The church has had its share of beloved parish priests, including our current one, Fr. Perry (Pericles). There is so much they do for the St. Paul community. One of the main things is FOCUS on Rice St. Throughout the year they collect food and clothing for this organization. They sure feed you throughout the year. This year I got to participate in the Greek Festival. It had been awhile since people came out for this and the end of July, it was mobbed with people waiting on their gyros, which come from parishoner, Dino of Gyropolis. It's so organized behind the scenes, you really don't wait that long. Then there's the bake sales to die for. They welcome everyone and have their fair share of converts, myself included. They offer much in the way of continuing education including beginners interested in the faith. The services, especially Easter (Pascha) are so beautiful and spiritual, I don't even feel like I'm part of the world when I'm here.

The building is more than 2 years old. The Mosque association is still working on some improvements such as building a community center with full kitchen to hold events. There's a great gym inside with a basketball court. Right across gym, there are 4 classrooms for Sunday school. Theres a separate room adjacent to the main prayer hall where mothers can join the prayer with infants and still be able to see and listen to the Imam. The Mosque runs a community food shelf once a month where people in need from any religion can come and pick up food. About 2 years ago, we were looking for a new parish, because we were unhappy with our current church. We "church-hopped" for several weekends, looking and evaluating where we felt "at home." When we attended mass with Fr. Bob, we finally found our new home. The church is very welcoming without being overly "touchy-feely" (as my dad puts it). Since we have a young daughter, we were looking for something that had youth involvement. Granted she's still a baby, so she can't quite participate yet, but we're looking forward to the day that she can. This isn't a church that has grumpy old church ladies doing funeral luncheons, as we have found them all very kind.

Inside was very organized social distancing and of course all wearing masks. More surprised by the breadth and quality of the music, both instrumental and vocal. Additionally cameras operating to film for real time streaming and a sound booth to rival NFL live. From the parking lot to the preachers, lots of sincerely friendly people and a simple message to remind us of why we seek spiritual community...love God...love others.

Despite having four young children (13, 6, 5, 21 months) and a baby due in August, we were denied aid. The church explicitly confirmed they have the resources, but refused to help us solely because our landlord (Paul L. Anderson Properties, LLC) is currently facing criminal charges in the county.A tenant has no control over their landlord's personal or legal actions. By implementing a blanket ban on assisting families who rent from a specific individual, this church is actively withholding help from vulnerable children and pregnant mothers who are completely innocent bystanders. If you are a renter in the Hudson area looking for unbiased, compassionate crisis support, please be aware that this ministry vets your landlord rather than evaluating your family's actual emergency.
