I learned a very hard lesson working with this company. Never work with a contractor who is…read moreunwilling to pull permits. I hired R Contracting services based on the recommendation of a neighbor whom they did renovations for in the past. My project was to build a roof over my patio. When signing the contract, Renee was unwilling to pull a permit for the contract for the project, even though the roof was an addition to the house. I secured a permit under my name and thank God I did. The framing failed inspection due to no rafter straps, posts not being properly bolted and a post being cut differently than the other two without being properly secured. After they corrected those issues, they attempted to use water-damaged molded wood for the ceiling of the roof. When I told them it was unacceptable, their initial response was that they would "clean it" and put mold-resistant primer on the wood. I held firm because my son has Asthma. They eventually replaced the wood on the ceiling. The final straw was when they were finishing up and I had to notify them that a moved downspout was pointed towards a window. A two-week quoted project, ended up taking four. They were more concerned about getting paid than doing quality work or doing the project right the first time. -I would not recommend them to anyone.

They suggested design changes that improved the stability and the appearance and I'm glad I agreed to their suggestions. this was a nice group of men. Arrived every morning on time unless they were picking up materials for the job. The deck would have been finished on time except a few materials were late being delivered by the distributors. I would hire them again and I highly recommend them.

We reached out…read moreto Teresa starting the beginning of February to finish some last parts of repairing/painting our front porch. She blamed some delay on weather, illness, and scheduling, but since March she has ignored our text and e-mail entirely. It's safe to say now that she has NO INTENTION TO FINISH THE JOB, despite us paying in full (our mistake). Not only has she been unprofessional but I have photographic evidence of some of the issues. The details: We hired Teresa Snyder late December to fix some areas of our porch and stairs that had wood rot. The bulk of the work finally was completed after about 3 weeks due to her van breaking down as well as labor problems. We encountered the following problems in hiring Teresa: - UNRELIABLE WORK CREW: During this time she went through 4 different work crews (5 different people altogether). One never showed up the next day, two were fired, the fourth walked off the job, and the last was hired last minute off of Craigslist for the day (he was the only one who stuck around). - CARELESS EXECUTION: One side of the porch was initially installed visibly crooked; it was only after we brought this to her attention that she fixed it. - Steps were installed at about a steep angle downwards (about 4 degrees with our calculations). Again, it was only after we checked it ourselves that night that we noticed and we had to bring this up to her attention. - She installed a board on the lowest step leaving an almost 2 inch gap between the riser and the ground that has remained unfixed (see picture). She was supposed to return to add another board to fill the gap but never did. - TIME DELAYS DUE TO FIXING HER OWN SHODDY WORKMANSHIP: Both problems above were major fixes and delayed the "completion" of the work. The stairs took her nearly an extra day to re-do. - FAILURE TO PERFORM NECESSARY COMPONENTS AND USE PROPER MATERIAL: Teresa failed to sufficiently caulk any of the seams of wood that she replaced. She seems to claim that weather had a lot to do with it, but she didn't advise us that doing the repair in December would lead to the caulk pulling away and therefore this would become an issue. SEE PICTURES. She also did not use galvanized nails and therefore they've already started rusting. - FAILURE TO COMPLETE THE ENTIRE JOB: Back in December after we paid in full, we agreed that once the weather warms up, she would return and paint over the areas she "fixed", as well as fix the bottom rise. As mentioned above, she has ignored our requests to return. Again, if you are considering hiring her, see the photos here that document the work that she did, both in-progress and after that may make you think again. Please go with someone more reliable, knowledgeable, dependable, and capable. Teresa Snyder, and by extension, The Fix It Service is none of these things and we hope you don't make the same mistake as we did.

While the company may have access to subcontractors capable of good work, my personal experience was that the overall communication, reliability, and quality control were severely lacking. Throughout my project, communication was inconsistent at best and completely absent at worst. There were frequent excuses, last-minute cancellations, and ongoing delays, which caused a project that was originally estimated at four months to drag on far beyond the timeline. Repeated attempts to get clear updates were met with attitude, evasiveness, or no response at all. In my case, Adam personally installed cabinetry in a basement kitchenette. The installation was done so poorly that cabinets had to be redone, and several pieces were left rubbing against drawer faces. When concerns were addressed, I was met with unprofessional behavior and frustration rather than accountability or solutions. The constant nickel-and-diming, lack of transparency, shifting stories, and unwillingness to take responsibility ultimately forced me to end the relationship and hire someone else to finish the job properly. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Adam Williams or Atlanta Remodeling Specialist. I strongly encourage anyone considering this company to look elsewhere for a contractor who communicates clearly, honors timelines, stands behind their work, and behaves professionally.

I purchased my 1950s built semi-flipped bungalow in early 2020. Decided on the home because of its…read morebackyard, location, and potential for improvement. After 4 years of living here I made the decision that I needed to open up the front entry room to the living room and the living room open up to the kitchen to create a much more seamless open living space. Old houses can be tricky so I knew it would not be easy. I interviewed many contractors and ultimately landed with Adam and his team at Atlanta Remodeling Specialists. To make this open concept work we needed to remove walls, put in two load bearing beams, rearrange and add to the kitchen, build up a subfloor, and then match flooring trim and cabinet colors. I'd like to think that I am pretty handy but I know my limits. So that's where these pros came in. I had a pretty clear image in my mind of what I was looking for and Adam and his team delivered! Every day they worked they kept the house as clean as they could so I could continue to live there during the process. Communication was top notch and easy to get questions answered especially because I often was at work while they worked on the house. During the project I also needed to have part of the roof repaired from a leak and Adam was able to set that up and a team was up there fixing it within 24 hours. I am incredibly thankful for the hard work this team has put into making this house more functional and the value they have added. My family including my dog who you'll see in the pictures are all excited for our future here. Highly recommend this company for your home renovations needs!
