The art gallery is broken down into a few spaces, all winding into each other through doorways. The space is also used for events, weddings, receptions, yoga classes, you name it. I was lucky enough to check it out last Friday during the opening ceremony of "Crop It" - an exhibit being put on by the Visual Arts program at IPFW. The displays looked beautiful in the space and the talent was immense! They had a bar set up serving beer and wine (I don't think they can serve spirits?). The beers were local which was a plus! Parking can be an issue so be prepared to park on the street / potentially several blocks away. Can be a bit sketchy at night. Overall the space was lovely and I can't wait to attend another event or check out a new show sometime soon!

What a nice venue with creative people who seem to care very much about bringing together community and connecting people. Clearly they are passionate about what they do and the artists they support. Look for parking behind the building and the main entrance is there also (even though the street address is Fairfield Ave, parking is behind). A daylight visit is also in order to see the murals painted by local on the buildings exterior. I'm not sure how often artists works are rotated, but I asked how to learn about things happening there and was told the best way is to follow the Wunderkammer Company on Facebook. My husband and I were fairly set on still getting married on our original day, so with about a week to go, we reached out to Joseph Decuis. And we are SO GLAD that we did -- it was completely different from what we had planned, but we wouldn't have traded it for anything (even our original wedding). We rented their inn for the weekend so that our parents and two siblings could be there. The inn is absolutely beautiful! they have stayed true to the history of the home with their decor and it was gorgeous. Diane took amazing care of us, meeting every need and truly going above and beyond for us. She made us breakfast each morning and everything was delicious. They don't have a TV, so it forced us to be very present with each other and enjoy the outdoors while we were visiting. All of the bedrooms were beautiful and comfortable, the bathrooms were updated and quite large! We loved our tour of the expansive and beautiful grounds, seeing all of their animals, gardens, and the many farm buildings. Then the day of the wedding -- they did more for us than I could have dreamed possible! It felt like they personally wanted to give us a fairytale wedding. I rode to the ceremony in an elegant, white horse-drawn carriage to the spot we had chosen while on our tour -- they had showed us many possibilities along the way. Throughout the day, they took videos and photos so that we would have lots of memories of our day. The owner of the farm drove my husband, our photographer, and I around on a golf cart so that we could take photos in many different places. The food throughout our stay was amazing. The steak and lasagna were both incredible, with their wagyu beef. We also had the pork chops, which were just okay. All of the sides were delicious though -- salad, mashed potatoes, etc. I truly cannot say enough kind things about all of the staff and the property. They took a disaster and turned it into a dream come true -- all with about a week's notice! We can't wait to go back!

I was back here a couple weeks ago for a Halloween-themed wedding, and lots of memories came rushing back the moment I stepped inside. We saw a beautiful old building and walked closer to get a good look at it. It turned out to be the History Center, and we decided to check it out. It turned out to be a very interesting local/county history museum. You'll learn about immigration to the area, the most important industries, famous people born in Ft. Wayne, and more! The building previously served as city hall, and the basement is the old jail. A highlight of this museum is certainly walking the jail area to see the conditions those accused of crimes were kept in decades ago. This was a very interesting museum, and it was a wonderful introduction to the area for my family. We were lucky to happen upon it.

The Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory was a place I didn't get to spend a lot of time while in the downtown area, but I did enjoy the time I got to spend there. The conservatory has three indoor gardens and 1,000 varieties of plans (and 2,000+ plants). You can see cacti, palms, a chocolate tree and more. The conservatory was started by News-Sentinel publisher Helene Foellinger and Bill Sowers, a Fort Wayne attorney. The two often visited gardens and wanted Fort Wayne to have a similar experience. The conservatory opened in 1983 and houses 24,500 square feet of indoor gardens, four outdoor gardens, and is owned/operated by the Fort Wayne Parks and Rec department with charitable support. Fun fact 1: A beefsteak begonia was the first plant installed. Fun fact 2: In February 2024, the Conservatory had its three millionth visitor. Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for youth (3-17), and free for ages 2 and under. There's a $1 Thursdays deal from 5-8pm and there's no admission fee for the cafe, conservatory shop, or sales garden. There's venue rental available and quite a few classes to take. I generally found things accessible - maybe a bit iffy in a couple spots, but I could generally function just fine. I will say I didn't quite explore everything as I was on a schedule, but for what I experienced I really enjoyed it and could get where I wanted to get.

I took my young kids and they had a blast. The holes aren't very difficult so we got through all 18 in about 15-20 minutes. There was a lot of room between us and the people in front of and behind. Everyone patiently waited their turn for the next hole and we flowed nicely. It looked like there were 2 sides where you could go on, so there were 2 18-hole courses so there would be space for a lot of people. The arcade is like a lower budget Chuck-E-Cheese. Small but seemed like the kids playing the games were having fun. Overall good experience. I took off 1 star because they only served hot dogs with chips and the hot dogs take 15 minutes to cook. Never heard of that! Other than that, it's a cute place for a date or if you want an inexpensive place to take your kids. Kids under 3 are FREE and kids 4-7 are $3, which is excellent. I don't think the go-kart area was open, as there was no one over in that area.

When you first enter the building there is a small gift shop off to your left filled with little knick knacks and souvenirs- all of which are reasonably priced. There are a couple of kid themed learning centers in the conservatory. They're somewhat inconveniently located right in the first and second part of the building which makes for a somewhat congested and loud atmosphere filled with crying and running kids all over the place. The actual conservatory exhibits are something straight out of The Land Before Time. The rainforest, desert and floral exhibits are large, lush and well kept. I was rather impressed and quite surprised at how nice this location is since I'm spoiled in the sense that the botanical gardens I have in my hometown are rather extensive and pretty epic.
