The YMCA is on the smaller side however I like that. Every worker I have met there has been so kind. In saying that my son had swim lessons there and they were always so patient. The exercise room is nice and everyone seems nice to each other. The child watch crew is very nice and trust them completely. This is one of the nicest YMCA's around.

Not much to look at from outside. Parking lot and drive are in poor shape. Hours are kinda weird…read morethat they open for a few hours and then close and reopen. Once inside it is older decor but appears clean. Prices are ok and not crazy for skating. Did not try nor see the food prices. Staff was all friendly and helpful. Biggest issue is the skating floor which is in very poor shape. I have never been to a rink with this type of floor. It appears it is plywood covered with an epoxy. It is very uneven and you can see the seams of the sheets of plywood bending up making the floor horribly uneven. Makes skating much more difficult with the floor in poor condition. Most rinks I have been to have the better basketball court style flooring covered in varnish. Kids had fun skating but this place could use some updating.

This nature preserve has a nice location adjacent to both Big Bear Farms Park and Adventure Park,…read moreand is located behind Scioto Ridge Elementary School. It also connects to a paved greenway trail. Because of this location, there are multiple entrances into this beautiful woods - there are several behind the school, and several that meet up with the greenway trails. The trail itself is nicely mulched, which helped decrease the amount of mud, although there were some muddy spots so keep that in mind for footwear selections. There are several nice basic bridges that get you across a stream and near vernal pools and a small wetland. It's very pretty and relaxing, and your visit to the area can easily be extended by continuing your walk on the greenway trails. Very nice area!

A simple Google search of 'Dublin Learning Academy ABC News' will reveal another instance of the management's incompetence as well. Our 3-year-old attended this daycare for 6 months with the intention of staying until kindergarten. However, due to the toll it took on our mental well-being, we had to switch. Initially, we were pleased with the teacher in the potty-training room. However, towards the end of our child's time there, the daycare changed their potty-training expectations without informing us. One day, our child came home with an unexpected accident and the director informed us about our child would be moved to a different classroom with younger children without any prior notice. Despite our attempts to communicate with the director and owner via email and phone, our requests for feedback on establishing clear expectations for our child's transition were met with radio silence. It became evident that they had little concern for the well-being of our child. We shared our communication with friends and family, who were appalled that such words could come from a childcare provider. It was an absolute nightmare. In short, the management team at this center is unprofessional, lacking in communication skills, and fails to prioritize the needs of the children in their care. Don't trust the director's words during the tour; they won't address real issues affecting your child and will make decisions without considering your child's best interests or informing the parents beforehand.

My son attended DLA just for a short time until we were able to find a more affordable option. The…read morecare he was given was wonderful, and he was well taken care of. We got pictures through Tadpoles every day and he looked like he was enjoying himself. The director was very kind and accommodating for a first time mom. We decided to switch care centers for a few reasons: The deposit was pretty hefty, and the tuition for the infant room was $1400/ month. I personally couldn't afford that much, and was able to find another facility down the street they was less, for the same level of care. One thing I have to say is that my son got very sick while there, in just one month. I don't believe it had anything to do with the caregivers not trying their best to sanitize- I believe they did. However, if kids contract a disease like HFM and have to be out for a whole week, there is NO tuition relief. I paid full tuition just to send him for 5 total days in a whole month. ( he was that sick!) If there is a diagnosed illness going around the room, the only way that I was notified was with a tiny 8/10in printed piece of paper on the door of the room. If I would have known there was "hand foot and mouth"in the room, I wouldn't have sent him for a few days. However, since they don't immediately notify parents with a message, and I live 30 mins away, there's nothing I could do. I had to drop him off in the infected room, and of course he got sick. (And I also caught HFM and a flu bug in two weeks time) my whole family was ill. Overall, DLA met my expectations, but if my son is going to be THAT sick all the time from daycare, I can't afford to pay full tuition if he's out for weeks at a time. If there was some sort of policy where there was tuition relief for major illness, I would reconsider. Also, I think it's a parents' right to know immediately with a phone call or message if there is a contagious illness in the room BEFORE drop off. (Not just a note on the door) This is why we ultimately made the choice to move.
