The staff is all friendly and considerate, I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes for my appointment and they do a great job of explaining the billing process with insurance, etc. Andrea, the hygenist, is thorough and careful. Dr. Thielen is personable and gentle on the mouth. They use nifty technology to store all the x-rays on their computer and even have a little camera they can use to take pictures of teeth so you can see those cavities hidden in molars. I chose him because, well, he was the closest one my insurance covered. Fortuitously, this was a good choice. Dr. Luttmer has been operating as a dentist in Hyde Park Square for decades now. He's a staple of the community and operates an excellent dentist office. The clerical team calls to remind when a cleaning is due and calls to remind the day before of an appointment. When I arrive at the appointment time, I'm almost always seated within minutes. I typically schedule cleanings during my lunch hour and usually have a few minutes to spare. The hygienists are quick, friendly & efficient & Dr. Luttmer always checks their work with a smile. The office has multiple chairs & generally pretty busy. Smart staffing & scheduling keeps everything moving along efficiently. The office is somewhat modern, though the chairs have a vintage deco vibe. Parking is pay lot or street meter generally and can sometimes require a walk given the busyness of the square. Dr. Luttmer get's a full recommendation as an excellent choice for a regular dentist for the Hyde Park/Oakley/Norwood area. The office/ billing person took a long amount of time to run my insurance and she called them with questions. She came back with a price for my portion of the procedure. I had to pay this price in full before it could be started. I also asked that they get the X-ray from my other dentist since I had all ready paid for them, when I made the appointment. The dental assistant said they did not get my xrays , but that they would not charge me for them. The temporary crown was not comfortable and I had more pain with the temporary than I did with the loose bridge. I felt as if they rushed the temporary since it was a holiday weekend. Today I received a bill for 128 more dollars. No list of charges just a PAY NOW bill. I noticed when looking on my insurance that the out of network doctor s prices were covered in full. So looks like my visits and my family will gravitate to the dentist with reasonable prices and a honor when giving pricing for procedures. I have had other procedures at my other dentist and I have never been billed more. So your 128.00 bill cost you much more since my spouse needs a crown.

The Dr. is thorough, knowledgeable, caring, and personable. I really like the location. It is set in Hyde Park/Oakley area and in a cute little office building. There is always ample parking out front and it is a safe area. They are located on the main floor, just follow the signs and you can find it easy peasy. The staff is always super nice and attentive. I am always greeted when walking in and not left to wonder if I need to sign in or if I am going to be left waiting or anything. I have always been taken back in a timely manner and have never had to be there more than maybe 45 minutes in total for a routine visit. Dr. Ott is super nice and a great dentist. The hygienists are always thorough, painless, and thoughtful. They think about the whole picture of your oral/teeth health and take your insurance into account when deciding on testing.
