At one point he randomly walked off and we were like "uhhh what". Then he came back and continued taking our order. What arrived at our table was a combination of things we ordered and things we definitely did not order, with some things we ordered missing altogether. The food: good. I loved the saag paneer and the daal. The lamb chops and chicken tikka masala weren't as good as Tayyabs, the chicken being notably worse. Price point was about the same. Our total was only £20 pp though, so definitely felt like the food was a good value. Between 3 and 4 stars at this point, so the deciding factor for me is the fact that neither stall in the women's toilets locked. Overall, Tayyabs and Lahore are, on paper, very similar restaurants, and Tayyabs (in my opinion) is the clear winner.

This dahl here was not inspirational, not the sort of dahl to order as a last meal, nor sell a kidney for, it wasn't mouth-orgasmic, but it was OK and the rice and saag chicken made up for it. At just a shade over a fiver, this place may see my bot on one of their chairs again very soon. I noticed a few locals having lamb biriani with what looked like rather crunchy and pleasant fried chicken, but I can't vouch for it. I accidentally had a KFC once, it was the second worst thing I have ever put in my mouth.

We ordered veggie samosas for starter, SCW had the Channa Masala, and I ordered the Aloo Pak and some garlic naan. We also ordered two beers. The samosas came out first with some raita. They were incredibly good. So well cooked on the inside and bursting with flavor. I wasn't quite expecting the heat that slowly built but the raita was a good balance. SCW's Chana Masala was excellent, so well spiced and cooked to perfection. My Aloo Pak was incredibly flavorful and delicious. The spinach was so tender and melted in my mouth. The garlic naan was excellent as well. The interior is nice and warm and welcoming. The service was great as well. I definitely would come back here in the future given the chance. One of the best Indian food restaurants I've enjoyed so far.
