This was an interesting experience. Not your typical comic shop by ANY means, but still pretty fun to see and marvel at just HOW MUCH STUFF IS IN HERE! If you're looking for old stock to complete a collection, chances are, this is where you want to be. Majority of the warehouse *is* old stock with a smaller section for newly released comics. To me that's not really a downside because if you wanted new comics you could go literally anywhere else. But if you're looking for treasures, hard to find older issues, or just older comics in general that you want to read and don't care about the resale value or the condition it's in, this is the place for you. It's a place for collectors and enthusiasts that are searching because they want to own something, not because they're trying to hold it for resale. As for me, I was able to grab Star Wars IV, V, VI in comic form which I never even knew they made, just $5 each. I think this is a must-visit for comic lovers and I'm SO glad our uncle brought us here. Even if you aren't looking for anything, you really need to go just to see how many comics are on these shelves. It's mind-blowing. read more

This place is genuinely amazing, and I'm glad they have walk in hours and I hope they keep them up. Imagine if you will an entire huge dusty warehouse full of damn near every comicbook that was ever published. This place is reminiscent of that iconic last shot of the warehouse in Indiana Jones but less well lit (though it probably contains about as many dead alien bodies). Don't let the vastness scare you though, the owner is super friendly and helpful when it comes to tracking down that one obscure italian comic from the 80s... the prices are great too, amazon-rival style, wholesale and overstock. Love that gems like this are around and open to browsing. If you want a comic, forget the internet, come here! read more

A very daunting place to step into--full of stacks and stacks and aisles and aisles of long boxes of comics--made instantly less daunting by asking anyone working there for help. These guys know the store like the back of their hand, are friendly, and will help you find whatever you're looking for. Not that you won't stumble upon some gems on your own, too! Keep in mind, this place is only open one weekend a month, so be sure to check the days on the website. They're also open by appointment, so if you can't make it on the days they're open, try and schedule a day to check it out. read more

This is a particularly fascinating place. It is only open by appointment or on its monthly sale weekends. There are stacks and aisles of comics, graphic novels, books, posters, portfolios, magazines, and then you will find yourself looking at records, toys, video tapes, and stuff that you may just wonder what it it.This is a warehouse, no doubt about it. It's sort of like the scene at the end of "Raiders of the Lost Ark." Organization is a little spotty, you may find yourself in an aisle that is clearly marked alphabetically, then in the next aisle will be shelves and shelves of unmarked boxes. Then you will stumble upon something you never knew you always wanted. Joe makes purchases of large collections often, and sometimes the stock is organized according to such purchases. On his sale weekends you will find table displays with stacks of 20 or 30 year old graphic novels, magazines, and comics that have never been opened. You may see that comic you have been looking for since 1977 just laying there on a table or shelf somewhere. And if you are looking for that hardcover biography of Joe Bonomo, he's got a lot of copies. The monthly sales have free snacks and drinks, and the prices are very affordable, and even a little flexible. It's like he actually wants you to leave with a lot of stuff to carry! Tucked away in an industrial neighborhood of waterfront in Brooklyn, it's a little out of the way, and it sure isn't one of those pristine, well-lit comic book superstores with all the latest stuff. But you will find something you have never seen before, Joe does know his comics, and I hear tell Joe is planning some special events for the space in the very near future! read more

If you love comics and you live in the city then you have to check this place out! This gem is located in Sunset Park near the 36 st station on the N,D,R lines. it's totally unassuming on the outside, it looks like any other warehouse in the area. The only thing that really gives it away was one of the transformers movie posters on the outside. There's a bunch of arrows leading you up the stairs, and then you're there! Other reviews already mentioned it, but it can't be overstated: this place is enormous! just when you think you seen it all, you'll turn a corner and there's yet even more comics! You could really spend the whole day there looking at all the comics, magazines, toy, and other assorted knick knacks they got there. There's long boxes of comics as far as the eye can see! All the comics are loosely organized but the staff is friendly and very helpful. The comics range in price, but there's a huge collection of dollar comics as soon as you walk in! If youre a true comic fan and new york comic con is too crowded/loud for your tastes, then this is a great alternative. it's a year long convention! They're open once a month (usually the first weekend of the month), they post the dates on the website so be sure to check it out. Can't recommend this place enough! read more

So let me say that I have been collecting and reading comics only fairly recently but i have been following arcs of current series consistently. I went in February for their monthly weekend opening and it was great! The place is an actual warehouse with fun little signs that direct the way. The warehouse it self is HUGE! It's a little chaotic and if its your first experience with comic stores/shops then you may feel overwhelmed. BUT do not worry because there are kind people there who will help you with what you need and even offer you a tour. They have their $1 comics everywhere and the $6 trades as well. They have some newer 50% off trades that are usually on the table. Pros: you may feel like a treasure hunter looking though all the boxes, tons and tons of comics to look through, prices are as low as they get, back issues in abundance Cons: they are comprised of collection buys and such, basically they buy collections of comics in bulk = they do not regularly carry NEW comics. So if you're looking for this weeks issue of superior or batman you need to ask ahead of time or go to your normal comic shop. Tips: bring cash that your willing to blow because you're bound to see something you want, give yourself enough time to look around. Conclusion: Worth the experience, I want to go again when I have a chance. read more

There are only 2 ways to get into this overflowing warehouse space: at one of the sales or by appointment. When a sale comes up, GO! Joe Koch, who is a real person and present at all the sales, and his staff of helpful folks want to see you leave with armloads of comics. And they want to sell them to you cheap! This is the Holy Grail of comic books and anything you'd want from the 90s era. Floor to ceiling of boxes and boxes of old and new comic books. Good prices, good deals. Bring a flash light, rubber gloves (dusty as hell) and maybe some hot coco or tea in colder weather because this place gets cold. Oh yeah, make sure you reserve the entire day for this because hours will just fly by. Make sure you have a way to get your stuff home because you will come out of this place with tons of stuff. read more

This is a real warehouse, loaded to the ceilings with comic, toys and collectibles. We were in awe as we received a tour of all the aisles. The Staff were all amazing, very helpful and knowledgable. We were able to find several hard to find books which completed several series. We will be back. read more

They get a one because of the way they handled my online order. Despite this store being in NY i took time to accommodate their hours so I can contact them. It took them two weeks to let me know the book I ordered was part of a set collection which they did not want to break. I had to keep calling them for updates and I needed that book for a final project for class. I'm a comic book fan and hate to to do this to a comic book store, but when you put yourself global on the web you gotta have your shit together. read more

This is for the hardcore comic collecting connoisseur. Prepare to spend a day here, there is that many comics here. Though the comics aren't individually priced do not worry! Joe the owner gives amazing deals, the prices I have gotten are at least 15-30% less then the price guide prices and that is whether you grab 2 or 3 comics or 50. Took full advantage of the discount yelp/Joe Koch offers through this site. If you don't have a car, this place is a bit of a trek to get to. It's a warehouse & a messy one at that. Highly recommend taking allergy medication, water, beef jerky & wear clothes you don't care about as you'll be here a while. Bring the discount & a wad of cash with you as this place has a ton of stuff to look through. Trades are 1/2 off or less. Comic prices vary as the owner likes to use the Overstreet Price guide to determine sales. Spent 3 hrs here & found some decent stuff. Main issue w/ the place is the complete lack of order. DO YOUR HOMEWORK...... While the Warehouse has a great almost limitless selection of Comic/movie/sports/entertainment magazines.....just do your HW as far as the price (Ebay,Google etc, etc) I saw a magazine on Ebay posted by them and figured "What the heck?" Why pay for shipping, whenI can go to the warehouse and pick it up myself. Ebay price for magazine (their own listing) was like $5 plus shipping, go to the warehouse and they " look up" the price ....$20bucks...... not cool........ just walked out disappointed Great to find those missing issues in your run you are looking to complete. Conditions vary, so prices should vary accordingly.. (most books are dusty ,yellowing plastic/ fine to very good condition)... another example, had a run of the mill bronze age issue (not a milestone or #1 or X-title) you would find anywhere for like $2 bucks......look it up and quote me $5 bucks!!
