We got our cow loaded into the cooler and we got a credit for not taking the boxes. So of course we went inside to buy some chicken and smoked sausage and bacon (with or without the rind) that they slice right there. Amazing pricing and service was quick, helpful and knowledgeable. They ship too which is good to know since it was a 2 hour drive for us.

You'll come in on a well-kept dirt road, and see some of the best real estate given to pigs anywhere. No uninviting "Ew, this is a meat farm" smell, because they're fair about taking care of their pigs; they do it right. The products are somehow both cheap and amazing. Even the mild sausage has a bit of a kick, and the way it fries up was a revelation to me the first time I cooked it. You'll get an amount of drippings equal to what you get out of your average bacon - perfect for making a killer gravy, sauce, or soup. Speaking of bacon - it's very high-quality, traditional (no, there aren't three different wood smoke variations or, sadly, thicker cuts), and under six bucks for a pound. They even had some free-range eggs from the farm, good stuff. I haven't had the ribs, ham, or pork steaks yet, but considering this visit, that's on the agenda for later. Grabbed a pack of their burger patties and the wife picked out some Popping Pineapple sausage. I threw the sausage on the grill at 300 the next morning with breakfast. I can't remember the last time I had some fresh pork sausage. This blend was awesome. It was a bit too spicy for my wife but my daughter had no problems with it so it' was medium heat. Great excuse to go back for some mild so the wife can enjoy some. I don't think I have ever had fresh bacon so that is on the list for next time. The boston butt turned out perfect after 13hrs on the smoker. I marinated it with some Notorious P.I.G rub from their shelves of seasonings.
