was cheaper then somewhere else I saw it. I ended up with some pine scent room spray as well again cheaper then other places for the same brand. The cashiers are always friendly and helpful. The line went pretty quickly so no complaints there. read more

I usually love the deals here. However, the person that arranges the book section must not be an avid reader. The books are all stacked on top of each other so it is nearly impossible to browse. The books should be on display in such a way that the potential buyer can see the title of the book on the spine. Because of the high volume and turn over of inventory, it seems almost impossible to keep things from getting unorganized while customers shop. I stopped by to see if I could get some coloring books for kids. This was the last night of business during the COVID shut down. I couldn't even get to the front door due to the thick cigarette smoke and the employees who were on break inside. Seriously. We are all trying to stay well during a global pandemic. I've noticed all of the Ollie ads at Rupp Arena and curiosity finally got the best of me. As I was driving down Richmond Road, I made a quick last minute decision to swing in to Ollie's. Not at all the place that you would expect could maintain that magnitude of advertising at Rupp. My first impression opinion was that it's just a Big Lots. Even the departments seem to be in the same places as Big Lots. This day, I wasn't in the mood to scavenge through so many discounted items. I strolled through the food section and saw a few Christmas items... it's March and I'm not in the mood to look over expiration dates. Yes, I'm judging the obvious. But who wouldn't?! read more

We visited Ollie's Bargain Outlet this afternoon. It is kind of like a Big Lots, but I do not believe Ollie's has its own brand of merchandise (i.e., motor oil, snacks, etc.). Ollie's has closeout items that didn't go over so well with the public. For example, Swedish Fish candy flavored Oreos or cheeseburger flavored Cheez-It. Also, they have items from bankruptcies and overages. So, you'll never know what you'll find during your visit. In regards to this location, it was clean, and the people were friendly to us. We were even asked if we would like to sign-up for their discount card. read more

I bought my mother-in-law a magnavox heater that she loved for Christmas. Ollie's is the kind of store it is a lot of stuff you do not really need. We did however buy a big box of dog biscuits here that has lasted forever. This store was a little messy and today may have been a bit cleaner. We did purchase some items a small heater and some Arnold Palmer tea. This was a rainy day and we were looking again for the same dog biscuits but no luck this time. The prices probably were good for the items we saw in the store. I do not think we would shop here enough to join the Ollie club. read more

This place is has plenty of neat finds but you might have to pick through the mess. There's not much organization in this place, and it could get frustrating. I try not to browse too long here as I'll get lost in the mess trying to find items. I want to give a special mention to their book area (didn't get a chance to picture it), it's quite extensive and it's for cheap. So if you have someone or if you yourself love books, come take a peek at their collections. This place could be a great place to find treasures in, but you def have to look around and dig around to find it. I bought some bathroom rugs from here and they appear to be good quality. It's been over month and they're still in good shape. So folks, shop at your own risk, it's really not a bad store; just ensure you buy a great quality product. If you like discount stuff this is the store for you. Stock rotates a lot, i'm sure it varies by manufacturers similar to Big Lots. Got a pedestal fan really cheap here. Lots of candy and food, really great place to buy bedding if you don't have several hundred dollars for the bigger stuff like comforter sets. Pillow case sets around $3... I mean, it's nice. It's fun to go through. Random books to go through as well. A great place to buy cooking odd and ends too. Pots, pans, silverware, etc. Nice selection of rugs in the back. I like the location in Richmond as well. Staff have always been nice here. Organizational wise, it's kind of messy. Stock can be all over the place sometimes but not to the point where i would knock it down a star. It's a discount store not a 5 star hotel ya know? I was curious about Ollie's and stopped by to see what bargains they might have as who, after all, doesn't love a bargain? So much merchandise, most of which had no value to me personally, but one woman's trash, as they say. The only bargain I took home were well-priced large Yankee Candles at $6.99. Perhaps, another visit might yield another deal, but I think you have to haunt Ollie's to find them. read more

This place just opened today and it was run over with bargain hunters from what looked like everywhere but Lexington. They have greats deals on some stuff and. It so good on others. This store doesn't that's as much as the Richmond or Florence store but it's better than Big Lots at the moment for smaller stuff. Check it out! read more

Occasionally, Ollie's has an unusual item at a good price. But, getting through the messy aisles and shelves is a chore, and most things can be bought at other retailers at lower prices. On a recent (and final) trip, I wanted to buy a package of chocolate-covered peppermint patties, that were 75 cents each, normally $1-$2 in most stores. Definitely a bargain, right? Well, I was third in a growing line, with only two cashiers, with one constantly having to help the other. At some point, I started my cell phones stop watch, and left after ten minutes had elapsed (keep in mind, I had been on line longer than that!). I won't be returning. read more

This place is like a lot of oversale stores. There's an overwhelming amount of merchandise. From food to books to rugs and outdoor supplies, you name it, they got it!
