We've used Jose and his crews twice to remove large conifers from our back and front yards. His trucks are old, and they might leak oil on your street or driveway (have a drip pan on hand), but they get the job done. His crews work fast, steadily and efficiently. Removal and cleanup in our yard and our neighbors' yards was very good. Stump removal left us trying to remember where the trees even were. I don't know if he's licensed and insured (probably is, as he's been in business in greater Idaho Falls for years), but he did good work for us. We'd hire him again. read more

My experience with Jose's tree service was excellent. They came sooner than expected. They cut all four trees in one day, hauled off all the limbs and even cleaned up all the mess. What was most important to me is that the left the trunks and large limbs cut into manageable pieces and they made piles for me. Very professional and excellent work! This business is a joke, they charge $1200 to cut a white fur tree down, then when asked that we want to keep the wood, they won't let you. The take it and want to resale it to you for $300. The person answering the phone was rude as the come never felt with someone who was so rude to costumers. This business is a scam DON'T USE THEM, you will regret it in the end. read more

I was excited to use Jose's Tree Service after watching the fantastic job they did at my father in law's house. We had Jose (owner) come to our house and give us a bid for taking down 6 trees (two were large pine trees and four were small cedar trees). We were quoted $550 to cut all six trees down, haul away the wood, and leave the trunks of the two pine trees at 8 feet to build a lean-to around. The appointment was made for Tuesday at 8 a.m. The trees were located in our goat corral, so it took some effort to move all our goats to a smaller enclosure in preparation for Jose's Tree Service to cut the trees down as promised. Sadly, Jose's Tree Service was over an hour late. After they got there, Jose informed me that the price was too low and he is now asking for $1000 to cut down all 6 trees. He claimed that he didn't know about the second pine tree. He said the quote given was for one large pine tree and four small cedar trees. I know that isn't true as we had discussed how I wanted him to leave the trunks for both pine trees 8 feet high in order to build a lean-to. So basically--he wanted to charge an additional $450 for one, single pine tree the same size as the pine tree already quoted with the cedar trees. Absolutely not! We were extremely disappointed to be treated this way. If he low-balled his bid, then that is on him. He should stick with the original bid and do the work as agreed. He did a great job for my elderly father in law, but wasn't able to continue this pattern of great service. We don't recommend Jose's Tree Service to anyone. read more

My husband and I have used Jose's Tree Service ever since we moved to Idaho Falls in March 2015. We have eight huge trees in our yard, and Jose and his excellent crew have been here four times to prune dead branches from these trees. Jose personally shaped the big maple in front just last week. Once when we had a huge branch broken onto our back patio thanks to a fierce snowstorm with high winds, they came the very next day to remove it all. They are SUPER clean in their work, and you wouldn't know they have even been there if you looked at the yard. Jose is personable, and his services are very reasonable. Jose's Tree Service (Owner Jose) is efficient and has preformed two services for my home. Both instances, his staff was quick and did a wonderful job. On both occasions, his bids are within the affordable price range. Prior to using his service, I had another tree service remove a large walnut tree branch that had fallen onto the fence during a wind storm and it cost $300. Jose trimmed 5 older Walnut Trees and removed all the debris on the first occasion that, I used his service. On 4/5/2016 he came over and removed a tree covering my home, trimmed two May Trees, shaped some trees and shrubbery. They did a good job on a neighbors tree so I called, made an appointment for 9am, no show, called, the lady said he never works before 10?. Then she called back and said he was on his way. Gave me a quote to trim a large willow tree, set a time and date, moved a bunch of stuff to get the equipment to the site, no one showed up, no one returned my call. What would you think? read more

Have had this company cut down and remove 2 huge pine trees in the past for me. Did a fantastic job with cutting it down and stump grinding. Couldn't even tell the pine trees were there. So i hire you again for a simple job of topping a tree and trimming it. You wasn't at all careful at all and I'm still not sure how you managed not to destroy my other trees and other plants. Thank god you didn't because I work very hard in my yard. But then you go to the house behind me to do there tree and not only hurt there brick wall but ran into my backyard fence breaking it!!! You finish up the tree and didn't even bother to knock on either door to tell us that you caused the damages to our property!!! My boyfriend has to call your office and leave a nasty message before you come back to try and explain why you didn't let me know what happened. If I wouldn't of seen one of your workers trying to push it back into place Id never known it was you who caused the damages! Then you try and make me look like I lied to my boyfriend by telling him you did tell me!!! Straight up tried to make yourself out to look good when he already knew you was NOT being honest with him. You also charged me the same price to trim a tree as to cut down and remove a stump! Who ever heard of that. Id never recommend this company to anyone ever. If you can be dishonest and try to get away with something that you caused and do it to someone that considered you a friend is very wrong. Id NEVER put a friend or otherwise in a stressful situation like that. And then you actually come a few weeks later and still charge us a ridiculous amount of money for it.
