I also paid the full patient portion quoted to me upfront, based on the treatment plan they provided. Months later, I received an unexpected bill claiming insurance didn't cover as much as the office expected. Despite doing my due diligence, paying what was required, I was repeatedly threatened with collections. I even went through the trouble of filing a formal appeal with Aetna, which was denied simply because of timing. This process has been stressful, time-consuming, and felt very misleading from start to finish. I've since resolved the balance just to avoid collections, but I will never return to this office and wouldn't recommend it to anyone who wants honest billing practices or respect as a patient.

At the end of my rope I found Plantation Dental and honestly, cannot rave enough about this place. Super clean. I repeat. Super clean. I kept looking for signs that I needed to leave immediately and couldn't. Christine, the hygienist was the best I've ever had. My appointment took forever, not because they ran late but because they take their time with you. She takes digital photos of your teeth, showing you problem areas. They really care about you and your mouth. Even when the dentist comes in, it's not a quick visit. You're with him for another 10-15 minutes going over anything they find troubling. The coolest thing though? They have tv's on the ceiling. What a better place to have a tv, right? While they are digging in your mouth you can watch Judge Judy. And for that I love this place even more. They have a referral program that gives you $25 for every person you refer. I will never see another dentist as long as I live in this area.

She makes sure you are well-informed about your treatment. She is sensible with her recommendations. The office is immaculate. The waiting room has a TV and magazines. They just added TV's in their ceiling so when you are laying down on the chair you are entertained. My cleaning went by so fast! The day before my appointment I got a courtesy call , reminding me of the appointment then I was told that I had a balance . I asked how was that and I was told because the insurance didn't pay for a previous cleaning so I said i thought we cleared that billing months ago . I was told by the receptionist that it's my job to file that claim and by her doing that it would be a courtesy. I was a bit confused , anyways she told me when I come in they would handle it . I told her no I think we should take care of it before the appointment because I don't want to be held up by that. She insisted that she'd have all the information pertaining to the billing when I got there. Fast forward got to my appointment I was told I had to pay the balance owed before being seen . She went on to say of all the visits I have never paid anything, keep in mind other patients were there overhearing the conversation I was so embarrassed. I was in disbelief, I said what do you mean I have never paid , I even told her as a matter of fact I was over charged and I told her to credit me on my next appointment. She looked at me as if I was crazy and told me we didn't have that conversation, it was when I pulled up my bank account and showed her the payments then she looked up in the computer and realized that my payment was credited to someone else's account it was then I got an apology. At that moment I was so ashamed of how I was dealt with . And as for that balance it was her and when I said her I mean the black lady the one that is responsible for billing didn't do her job and cause it to show that I owed . Even though it wasn't my fault I was told to still make that payment then I'd get reimbursed I told her no I'm not paying for your Incompetence then I was told I'm sorry we won't be able to see you today . Anyways went to another dentist happy with my work . I think it's my civic duty to warn public know that as long as that black lady works there please expect this treatment

I was evaluated by Dr. Suarez, who was kind and professional during my exam. Extensive imaging was performed, including x-rays, a CT scan, and a scan of my teeth. After reviewing the images, Dr. Suarez said there was bone loss and recommended a deep cleaning under the gums with local anesthetic and localized antibiotics. She also recommended removing my wisdom teeth. I explained that I am under ongoing care of a periodontist every three months and that these recommendations had never been made during my ongoing periodontal maintenance. Still, I agreed to schedule the deep cleaning, and also requested cosmetic bonding on two front teeth, which I was told could be done the same day. After spending nearly three hours there, I was told there was no time for any cleaning that day, despite specifically scheduling the appointment for a cleaning. Only imaging was performed. I was asked to leave a review before receiving any treatment, which I found premature. When I returned for the deep cleaning and bonding, I woke with a severe migraine. I asked if I could simply modify the plan for that day and proceed with a routine cleaning instead. I told the staff I'd return another day for the deep cleaning. I spent about ten minutes explaining this to Maria at the front desk. She advised there could be a cancellation fee because I had confirmed. I informed her this was my first visit and I just didn't want to undergo anesthetic injections and invasive cleanings due to my migraine. Anne Marie overheard the exchange and suggested, why don't we have the doctor speak with her? I was never afforded the opportunity to speak directly with the dentist. Instead, I was taken to the back and explained the situation again to the hygienist, including a direct request to speak with Dr. Suarez. The hygienist went to speak with the doctor and returned with message that the treatment plan would not be changed and they refused to perform a standard cleaning, only deep cleaning would be performed. I was never seen by the dentist at that visit, and honestly not sure if she was even in the office that day. I was also told bonding required local anesthetic, which was different from my prior experiences. Once I asked to adjust the treatment for that day, the overall tone of the office felt noticeably less accommodating. I was dismissed by the hygienist, who walked me back over to Maria, telling me the doctor wouldn't recommend a cleaning today with a migraine, and "cancellation fees" would be waived. I spent another 10 minutes trying to reschedule with Maria, told her the days I would be available, and still nothing could be booked for over a month away. She then went over to Bernice, had a conversation regarding the situation, and I was then passed on to deal with Bernice. Bernice found an appointment for one of the days I listed to Maria. When I asked why that hadn't been offered earlier, Bernice rudely replied, "she's new, you need to forgive her." I found that unprofessional. After leaving, I contacted my periodontists office, explained the situation, and immediately drove to my periodontists office. My periodontist's office requested my records. I overheard the conversation between my periodontists staff and Bernice. Bernice was curt with the staff as they were attempting to obtain my records. Bernice then called my personal cell phone to say, "We just received a call, you're at another dental office, would you like to brief me on what's going on?" I considered that call completely inappropriate. I had no balance and these are my medical records. My periodontist saw me that same afternoon. After evaluation, he did not find the invasive deep cleaning or localized antibiotics necessary, nor the extraction of my wisdom teeth. I understand that clinical opinions can differ, however, what I cannot overlook is how I was treated: no access to the dentist despite repeated requests, dismissive comments, and an inappropriate phone call. Throughout my interactions with Bernice, I found her manner curt and unprofessional. I left feeling unheard and disrespected. This office's only concern is to collect and bill for as much as possible. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this practice.
