We started working with Jessica on our remodel in September 2020, just after purchasing our first home. Jessica was easy to talk to, listened to our needs, and helped us understand the process from the first meeting. My biggest challenge throughout the planning has been my own lack of experience. We have very much enjoyed working with Jessica on our home remodel design. We hired Jessica to design an interior remodel of our home to make the most of our existing space. Jessica presented a few different options and the one we ended up going with was a design that we hadn't been able to visualize on our own. She took the time to listen to what our current issues are and also asked questions to help us think further into the future. Her design really makes great use of a lot of space that wasn't being adequately used so that we could add a bathroom, open-concept kitchen & a pantry. We are working with Jessica for the design of our kitchen and living remodel, and she is fantastic. In contrast to an interior designer we had previously worked with, Jessica brings both design aesthetic and an architectural knowledge to the project. This was really important to us as we have an Eichler style house with an addition from the prior owners, so there are many odd angles and transitions that we wanted to address. Jessica has been fantastic in integrating the kitchen design into the existing architecture, and improving some of the choices of the prior owners. Jessica is so easy to work with - she is incredibly patient, and has the right balance of listening to us and providing her own opinions - I trust she won't let us make a bad decision. My husband and I often jokingly refer to her as our "mediator", as he and I will sometimes want different things and not be able to agree, and Jessica will understand the underlying goals we both have and come up with a solution that we both love. Jessica has guided us through the whole process - initial brainstorming and preliminary sketches, full architecture design and gorgeous renderings, getting the permits, connecting us with contractors, and joining us for various shopping trips (countertops, plumbing, etc). She has your own best interest at heart - for example, when we were considering moving our laundry which would have required a number of plumbing changes for minimal gain in improved usability, after going through a bunch of iterations Jessica told us "for the price you are looking at here, you could just pay for laundry service for the rest of your life". We had a good laugh, but it was helpful for us in thinking about the cost vs value of that change, which we decide against. She is organized, smart, fast, and reliable, and I always feel like we are in good hands. Cannot recommend Jessica highly enough! read more

We had reached out to a few architects for a kitchen remodel and decided on JSD. Overall Jessica was great to work with. She listened to what we were looking for, took into consideration our budget and our personal style and delivered options that were exactly what we wanted. In addition she has been great at managing and stepping in on issues that have popped up and has been good with following up with the city on permit approvals. The only thing that I would have liked is a bit more communication even if it's telling us that there was no new news as there were a couple of weeks that everything went silent. But again we are clients that want lots of communication. Jessica started helping us mid-project. We had architectural designs by another architect and wanted help by an architect and designer for the rest of the project and Jessica was a great fit for this. Jessica is very detail oriented, organized, friendly and easy to work with. She helped keep our disorganized contractor on track and helped us make many stylistic choices for our new kitchen and bathrooms. We were limited by cost because of having 2 different architects which required changes to the plans and repeat review by the county so the only downside was the overall cost of architects for our extensive remodel.
