No Dr for followup, no DR for infections, no DR, only PA or nurse!!! Only received attention once infection resulted with the emergency room with multiple antibiotics & wound care Dr of 3 months!!! Thank God for their care!!! BEWARE!!! read more

Saw Dr. Ricotta in hospital during another emergency admission. Needed to have the artery in leg opened up. This was done in his office after I was released from the hospital 10 days later. I read other reviews so I was a bit nervous. When I showed up for The procedure there was no mention of money (maybe other just have lousy insurance). Evet nurse I encountered was absolutely the nicest and seemed sincerely interested in making sure I was comfortable. I have never before met nurses and surgicsl Assistants as nice as thenones in Dr. Ricottas office. The procedure went as smoothly as I WAS HOPING. I dont know what I expected but it was tremendously Less stressful that I was expecting. I cannot say enough nice things about the entire staff. They are truly caring and were helpful thru the entire process. Suffice it to say I was not dealing with this particular procedure very well, myself. I cant remember their names but there was not one nurse that I would not give the highest thanx too. read more

I went to this physician the day before Thanksgiving - I had an ultrasound on my legs and carotid artery. The tech was great - Lana - and then I waited almost 75 minutes for the PA to arrive - I was getting annoyed - asking /requesting he see me. They hardly paid attn to me - I started to leave - he appeared - and by that time it was 4:30 and rush hour - and having lost it - I left - I called the next business day - and asked to just speak to the PA - Krishna - for 5 min to see how my test was - and they refused - they don't talk on the phone - Very upsetting - I sat with it for well over a month and then wrote a certified letter - I rec'd medical history in their letter telling me that the test was NEVER taken -it says "Procedure and treatment not carried out because of patients' decision for reasons of belief and group pressure." EXCUSE ME??? ?that was beyond BS - no such reason - they basically eradicated my results - never followed up - THE WORST DOCTOR EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD - AND I'M A SENIOR - If anyone who reads this cares about their health and well being - you would NOT want to go to an office that has so little regard for their patients - what an awful experience - and NO response to my certified letter - read more

The most beautiful office lobby and staff that I have ever encountered. First of all you feel like you're walking the red carpet when all the doors open automatically. You're greeted by smiling happy people and the waiting room is big and clean with many framed accolades of Dr. Ricotta. If you anre ever on an airplane with Dr. Ricotta and in trouble, he will be the first one to help you and he has helped many. Leo, the ultrasound technician called me back and was very professional, speedy and polite as he did my procedures. When he was done, Jill took me to get my vitals and put me in in an exam room. She was very professional, sweet and offered me water or coffee. She even brought me my sweater when I left it on the back of the chair. Then I waited for Katelynn Hirstein PA-C I was extremely impressed by her knowledge, professionalism and kindness. She explained everything in complete detail in a way that I understood. Overall experience was a 10! I have been in many doctors offices and many hospitals being a systemic lupus and kidney transplant patient and this office is top-notch and so Is Dr. Ricotta and his staff. I would like to start this review with the only positive thing about here. They always answer the phone, and everyone is nice. I have horrible leg veins that bother me. I wanted to use a vascular surgeon rather than just those vein places. His name came up local and read some good reviews on another site. He is at the doctor at "Prime Vascular Institute". When you call to make an appointment you can only see a PA. I saw Sara the first time (Bill #1) and she stated the first thing we have to do is an ultrasound of the veins in legs to see if they are bad at the main vein or just the ugly veins. I had to schedule an appt to come back for that which they were a month out! I go back for the ultrasound (Bill #2) and then had to see Sara afterwards to go over the results (Bill #3) in which case I was told that my right leg veins was **not** diseased and she recommended I wait a year and get another ultra sound. She did *not* recommend the use of the foam to treat the lower veins because of the risk of blood clot if they couldn't do the upper leg vein. Ok, I leave. I called back a couple of weeks later and wanted to see the actual Dr for a 2nd opinion. They made an appt 2 weeks out. My appointment was at 5pm I did not see the Dr until 7pm! 2 Hours of waiting, only for him to rush me through and say "yeah we can inject that with foam" I explained what Sara told me and he said "Im not worried about a blood clot, nothing has zero risk" and told me to make the appointment and rushed me out. (Bill #4) I made appt with another vascular surgeon for a 2nd opinion and wanted my ultrasound. A week after I asked for them I called again to ask if I could pick them up and Dr. Ricotta called me that night. I was in the car with husband so he heard the conversation Dr. Ricotta was bullish and was trying to get me to make the appt and have it done there. He even said "So what are you going to do ?" I said I had to talk with hubby and even my husband said he sounded rude. So glad I am not using him for my procedure. Which BTW the right leg vein IS diseased and able to have the RFA done, so the ultrasound they did was not done correctly As well as the new Dr did the ultrasound and follow up all while I was there so there was 2 bills. One for Dr, and one for Ultrasound. Not 4 They only care about money and certainly do not value your time at all read more

Dirty womans bathroom! No place to hang handbag in the restroom! No paper towels either!!!!

Dr. Ricotta was suppose to do a fistula outpatient procedure on me. It was only suppose to take about 1-2 hours. Over 4 hrs later it was completed, because he left his interns to do the surgery and they had a complication. Teaching is not leaving your students. Then I had to return less than a month later because they didn't do it correct the first time. This guy needs to be investigated by the Board of Medicine. read more

Patients beware. We suspect Dr. Joseph Ricotta committed malpractice causing death. Matter is now handled by Attroney. He was neglectful and when things went wrong, he didn't even bother to show up and was told "he's on vacation". He took weeks to communicate while patient was in ICU and when he did communicate; it was all meant to cover his responsibility, neglect and lack of care. read more

To call Dr. Ricotta and his staff inconsiderate would be an insult to the word. I start this review to you, the reader, as a stark warning - if you want to be pushed around by a Doctor who has little to no bedside manner or consideration for your time, be my guest. In my 63 years of going to medical appointments, I have never had quite the experience I have had with Ricotta. To rank him 1 star is an insult to Yelp's rating system, he is beyond bad. I had scheduled a simple outpatient procedure they asked me to be there at 3:45 for prep, and I arrived at 3:40 where one of Ricotta's 4 receptionists asked me to wait in my car given COVID considerations. Around 4:55 I went back in the office where the nurse told me Dr Ricotta was running late she said she would call me in approx 20 min to be taken in. At 5:20 no one came and I was in the parking lot alone. As any normal human being would do, I cancelled the appointment. Dr Ricotta called me at 8:00 that evening and apologized for being late. I told Ricotta that I did not mind that he was late, we all run late on occasion, what bothered me was that neither he nor his staff had the common decency to call me as I baked in my car for 2 hours in the parking lot. Beyond that, being left outside with little to no communication from any member of staff in ANY time is inordinately disrespectful - let alone in COVID times. As such, I am trying to have my extremely simple outpatient procedure done through another provider. As if Ricotta couldn't have made my experience anymore headache inducing, it somehow gets worse. By the time I write this review, dear reader, no less than 3 times have I called to have my records sent to the new Doctor. Dr Ricotta still not complied. If that's not inconsiderate, I am not sure what is. I wouldn't accept this behavior from my 6 year old grand daughter, let alone a licensed professional like Ricotta. Perhaps this isn't a question for Yelp but a question for the Florida Board of Health? That's how bad of an experience this was, dear reader. If you want to be treated like cattle by all means go there. I wouldn't refer Ricotta to my worst enemy, or even my HOA board - that's how bad he is. read more

I NEVER saw Dr. Ricotta - not before the surgery -not for the Surgery itself - not after the surgery. The first girl who did the ultrasound was great. Unfortunately, the girl doing the ultrasound for the surgery did not know what she was doing. She had to bring in the other ultrasound girl to show her which buttons to turn so that she could see my veins around my knee - which she then found. I asked to have the second girl (who seemed to know what she was doing) for my surgery and almost got up to leave when I realized I was going to have the girl who did not know what she was doing do the ultrasound when another girl came in to do the actual vein surgery and said everything would be fine. Unfortunately the ultrasound girl could NOT find my veins again as she had forgotten which buttons to turn and they had to stop the surgery and restart it for a second time above my knee (where the ultrasound girl could find the vein again). Each time required starting the needle and sliding it up which was NOT pleasant. Then the new girl doing the surgery would squeeze the lower part of my leg and ultrasound girl would squeeze the upper part of my leg so hard I almost slapped her. You have to sign a piece of paper when you register the first time at the office that you give Dr. Ricotta's "specially trained girls" to take care of you. I had no idea that meant he NEVER saw you and NEVER talked to you and HE DID NOT DO THE SURGERY. I would advise going anywhere else except there. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Ricotta's for 2 years. He has performed a number of procedures on my legs during that time including bypass surgery in April. I have always been very happy with the procedures as well as his care. Managing medical offices and procedures during the height of the pandemic was a challenge for all health care providers. As a long time nurse and a patient that was in and out of that office a number of times in 2020, I felt that the office (and the professional staff) did a great job given the circumstances. read more
