Buyer beware!…read more International Door installed my original garage door two years ago. It is 12 feet wide. Garaga, the door manufacturer, requires cross bracing for doors 12 feet 2 inches wide or wider, but not for the 12 foot wide door I had installed. International Door never so much as mentioned that I should consider a cross brace for my door to prevent exactly what happened. The wind blew the door in. That $3,000.00 door lasted just two years. International Door wanted $2200.00 to repair the door they installed two years ago. $1300 of their quote was labor. Brisk Doors did an outstanding professional job for just $1300. International Door would have charged me $650 for each hours worth of labor had I accepted their quote. When I asked for a quote to repair the door that they charged me $3,000.00 to buy and install, International Door chose to exploit an existing customer to make an unreasonable profit rather than stand by the door they recommended and installed. The entire repair took less than 3 hours with about $500 in parts. I highly recommend Brisk Doors in Gorham over International Door in Lewiston! Dave Close is the owner. He charged me $900 less than the insulting quote given by International Door in Lewiston.

First, I received a call back after leaving a message immediately (like within the hour). I called 3 other contractors, 2 of them never returned my call and a third called back after P&R completed the work. Rick came out to my house the very next day to survey the damage and take some measurements. I had an estimate for the work within the week and they started working right after that. Rich and Jake made great recommendations for how to refurbish the basement (suggesting vinyl flooring instead of the carpeting). They installed all the flooring, repaired all of the baseboard, fixed the covering to a load-bearing beam, painted 2 rooms with 3 different paints (2 coats each) and even installed sump pump so that the flooding that happened will not happen again. They did all this work in 1 weeks time and at a great price. They worked hard and were willing to answer all of my novice, homeowner questions the entire time. Since this initial work we have had them reinstall a backsplash for out kitchen counters AND Rick came out on a Sunday, during an emergency where my power breaker was tripping every few minutes. You're simply not going to find a better contractor that P&R. My wife and I are putting together a master list of projects that we want P&R to work on in the coming years and are looking forward to having them continue to add value to our home.

We recently moved across the country, from Seattle to Maine, and in transit, our "professional"…read moremover managed to completely shatter all four of the glass shelves that go into my curio cabinet. I sent an email to Hour Glass to find out the cost to make new ones, and Dan replied promptly with an estimate. The cabinet in question is a corner cabinet, and the shelves are very odd shaped - six sides in total, almost a gem shape. I went down to Hour Glass with the most intact pieces of the broken shelves so they could try to recreate the exact dimensions, but the entire back side was too far gone - they were going to have to attempt to guess the length of the back sides based on the information I could give them. I picked up my new shelves yesterday and was thrilled that they fit -- and they look great. At all times, everyone I spoke to there was very friendly and helpful. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone who needs any custom glasswork done.
