They were communicative throughout the entire delivery process and worked with me when I needed to change the quantity of mny order. A couple of people from Big Dawg have contacted me since my review, mostly trying to defend themselves and encourage me to reconsider. The business owner has also now replied to my review with some false information. As I mentioned, some of the fault likely lies with our venue coordinator, who claimed to contact Big Dawg when we recognized items were missing, which delayed our initial outreach to the company. We were extremely thankful that they held onto items that were in their possession - to clarify the owner's response, we didn't realize these particular items were missing until January 7, at which point we reached back out and the items were found. So three items were sitting there for 2 months with no claim of ownership, which is rare in a city where every inch of space costs an arm and a leg. All this to say, there are countless ways Big Dawg can better communicate with customers about lost items, about disagreements, and about reviews. They are taking the "bully" approach, misusing information and records to obfuscate my claims, repeating the mantra that everything is pored over by several people with event inventory in hand, and then claiming that's actually impossible, and calling and emailing me requesting I take down the review because my story is false. So sorry, Brendan & Big Dawg. You're just digging your hole even deeper with every poor customer service interaction. read more

After having to cancel our wedding due to Covid we contacted Big Dawg to see about a refund of our deposit. All of our other vendors (the venue included) gave us a full refund. Big Dawg refuses too offer any refund. They said they'll only give a credit and that was them "going above and beyond". We are no longer having a big wedding and instead we are doing a quick courthouse ceremony so we won't need their services. Also, we're moving out of NYC in April 2021 and Even with that information, they wouldn't consider any refund. I spoke with the owner and our sales person and both said there is nothing they can do for us. They've basically just taken our money. The owner was supposed to call me back but instead we received an email saying there's nothing more they can or are willing to do for us and they the credit is all they'll offer. I had such a great experience using Big Dawg Party Rentals ! I was putting together a party for a client in Prospect Park, BK and had to research rental vendors when I came across Big Dawg. I had a great experience with Christina who helped put together proposals based on what I needed, always friendly and responsive. There were a couple of issues onsite (as always when dealing with a public park, unannounced park events, and road closures!) but the delivery driver Barry was super polite and went above and beyond to get the rentals where we needed them to be and ontime. THe quality of the furniture and linens were also great and really made an impact for the event. I would definitely recommend them and will be using them in the future. read more

BEWARE! Went with BDPR because appeared to be all in one rental company. Made rental and deposit 5 months before wedding and two days before wedding all hell broke loose. This was all 2 days before wedding, deposit taken, and stuck with them. 1. Swapped our 100 chairs for a different color without notice. 2. 2 days prior notified that they didn't have many of our silverware and plating we required after we finished all our planning. Spent 2 days before wedding finding alternatives @ IKEA. 3. 2 days prior notified didn't have proper heating plates for our caterers 4. Took ALL of our power strips ($150), coolers ($300), bowls and plates (IKEA), string lights ($300), equipment, decorations, EVERYTHING and claimed to not have it 5. Claims we are missing a table 6 days after event. Why was this not addressed at pick up? Why is it 6 days later after we've left NYC that we have this complaint?! Go with professionals. We used Big Dawg for an event in September and honestly if there were 10 stars to be given they would get them all! Our company does a large 2 day event that hosts over 4,000 people in a raw space - it's a lot of work for our team and our vendors. From the first call I made to Big Dawg they were so nice, pleasant and professional. They got us everything we asked for so quickly and even made helpful suggestions. Every time I called or emailed I was greeted with a "Hi Brittney!". Especially working with a lot of vendors they were so patient and understanding when we added and/or swapped things out of our order. When it came to the day of the event their team arrived early and patiently waited for access to the loading dock. They set up so quickly and efficiently - such pros! When we realized that we forgot to add 60 trash bins to our order I asked if we could have them within the next 3 hours if at all possible and I was told with a smile "They'll be here in an hour". Big Dawg played a big part in making our event a success and we couldn't have done it without them. Not only is their team AMAZING but their materials (tables, chairs, linens, pipe & drape) were high quality. The staff is very, VERY, helpful. I worked with Keisha and she helped me coordinate the details of my event pretty well. On top of that, she was very patient and courteous which made this wedding planning very much stress free! The set-up crew is very punctual and courteous as well, they were pretty helpful in offering tips in case a problem came about. Nonetheless, the quality of the materials provided very top notch, and it transformed the community hall of our mosque into a 5 star banquet hall. Big Dawg had the initial food service items we needed. It was also easy to add items to our order as we continued reception planning. Used Big Dawg 2 times now and must say they have exceeded expectations. First experience was for a smaller party and I had to call them last minute, not only were they able to deliver in time, with short notice the delivery team was happy and accommodating with my venue restrictions. The next time was for a much larger party (200+) attendees. I was very hectic to get this event organized and was relieved at the help and support that Big Dawg provided. They accurately recommended the amount of equipment (tables,chairs,cutlery,lighting). They never tried to take advantage of myself or my company(wed'd been burnt before by other party rentals) but not Big Dawg. The pick up and delivery of the large amount of equipment was extremely efficient and professional. The two workers Patrick and Moose were able to clean up the entire party in such a short time, we couldn't believe it was only 2 of them. I have nothing but good things to say about this party rental company. Their prices were among the lowest, the quality was wonderful, and they were very professional and reliable. My husband and I got married on a cruise last year with only a couple of people present so after many cries from our family and friends, we decided to have a post-wedding reception to celebrate our nuptials with our loved ones. We wanted to keep things simple but beautiful and didn't want to spend as much as we would have on a typical wedding. So we rented a raw space and got to working and so one of the biggest parts of getting the space together was getting furniture and linens. Upon first visiting their website I could tell that Big Dawg was professional. They had so many colors and types of linens to choose from and when they arrived, the colors were as vibrant as they had appeared on the website and looked like new. Justine at Big Dawg was pleasant on the phone, very professional and super quick on email questions/requests. Even though our order was small, she gave us lots of attention. For the day of delivery they gave us a delivery time of 9am to 12 and I wasn't there when they arrived at about 9:30 as I was picking up the flowers for the centerpieces. It was probably around 10am when I arrived. I felt so bad to keep them waiting outside in their truck but the driver was calm and easy going and said it was no problem at all. The pickup of the items after our event was equally as pleasant. I would highly recommend this company. Along with their excellent customer service, reliability and array of items that they offer, they were the cheapest and way cheaper than the pink hippo company. read more

The worst customer service experience of my entire life! When I called the company, they were not very forthcoming about their policies. No one informed me that I would be charged before I even received the service. Nobody informed me that they were not open on the weekends. They just took my info and ran with it. I ordered for pick up on Saturday drop off on Sunday. I even noted so on the form. Nobody corrected me or let me know that was not possible. They assumed that I was going to show up on Friday. But when I did not show up on Friday, nobody called to ask if I was going to pick up my order. So, I show up on Saturday, after looking for the warehouse for over an hour (yet another lack of foresight on their part. No directions?! Your location is difficult to navigate. There should be detailed directions on your site...), with my zip car van costing me $40 an hour, only to find out that no one is there. I called the office multiple times I left multiple messages and no one was replying. I finally got a call from one of the owners yelling at me, saying that I have no right to be upset and that I should've showed up Friday. He told me that he was on his way and that I should be grateful that he's even showing up. When they finally show up, they proceed to disrespect and demean me even more by telling me I lack common sense (multiple times, mind you) and that I better feel lucky that I'm even receiving the items I ordered. What happened to the customer is always right? What happened to just common courtesy? I asked them if I never showed up to pick up my things would I still be charged and he said yes. Why would I be charged for service I didn't even receive? In fact, they charge you immediately after you order, not after you return the items. The fact that they would've taken my money if I never showed up is disconcerting. At no time did I receive anything resembling an apology. I left feeling absolutely appalled. And to top it off, they gave me the wrong poles for my cocktail tables! Not only was the experience off-putting, but the order wasn't entirely correct! If I could give them -5 stars, I would. I would never recommend this company to anyone. They do not value their customers AT ALL. They even go as far as to blatantly disrespect them. You never know who your customer is, or who they know. What kind of party rental place charges you for on time delivery? Amazing company. Their staff is so helpful, it was my first time planning a party and I definitely could not have done it without them. They were so accommodating through the numerous changes I've had, as well as being understanding when the venue changed the pickup time at the very last second. In addition, Mel & her team who I worked with helped me double check everything, making sure linens were the correct size for the tables, correct qty. etc. They very much helped plan this party as much as I did.
