I discovered this hidden gem and was excited to be able to do the pumpkin patches again with my kids. They have a large and small pumpkin patch that both my kids loved doing, fun, commentated wagon ride, smore making down by the river, great deal on pumpkins from the patch, putt putt, food truck, goats, and tons more activities. I also added the round trip kayaking which topped it off. The family was very involved and engaged with the visitors and super sweet. You can tell they truly enjoy sharing their farm with the community and seeing the happiness on faces. Now that I know about this place and all they offer, more trips are in store and can't wait to see what they add next year.

The river lends itself to those who want to take it easy or to those who want to do a quick trip down it. The scenery is beautiful; we have even seen an eagle on two of our trips!! The bed was very comfortable and the fireplace made it oh so cozy. The absolute stars of this B and B has to be the amazing couple that runs the house "B" & "B"! Barb and Brooks were the ultimate hosts; warm, charming, personable, knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Having breakfast in the fabulous dining room was the best part of everyday. Barb is a fantastic cook!!! When she offers you sour cream coffee cake, say "Yes!" It's a very quick walk to charming downtown Huntington which is super cute with great little stores and restaurants. We will definitely be coming back to stay again.

Kimmel house inn was so great that I ended up yelp hiatus to spread the word (it has been 5 years…read moresince I last reviewed anything). I stayed in the summer cottage, everything was decorated beautifully in antiques and every detail was attended to, from the fridge with soda, chips and chocolate, and fresh homemade brownies that waited us. The cottage is surrounded by beautiful gardens and a very friendly chonker cat named Lucy who will run up to you for pets (and might try to sneak inside the cottage if you let her). The breakfast was incredible with bacon, cheese eggs, perfectly done potatoes, and a platter of homemade pastries. The location is rural but it was close to the black pine animal sanctuary, and about 40 minutes away from Fort Wayne. It was a good springboard for all of the local breweries we planned to scope out, which there is a ridiculous amount of (or maybe not, you need something to keep you busy in these small towns).
