Competence in office management seems to be lost in the Light ENT practice, at least at the Route 441 office. Two people waiting for more than 40 minutes walked to the main desk and canceled their appointments, loudly announcing they would find an alternative ENT. While some delay may occur at any medical office, waiting nearly an hour as I did without some explanation paper than "backlog" and some assurance of corrective administrative action means it is time to scratch this practice from my list. There are plenty of other ENT practitioners around. Nothing I say goes to medical competence, though if a practice imposes such a strict if not impossible schedule on its providers one might begin to imagine rushed procedures and certainly a lowered level of concern for the patient. read more

What has happened to this office? Earlier in the week I wanted to set up an appointment with Audiology. The young woman on the phone said to just stop by, no appointment necessary since you need something minor. So, I arrive and they say I need an appointment. I told the receptionist that they said to just stop by since I need to sync my hearing aid with my new phone. The receptionist said that fill out this form and you have to wait. I figured I would have to wait but WHY did they not want me to make an appointment??? Dr. Light, you have a decent practice but I don't see your patients being pleased. ​So, an incompetent staff member causes me to waste time. I used to recommend people to you. NO more. read more

They have zero respect for the patients; we are just a copay to them. Took my husband to see them, we had the 1st appointment after lunch, they kept us waiting an 1 hour and 45 minutes, after I complained they put us in a room, then the Dr came in and since you are rushing us we won't fully be able to take care of you. Upon my physicians recommendation I made the mistake of making my daughter an apopointment. We showed up 15 minutes early to ensure they had all our paperwork completed. After sitting in the waiting room an hour and listen to multiple patients yell about waiting over an hour, I went up and asked about our appointment. I was told it would be at least another hour before we were seen, that our Dr (the one they chose for me to see) tends to "run over". Run Over? Two hours is not running over, that is ridiculous. My daughter missed 3 hours of pay and had a hard time getting off of work, not to mention waiting 3 weeks for an appointment to get a procedure done. Oh and I left out the part that we overheard the nurse come out complaining that we didn't schedule the appointment correctly and only .15 was aloted for our appointment. I most certainly explained over the phone what the appointment was for and made sure we would be seen for the procedure, then called and tried to change the appointment because she now had an ear infection and needed to be treated for that as well. Needless to say, we left, but not before they asked us if we wanted to reschedule, what a joke. read more

I was referred to Dr. Light about 6 weeks ago. I am a very nervous person and always have reservations about seeing a new doctor. My initial visit to the office was great and all the staff were caring and understood how I felt immediately. Dr. Light could not have been more understanding and recognized my fears immediately. He took the time to go over everything and answered all my questions. He also took the time to walk me around the office and show me the area where my procedure would take place. Dr. Light assured me he would make sure I was comfortable with everything and he and his staff were wonderful. Being a person who is claustrophobic and extremely nervous in these situations the entire team treated me like I was part of the family. Dr. Light checked on me a couple of times before the procedure and spoke calmly and kept telling me I was going to be fine. The procedure went well and everything I was told was spot on. In the afternoon after the procedure I was getting ready to call the office to ask a question and they called me and asked how I was doing and that everything I was experiencing was normal. Went back for post op visit and he remembered who I was and was just as understanding and calming. I would highly recommend Dr. Light and his team for any E.N.T. evaluations or procedures, one of the best doctors and teams I have had dealt with. If you want 1 star service for a 5 star price, look no further. Being forced to pay a bill of $523 for allergy testing when it was sold to us as $25!! My sister came in and was told the test would be $25 for allergy testing, which was confirmed by multiple employees. Once the test had been taken, my sister received a bill for $523 on 04/25/23. We contacted the office about this absurd bill and they promised to call us back. On 05/24/23 we were sent an updated bill of $664. We called back at least 20 times after the manager never called us back. The office promised each time that the manager, Amal Short, will call us back and she never does. The office said we must not worry and that she will resolve the payment issue via email. We have waiting months for a call back. We have now been threatened via letter that we are being sent to collections with extra costs. At this point does Amal Short even work at Light E.N.T and do the doctors know that that their office does not care about their patients? Hopefully we will receive a call back after this review. read more

I have suffered from benign paroxysmal, positional vertigo in the past, but it was quite some time ago. Once again two weeks ago, I woke up with severe vertigo, and knew immediately what it was. I contacted your practice, and in very short order was given an appointment. When I came in, I was interviewed by a nurse practitioner, whose professionalism and quality of service was A+. Then I was introduced to a young lady who was the "Epley maneuver technician" and she was equally skilled. And finally, I saw Julie Daugherty, NP-C, PhD. I cannot tell you what a pleasure it was to be in your office. From the easy parking, very efficient and simple check-in process, the overall immaculate nature of the office, to the professionalism and high quality of each, and every person who saw me, I could not have been happier. Most important, within two days I was completely cured. Now I understand that this condition can and likely will come back, but I will certainly be calling you folks for another appointment if and when it does return. I've been suffering from Tinnitus for abut 6-7 months. It comes and goes a few times a week... I finally was able to get a referral to an ENT! I called and made an appt for 2 weeks out, gave them all my info, could've gotten an earlier appt but this was the date/time I wanted. The office is very clean, the staff is very polite and helpful. I had 1 dr for my hearing test, she was GREAT! She explained what she would be doing and what it was for before she got started! Excellent and thorough examination of my ear canal and eustachian tube. I would highly recommend this Facility for an ear examination.

After experiencing ear itching and pressure. I felt like I had ear wax built up (sorry TMI), but having ears which produce more wax than some other people, I found out it's hereditary and so I can blame my family tree. Recently I was traveling by airplane so I felt more discomfort in my ears. Going on some future trips, I wanted to get this sorted out before flying again. I chose this place due to the close proximity of my house as well as good yelp reviews. Dr.Light was not the one I had a consultation with. Gina Lowy was the one who took care of me, she is the physician's assistant and really has a charismatic personality. Based on my visit with her I would give 5 star review to this office. She explained why my ear felt itchy, what oil I needed to use and prescribed me this. As well as cleaned my ears with vacuum kind of instrument. I have an appointment again in 6 months to see how the oil helps my internal part of my ear with the dryness. And I made sure I have appointment again with her, she was excellent. Tip: You can pay credit or cash co pay. Wait time is about 30 minutes when I went but they scheduled me for next day, so I did not have to wait multiple days before appointment. read more

This place is a joke (the Boynton beach location). I went to the office, saw the practitioner name Dougherty. I was sent for several test which they never sent the prescription to the place doing the test. I had to call them two weeks later which they returned my call after I wrote a bad review on their website which got their attention, in order to get some help. A month later I went for both test and never got a call even to this day for a follow up appointment to review the test or tell me the next step. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I'm in the process of looking for a new ENT doctor. They need to replace the front office and the office manager because it's his/her duty to ensure patients are cared for, not to mention Dr. Light himself. read more

In the last two years I have seen Dr. life quite a few times and each visit has been professional courteous and dr. late insight has possibly saved a major neurological problem from occurring in my case. Not sure why when calling this office, the receptionist answers and always places the call on 10-15 minutes hold. Went in for allergies and was told when leaving the pharmacy would call when ready. It is now 3 hours since the appt. Called the pharmacy and no prescription was called in. Called the Drs office and again placed on 10-15 mins hold. Finally spoke with someone and was told prescriptions were called in at the end of the day. Does this office understand people come in because they are sick and need medicine to feel better? In modern day and in any other Drs office the prescription is sent to pharmacy on their computer and mostly while your still in the examination room. This office and staff has changed. Update, they over charged me for the procedure. They charged me more than an in network provider is allowed to charge. How isn't their estimate based on the max. amount that insurance allows? I can get the info before a procedure and you mean to tell me a doctor's office cannot? Now they have my money and I have to wait for them to process a refund. Additionally, they also didn't automatically send me an itemized receipt as they said they would. I just got of the phone requesting it again, it was available, now they are putting it in the mail. We'll see if I have to call again to receive the money I was overcharged. They shouldn't be permitted to charge more than negotiated as an in network provider. If they do that to every patient, looks like they get extra cash flow to keep their practice running at the expense of the patients. Still extremely unsatisfied with the care I received. All I wanted was my ears cleaned which took away the vertigo last time I went to them, and took it away again. However, the PA stated that could not be causing the problem. I strongly disagree and still think they do unnecessary procedures to collect more $ than they are even permitted to charge. I am going back to my previous ENT that was further away, but at least they communicate if they are going to code and bill just looking at your eustachian tubes as surgery! This was all done by a PA without ever leaving the room to consult with an actual doctor. Typically, PA's just do check ups, not something coded as surgery! read more

I had been going to the allergy department for Dr. Light and ear nose and throats associates for about 6 months. My insurance covered the allergy treatment but another 6 months after I stopped the treatment I was put into collections for unpaid copays? I never once got asked to pay a co pay when I went in for treatment. I saw Dr. Light's PA Gina for a minor ear wax removal and was completely satisfied with the professionalism of the entire staff. Everyone was pleasant and eager to help me even though it was minor problem. Gina did a great job and went beyond what was expected to make sure both of my ears were working optimally. I was surprised at the end when the billing specialist worked to get me the fairest cost. In my opinion Dr. Light's office puts patient outcomes before practice profits. 1st appt. we saw Dr. Light told Him Husband was suffering from sinus problem. They recommended surgery.. so We came back for the next appt. they took My Husband in for a hearing test. I said wait a min. My Husband had a hearing test, a month ago and Dr. light had a copy of that. $$ So My Husband has the surgery, He was still suffering and coughing a lot. I asked Dr Light If it was possible My Husband could have a Fungus? Since My Husband used a CPap machine? He won't not give Me answer. Because My Husbands symptoms before the surgery were the same as after. 9 months of antibiotics, He was getting weaker and weaker, lost 20 lbs + he was not heavy to begin with. Went to another Doc, had a endoscopy and found out he has Candidus fungus in his throat and esophagus. My advice don't take antibiotics more that 2 months. Only weaken your body and create super bug. My Husband suffered for 1 1/2 yrs. This Doctor is arrogant and won't listen to You. Get another Docs opinion. read more

I had stapedectomy surgery on August 17 of this year by Dr Joshua Light. The hearing loss in my right ear has already gone from severe to mild in less than one month, and will improve more when I see him in six months. He is absolutely the best Dr.!!! I'm lucky I found him and so happy I have hearing back in my right ear. It was a wonderful experience and Dr. Light is very thorough, very intelligent and very, very nice. read more

What an incredible experience going to see this doctor. Doctor Light is a very talented ear nose and throats specialist who I was very fortunate to see. Although his office waiting room is busy, which to me is a good thing, the way the front office staff manages the patient control is really mind blowing. You actually don't feel like you are waiting long at all. It is very very efficient. The most important part of the visit is when doctor light comes into the room, you feel very secure and safe with all the knowledge that he brings. No rushing, explains in detail the situation, answers concerns and questions. Being fellowship trained as well as an expert in hearing and sinus, I couldn't believe how he has a full allergy department. I actually was sitting next to people in the waiting room and they specifically drove an hour to see him. This man attempted to make me feel guilty and stupid and overly concerned about my ear health. I have had sinus problems my entire life and have been a patient of Dr Light for about 4 yrs. This past Nov. 3rd after suffering another sinus attack for 8 wks, made the decision to have him perform Balloon Sinuplasty. It was one of the best decisions I have made. He made it easy, painless and was only in the office for about 1 and 1/2 hr. No down time, some congestion after for about 1 week. Went on vacation 1 month later, went swimming and never even thought about my sinuses since. No more sinus drip, no more headaches and can breathe out of both sides of my nose like I never have. I have to say that Dr. Light and his office were a breath of fresh air. I have suffered from sinus problems and infections almost all of my life. At some point in time I decided that this would just have to be the way of life. Until I met with Dr. Light. Let me start off by saying that his staff is not only exceptionally professional, but efficient, and accommodating. As a working mom, they worked around my schedule to get me in. When I met with the doctor he took his time to explain to me what my actual problems were, and then proceeded to explore treatment options with me. He also went as far as to squeeze me in to get tested for allergies (also conveniently done in his office) the very same day. His medical assistants were also very genuine and caring. They made me feel like we knew one another for years, and not just someone on their check list.
