Approx $54 w/tax The hotel has a homey feel from the time you walk in the front door all the way to your room. The rooms feel very clean. Especially the beds, I hardly ever sleep under the blankets at hotel a because they normally look/feel/smell weird/gross, but I did not feel that way here. Showers had good pressure and heat however there was no shampoo or conditioner just two small hand soap bars. Only downfall I would say. Plenty of towels and rags. Also has a decent sized flat screen TV. Rooms feel kind of old school, vintage. There's a sitting area downstairs with complimentary coffee. There is also a small porch with chairs as well. If we are in the area would definitely be willing to stay here again.

Exhausted after a long day of work, I check into the hotel to find that the only king suite is on the second floor and they don't have an elevator. I had to haul all my gear in four trips all the way through the hotel and up a flight of stairs because - of course - the keyed entry on the side door right next to the stairs doesn't work! I really wasn't into hauling my stuff in multiple trips to the second floor so asked if there was one available on the ground floor. The front desk lady said that it was the only room of the type I booked that was available and that I could switch to a double (no suite) on the ground floor instead. I opted to keep the suite. When I went back down after finding out the tv doesn't work she said the WiFi doesn't work on "that side of the hotel." That side?! It's not a big hotel by any stretch. And she couldn't be bothered to let me know this before I decided to keep the king suite? I would have chosen the downgraded double just to have working WiFi and tv. It was an absolutely exhausting and infuriating experience after working an 10 hr day and driving all the way across CO. Front desk person has zero communication skills. No coffee maker either. After I got home, I checked my bank balance and my account was almost empty. Charged me a total of $610.00 and he said my dogs trashed his room. He was very snarky and wouldn't listen to any thing from me and hung up on me when I called to inquire about the outrageous price. The "pet friendly" room had very old nasty carpet that was already stained in two places that I noticed. My two very small dogs used their potty pads perfectly as usual and wore their dog diapers due to coming into heat and I did not want them to spot the bedding etc. As I was trying to fall to sleep, I noticed a horrible chemical smell permeated the room. I should have asked for another room but after my phone call with him I realize it would have been futile. My girls did bump their water bowl and spill it but I mopped the water up with a clean potty pad. This guy is unreasonable, and has taken advantage of his clients with dogs. The reviews left on his site were all great except by people traveling with pets.

I get that it's a smaller family-run establishment, but black smudges on most of the towels are a little unsettling. The big red flag for me, however, was that the door had no working deadbolt, nor was there a chain/bar to prevent the door from being forced open. Maybe I'm just paranoid from having stayed in places where crime is a concern, but I consider a working deadbolt and/or a chain to be "standard equipment" at a hotel room and I have never stayed somewhere that didn't have one of those. Other than that, the room was fine. A/C was cold, water hot, internet fast. Really didn't like how far from the bed the nearest power outlet was, especially with cell phones being standard equipment nowadays. I probably wouldn't stay here again, but for my purposes (a traveler passing through who originally planned to camp, but sites were expensive), it was fine. I've stayed at far worse budget hotels on the High Plains and around the country, but I've also stayed at better.
