Kristin was truly one of the best investments and contributors to my pregnancy and labor…read moreexperience. From the very beginning, she supported both me and my husband by teaching us birth basics and coping techniques that made us feel prepared and confident. When labor started, Kristin was there every step of the way, staying up through the night texting and calling to calm my nerves and guide me through each stage. She continued that support at the hospital, being by my side from 6am to 10pm until baby was here and healthy. Although my original plan was to have an unmedicated birth, complications arose, and Kristin supported every decision I made without judgment. She advocated for me with the medical team and made me feel safe, heard, and deeply cared for as a first-time mom. I truly can't imagine going through this experience without her, and I would recommend her to anyone looking for genuine, compassionate, and knowledgeable support.

She is personable, knowledgeable, calming, and incredibly easy to connect with. Throughout my pregnancy, Kristin met with my husband and me multiple times in our home and taught us so much about labor, delivery, and advocating for ourselves. Because of her, we walked into the hospital feeling informed and confident. I had a very specific vision for my birth plan, but as many births do, things didn't go exactly as planned. After a very long labor, I ultimately chose to get an epidural -- something I hadn't originally wanted -- and I truly cannot imagine navigating that experience without Kristin there. Every time a doctor or nurse explained something or asked me to make a decision, I looked to Kristin for guidance and support. She helped me feel empowered, informed, and cared for every step of the way. She spent 24 hours with us at the hospital, captured the most beautiful photos of our birth and golden hour, and supported not only me, but my husband as well. Her support didn't stop after birth either. During my postpartum recovery, when I could barely walk, she continued showing up for me in the most thoughtful ways -- making padsicles, bringing muffins, helping me with breastfeeding, and making sure I felt cared for during such a vulnerable time. By the end of it all, she felt more like a friend than just a doula. I'm so grateful for her and truly can't imagine my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience without her.

I found Renea online & met with her a few days later in our home. I knew by the end of our meeting that she was who I wanted beside me as I labored and gave birth. On the day I went into labor we were in constant communication via text. Once active labor began she came over to my home (with all of her essential oils!) and worked through the contractions with me. She was a strong supporter for me during this intense time! She came with us to the hospital and was right by my side as I delivered my son. We hired her again for our second-born son's delivery and she was with me, again, during active labor and at the hospital. We also saw her for a postpartum visit after each delivery. It's been 2 years since we first hired her and we are still friends. I text her randomly with a question and she is quick to reply! I've said this before and i'll say it again--i wouldn't want to birth my babies without Renea by my side!

They both did amazingly during my entire prenatal and postpartum timeframe. The actual birth was great too! I went into labor around 2am and they were at my house within the hour! As always, they were so encouraging and helpful during the process. There was a moment when I felt like giving up, of course by then it was too late, but even still they were so supportive! Again I say, I will definitely be calling them again next pregnancy and recommend them over and over.

The ladies at Family Centered Birth embodied everything I was hoping for!! They truly practice informed consent and do the research outside of social media and societal beliefs. I was recommended this midwifery by a outsider doula (that right there says a lot!) While trying to make my decision, I spent over an hour on the phone with Lisa, the office manager and Doula. We had great conversation and I immediately knew it was a great match. Office visits throughout my pregnancy were great. My 3 year old daughter and husband were able to be in the office, we never waited more then 5 minutes to be seen and they took as much time as needed answering any questions. The office is a very comfortable, Laid back atmosphere and yes, Genevieve (the midwife) and one of the student midwifes had their young, breastfeeding babies with them...I personally appreciated this culture and it never took away from my appointment. Midwifery is just that...workin mamas supporting other mamas and their babies! The hubby and I took the 5 week Hypnobirthing course that was included in our midwifery package. The class was taught by Lisa and we absolutely loved it! Keep in mind, we attended a local hospitals birthing course with our first pregnancy, we both agree this was much more valuable! When it came to delivery, Kate was our midwife. We gave her very little notice to make it to our home delivery before baby haha but she got there much faster then I expected. Kate is very calm and reserved but confident in her skill (with over 10 years experience). I was very happy to have her with us! Our son was born in the comfort of our home, in a birthing tub with my 3 year old daughter in the water with me the whole time and my hubby and mom at my side. This means a lot because we are in the middle of the Covid plandemic and hospitals barely allow the father to be present, let alone other family. We also had Lisa as our doula at the birth. She was a great resource and there for me the second I needed her! She also took the most beautiful birthing pictures that I will forever cherish!! A few weeks Postpartum I had some healing concerns. I text Kate and no questions asked, the very next morning she was at my house to check things out (we live about 1 hour away from here)...you won't find that at any doctors office!! We thank them very much, this birth was literally healing to my soul and a much quicker healing process than my previous hospital birth

I found Labor of Love by doing some of my own research online. And thank God I did! My doula,…read moreKaren, was my rock throughout my labor and was 100,000 percent amazing--I'll definitely be working with her for my second! A little backstory: I was overwhelmed and so nervous about finding "the one" person to be a part of the most important event of my life. After doing my research and reading through all these bios, I honestly was left feeling overwhelmed, especially knowing how indecisive I can be. I knew I just had to trust my intuition and my gut on this one! After looking at Karen's bio on their website, I had such a good feeling. Staci (the owner), who was super friendly and professional, helped me get connected with Karen, and I booked an interview right away! Karen was so sweet and asked me about my pregnancy experience so far. We discussed how I wanted my birth to go and any concerns I had. There wasn't any pressure to hire her, and it just felt like she was already invested in me, like I was already family. I even had her video chat with my husband to make sure we both felt comfortable and vibed well together--and we sure did! Overall, Karen ended up being the perfect balance of knowledge, experience, and professionalism. It was the most perfect amount of care I could have asked for. She was also such an advocate for my birth plan to work out. Before, during, and after my labor and birth, she was always naturally in tune with what I needed. She was never overbearing, worked so well with my husband, and gave him space to be a part of my support team as well. I am so grateful to have come across Labor of Love

My experience with Labor of Love was almost two years ago now but continues to upset me when thinking back on my experience. We hired Lauren as our doula, who made it clear she expected us to go far past my due date as a first time mom. While it's possible for that to happen, it didn't in my case. At 39 weeks and at 5am while in active labor and getting ready to head to the hospital, she let us know she had Covid. Her backup was Karen, who I wish we hired to begin with as she is far more caring and professional. Though unfortunately our experience still fell short and we ultimately delivered without Karen present. We were left feeling like we invested a lot of emotion and money into this process with ultimately no help. Staci has been incredibly rude to us since then and even revoked our access to watch her training videos, sending me a link to pay her once again when wanting to rewatch for our now second baby on the way. Karen herself even recommended we ask for a partial refund due to our experience, but Staci lacks the professionalism and courtesy to her clients. Truly mindblowing that she revoked access to the training videos after we had already paid for them. I would stay far away and recommend a more experienced and caring doula group.

As a first-time dad, this class taught me so much about how to stay prepared and how to be a strong advocate for mom while she's in labor. I went into this wanting to make sure I could actually help and not just be "dead weight," and this class delivered exactly that. I really appreciated how Lia explained that every birth is different, and showed us a variety of experiences from other couples. It helped me understand what to expect and how to support my wife through whatever direction our birth might take. I also loved that I had to actively participate--taking notes and learning alongside my wife really prepared me for the big day. We also enjoyed meeting other couples who are going through the same process. It made everything feel more real and more supported. When the time came and we arrived at the hospital, I genuinely felt prepared because of this class. As first-time parents, we absolutely recommend taking this class with Lia. She is very knowledgeable and reassuring (which I really appreciate as a first time parent!), has excellent communication skills, and is willing to help in any way she can. If we don't have a lot of specific things to get done, she intuitively finds a way to match what we need that day. In terms of both emotional support and the physical hard work that it takes to care for a newborn, she is always there for us. Thank you Moon Sister!

Monica did not disappoint. She was amazing and she lessened my postpartum anxiety and helped eased my family's transition from a family of three to a family of four. Monica has a warm and professional approach. During the in-home meeting, she listened carefully to mine and my partner's concerns and worked with us on the hours and days we wanted her to provide postpartum doula services. When she was working with us, she would anticipate what we needed or wanted - such as helping with picking up, sweeping, dishes, and taking out the trash - without us asking. Primarily, I needed assistance with my older child (2yrs old), such as watching her so I can get some sleep, take a shower, or just have a break. She was amazing at both watching my child and helping out around the house. Monica also provided some knowledge on diastasis recti, different holds for the baby when she has gas, and how to wear baby carriers/wraps. At the end of each session, she checked in with me about whether all mine and my family's needs were met and how she could better assist us for the next session. She listened carefully and came prepared for the next session. Both me and my family looked forward to each session because she made the post-partum period easier and less frustrating. I recommend Moon Sister Doula to my friends that are pregnant or trying to get pregnant.
