DO NOT GET AN INSURANCE HERE…read more I got a policy through Rudy Brown, and there always seems to be miscommunication from the coverage to how premiums are charged to how cancellation works and more. I had to cancel the policy with so much incompetency and was charged 308 dollars in excess of what was discussed before cancelling. There are many great companies (sonnet, belairdirect, cooperators, etc.) that you can get coverage without paying brokerage fees for inept employees here. Also, now I'm paying half the price with literally double the coverage! Not having the ability to communicate directly with the insurance company was a pain point as well. I asked for an experience letter that was expected to arrive in 7 days but came after a month after me following up 5+ times. We are in the times where brokers are not adding any value in getting insurance. Please don't make the mistake I made and avoid this place.

If I could give less than one star I would. I had an accident on August 26, 23. It was a hit and…read morerun and the truck that hit me was stolen. As it was a Saturday I had to wait till Monday to report it. I was unable to drive my car and needed a rental. The first insurance adjuster did not contact me at all. I had to call her on the following Thursday. She approved a rental and asked me to send her some documents that were needed. I sent them in right away and expected to hear something within the next week or so. After this I was unable to contact her again. I emailed and called over and over. My emails and messages went unanswered. For almost one month until September 25. 23 no one contacted me. Finally on September 25. 23 another adjuster called to ask me the status of my claim. I told him nothing had been done. My car was still where the tow company had left it. No one had even looked at it. He told me where he was going to take my car and to call the tow yard to release my car. I called them again. The tow yard told me that the insurance company had not contacted them yet but they would release it. They said that if my car was not out of the lot by October 3, 23 it would be scrapped. I emailed that message to the adjuster. The next week I contacted the auto body shop they were going to take the car to and they had not received my car yet and they were not taking any more towed cars. My car was still in the tow yard and nothing had been done with it. Again I could not get a reply with emails or calls. It turned out that the only thing the adjuster had done was cancel my rental. On the Monday morning before October 3, 23 I start calling the adjuster at 6 am and at 9 am I called my insurance broker. She also started calling and she also emailed the manager. The adjuster finally called me back. He had not even called the auto body shop because he said they were going to take the car to the same shop. I told him they were not taking cars. He then had to send it to a different shop. He gave me the name of another shop. He did send it to another shop but when I called them they told me the insurance company had not given them my information so that they could contact me. They also did not have any information from the insurance company. I had to give that information to them so they could contact the adjuster. When I called back to see how things were going at the auto body shop 48 hours later they said the insurance company had not sent a release for them to assess the damage yet. By this time I was sending emails to the adjuster, the manager and the broker. The adjuster finally sent the paperwork. The next week (almost two months after the accident) the manager emailed that I would have a new adjuster who would tell me if my car was a write off and/ or how much the settlement would be. By the time this third adjuster called me I was so angry the poor guy got blasted. I will not be using this company after my policy comes for renewal. I would not recommend it to anyone.

Economical is in the insurance business, right? Wrong!…read more Economical is a collection agency. First, they over-charge customers for insurance - auto, home, whatever. Then, when you switch from Economical to a lower-cost carrier, better watch out! Economical (their name is an oxymoron) sends you invoice after invoice for insurance you did not want! To add insult to injury, they turn over your personal information to sleazy collection agencies. They don't respond to mail Buy your insurance from the Co-operators, or from Wawanesa, anybody but Economical, which is anything but!
