We're in…read morethe process of demolishing and repurposing the property and won't require trash service for at least another year, however, when I called to cancel I was told the service agreement (fine print) auto-renews annually and provides a narrow window each year to cancel or the customer is locked in for the remainder of the 12-month term. I can understand requiring a minimum of 1-year agreement on the front end after seven years this is a bad/deceptive business practice. Furthermore, WM will penalize users with an overage fee if the lid isn't 100% flush---even if only slightly raised due to an errant box or item. Not overflowing, just slightly raised. Each time we requested photos and the lid was fully closed but just slightly raised on one corner. To make matters worse, when you call customer service for the local area, the call gets transferred at least three times, sometimes more, before you reach your account representative. Each time the answering rep asks for the complete account identification as if they can help, then puts you on hold, where you wait until the next person answers. And more than once, they disconnected the call after the third or fourth transfer. Frustrating and time-consuming. We will NEVER use WM again. We cancelled the service for our primary home as well. Our calls were always transferred over, and then usually put on a hold for up to 15-30 minutes. The last customer service call for us we made was around 1620. The customer service representative had us on hold for 28.7 minutes, she inferred we hadn't set anything out, which was a blatant lie! WHY would we WASTE our time on the phone, trying to settle this ineptitude, this stupidity? She then said she was going to dispatch the recycling guys back out there to pick it up the recycling, and give us a credit, then after this wait, we were "disconnected" the call... of course- timed perfectly... because " they close" at 1700. We immediately called back, and got a recording. This is such a disrespect and disregard for the customer! My husband called to complain the following morning. The customer Service Representative was working remote. You could hear her children, and hear that she was distracted by other things going on in her house. We immediately asked her to pick up the cans, (which they still haven't done to date) -at that time, and cancel our service. At least here, we have other choices. Waste Management is joke, and a WASTE of time!
