When it came to delivery, I got a call from the deliveryman as he left their home base and once again when he got to campus. When he arrived, he set everything up and then gave a quick tutorial to our people who would be working each station. Later on for pickup, I sent a quick text and he was there within minutes to swiftly pick everything up. Couldn't ask for anything more and you can sign us up again for next year. During an event where I need to be in multiple places at once, to know that I could rely on CCC to handle everything it needed to made my day that much less stressful.

Over the two months that we were in touch with her, Roey consistently failed to communicate in anything remotely resembling a timely manner, citing every excuse under the sun. Here are some examples: 1. It was her birthday so her texts were delayed (?) 2. Her e-mail wasn't receiving messages (3 times) 3. Her e-mail wasn't receiving OR delivering messages (2 times) 4. Her website was down 5. She "lost" my fiancee's e-mail 6. Her phone wasn't delivering text messages (4 times) 7. Her assistant was supposed to take care of it 8. She was at a funeral 9. She was unexpectedly having a root canal You will notice that not a single one of these excuses has anything to do with her professional career. We know that wedding planners are busy and had Roey told us she was working an event or was tied up in preparations for another wedding, that would have been 100% acceptable. However, while we are also extremely understanding of the occasional personal emergency and chalked it up to a fluke the first few (!) times Roey failed to get back to us for personal reasons, we quickly started to run out of patience. After a pretty constant battle on my fiancee's part and a lot of very delayed, long-winded, and rather bizarre "explanatory" e-mails in response, Roey ultimately provided us with zero usable vendors. Everything we booked while under contract with Roey, we found ourselves. Needless to say, we terminated said contract. On July 19th she agreed to refund our $2500 deposit. On August 14th, after five e-mails from my fiancée as well as several text messages, we still hadn't received our money back. Guess what? Her assistant was supposed to take care of it. THEN apparently fraud was detected on her account and she had to cancel the check. However, as soon as we began to file with small claims court, (with the support of our lawyer who wholeheartedly agreed that we had a cut and dry case) the check was immediately "in the mail and on its way," though it still didn't make it to us for another ten days, FIVE WEEKS after we initially asked for it back. Here's the thing: a wedding planner's primary job is to make your life easier. Roey will not do that. We switched to Starling on Bond and they have been ten thousand times more helpful in the two weeks we've been working with them than in the two months we wasted with Roey. Please save your money and your sanity and trust someone else with your big day!

As Mike has been in the business for 20 years and the glowing reviews on Yelp, WeddingWire, and the Knot, I made the mistake of booking him. Mike loves to march to his own beat and is extremely disorganized, ill-prepared, lazy, inattentive to details, unprofessional, outdated, lackadaisical, and quite frankly a bozo. While I was impressed by all of the vendors at my wedding, I was seething and cringing by Mike's countless mistakes. As other Yelpers have noted, Mike is highly skilled at mixing beats for Hindu/American fusion weddings and getting everyone to hit the dance floor. However, Mike caters to the crowd rather than to the bride and groom. There's "no magic", here are Mike's top 8 blunders which I confronted him at the end of my wedding night: #1: Using an old schedule that was 2 months old! After 3 phone calls with Mike and sending him a few revised schedules based on feedback that he provided, he used the 1st schedule that I sent him with wrong bridal party names, songs, and times! He neglected all of the changes that we discussed on the phone and failed to use the new schedule that I sent a week before the wedding like he requested. When 5 names are mentioned, but only 2 women and a man walk out to "Sister Sledge" playing, that's a blunder! #2: Missing Cues/Repeated stepping of glasses. My fiancee and I are highly private people and don't enjoy long kissing sessions in front of our parents and friends. We actually took out all kissing pics from our slideshow. During the reception, after a big frown and shaking of the head after the 1st stemming of glasses, Mike initiated and continued to round up the crowd for additional stemming of glasses. It got so bad that some of the bridal party members broke some of the glasses in retailation. The stemming of the glasses is a topic that I also wish Mike discussed with us before the wedding so we could have easily prevented this embarrassing mishap. #3 Announcing the grooms name first and then the bride's name. A big no-no! "Peter and Aarti Pruitt". Mike believes in men first, even at weddings. #4 Playing songs on the "Do NOT play list". I hate "Gangnam Style" with a passion and it was among the 20 don't play list. Not only did Mike happily play the song, but he refused to change the song when I asked him to! That wasn't the only one... #5 Begging for a Big Tip. Mike isn't shy about charging top dollar $3K and the audacity to ask my father for a big tip before the event! The bozo loves to overpromise and underdeliver. My dad was way too nice to tip him $200. As a firm believer of tips, I honestly would NOT tip him. #6: Trying to Upsell at the WRONG time. Mike and I had a couple of minutes before the reception started. Rather than using this crucial time to discuss making any last-minute changes to the schedule (ex. moving things up as we wanted to skip sunset pics due to the weather), instead Mike kept trying to repeatedly sell us on the dhol guy. I hate BHANGRA, why would I pay extra for it? #7 Forgetting to play the cake cutting song. I was looking forward to hearing my favorite Baby Love during the cake cutting, too bad I never got the chance to hear it! #8 Not taking full ownership. After confronting Mike about all of the blunders listed above, he kept deflecting and making excuses. Despite repeated emails and phone calls before the wedding, Mike was very ill-prepared and was "winging" it at the wedding with sheepish grins. While I appreciate Mike's apology for his mistakes in a follow-up email that he sent, he doesn't take away from the painful memories that I experienced due to his careless mistakes. He single-handedly ruined the reception. Not once did Mike make it about the bride and the groom, it was more of Mike's day and pleasing the crowd. If you want to make your day special, I recommend tuning him out and enjoying the beat of someone else.

Things that I should warn you before you FINALIZE the place and event, the party broker is not responsible for EVERYTHING. - There's a service charge for a bottle service (I was not aware of that) - Make sure the Location you pick has a good selection of cocktails / drinks for your friends and check the average price for each drink (So your friends won't complain about the spot) Also some locations do charge a gratuity AUTOMATICALLY on your credit card. (I told my friends to bring CASH just in case) - Music and crowd.
