The worst Mexican restaurant I've ever been in. First, they seated our party at a table underneath an air conditioning vent that constantly dripped water on me. Because of the cramped position of the table in relation to other tables and our table being at full capacity, I couldn't move anywhere to get out of the way of the dripping water. Second, the food had zero flavor. Tasted like they used no seasoning at all. My wife had the chicken fajitas, and she couldn't touch the chicken because of the "weird flavor" that it had. I sampled it, and it tasted like chicken that had been sitting in the refrigerator for a while and had gone past its expiration date but cooked it anyway. Normally at an average Mexican restaurant, you can always fall back on the chips and salsa. Not here. No flavor, no spice, no kick to their salsa at all. More than one person at our table commented how it basically tasted like ketchup. Definitely will be giving this one a pass the next time we go to the lake. read more

I was extremely disappointed by the service we received. Upon arrival at the restaurant, we put our name on the waitlist and were given an estimated wait time of 30 minutes. After waiting 50 minutes, we inquired about our place on the waitlist as we saw multiple parties being seated ahead of us that had arrived after us. The staff was unapologetic for the extended wait and did not have acceptable reasoning for us "getting skipped." When we attempted to wait inside for a table we were told we'd need to wait outside as we were "in the way." Do better! read more

Totally gross we had carne asada which was supposed to be a ribeye steak but it was full of gristle. Came with guacamole but it was one spoon of it. The plate was covered with beans who knows how old they were. Finally got more pico & guacamole under asking for it. Guacamole was just some frozen brand. Poor excuse for Mexican!!! read more

Worst service ever!!! However, when they get the order right, their food is good. Their staff does not know how to handle any kind of wait line or how to treat a customer. There are limited options to eat in the area and the staff obviously realizes that. Most of them make no effort to great arriving consumers and if they do it is with no friendliness. Last night's experience included a large party arriving after us being sat before us. When I asked about it, the rude waitress blamed it on me rather than accepting her fellow waitress did not start a waitlist upon my checking in. When we were finally sat, I had to refill the waters for our table of 8. Our waitress didn't once attempt to do so. After about an hour's wait, 4 of the 8 orders came out wrong or were missing items. It wasn't until two of the orders came out wrong a second time (after the rest of the party was done eating) that the waitress offered to comp the quesadillas that could not be eaten due to a food allergy. I will not return nor will I ever recommend this restaurant. I will drive the extra 20 minutes to the next closest Mexican food restaurant. read more

I do not usually write bad review, I know everyone makes mistakes. However, my visit here last week was HORRIFIC. Right when we (group of 6) arrived, the restaurant was full. No one was practicing social distancing and not one waitress, cook, hostess had a mask on. However, we decided to stay and we realized we needed to be extra careful about what we touch. Our drinks got to us and the waitress took our food order. AN HOUR AND A HALF GOES BY and we still don't have our food. People who were sitting around us that got seated after us have already gotten their food and paid. We told the waitress we were going to leave and pay for our drinks after we found out they didn't put our order in. This is where is gets bad. As we were leaving to pay for our drinks, the owner stopped us and demanded that we pay for ALL OF THE FOOD WE NEVER GOT. We attempted to share the nonexistence service we got during our visit, and that just encouraged her not only ignore our unpleasant experience, but to make our drinks MORE EXPENSIVE. We watched the owner cross out $5 and put $6. We ended up paying HALF of the food AND the increased WATERED DOWN margaritas. I have NEVER been treated like that at ANY establishment. It was incredibly unprofessional, rude, and I will never be back. I will never suggest this place to someone. DO NOT GO HERE YOU WILL BE EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. Very disappointed. There used to be one in Grove years ago. This came no where near the good memories of that one. The staff was not friendly or welcoming when people arrived. Only two of us and the waitress got the order wrong twice. The food was bland. The fajitas are just reheated chicken. My stomach felt very queazy afterwards for a few hours. If you have any other option, go there not here. Only plus is being able to come by water. read more

We have eaten here twice and the food has been very good and the service fast and pleasant. It wasn't busy either time we visited during the off season but in sure it will be packed on weekends during the summer. Margaritas were big and very good. We eat here almost every weekend and have always been very pleased with the food. Service can be a little slow on busy nights but servers are friendly and do their best. White queso is a must and we like the margaritas. This is not a fancy place and you may question your choice if you come by car. The bar is building on the right and restaurant is on the left. The prices seemed decent in this hideaway location. The place itself was perfect for right off the lake. We had the chimichanga, and cheese enchiladas with rice and beans with tacos. We thought overall food was average to taste. We waited longer than we should as we watched people who came after served before us. When the waitress finally came by asked if we needed anything we said our dinner and shortly after she checked on it, food came out. The rice was luke warm and the enchiladas tasted like something from a microwave TV dinner. The tacos were decent. As I was enjoying the strawberry margarita (good by the way) I watched the cook from the pass and he had used the bottom of his shirt to wipe off his sweat and then placed food up to the pass. No gloves no washing before handling food. The waitress had the attitude of someone not really caring about much, she kept forgetting the chips we asked for till I brought it to her attention. She was quick to hand us the check though. We saw many of the locals there (heard waitress calling them by name) and she was nice to them and the locals seemed to enjoy the food. Maybe we just came on an off night but for our first time impressions we probably wont be back. read more

Where do I begin....we've been here at least a 6-8 times over the last 2 summers (if not more) and it's been the same bad experience every time. Why do we keep coming back? Because it's the only Mexican restaurant on the lake, so sometimes it's worth it to put up with the bad service and mediocre food. Which, I'm sure is the same reason most people keep going back. First off, the service is typically bad. The waitresses almost always act like they are having the worst day of their lives. Smiles are rare. They treat you as if it is an inconvenience to have to wait on you. We've heard heated arguments between the cooks and the waitress. We had one waitress argue with us when she brought us TWO dishes that we didn't order. I can understand if we incorrectly ordered one item, but 2 out of 3 entrees? And then there's the food...mediocre at best. Again, with no other Mexican choices on the lake, we accept responsibility for going back time after time, knowing the food will rarely be "good". I will say, the chips are always fresh, as well as good salsa and guacamole. But beware, the large guacamole is $12.00. Yes, $12.00. Completely overpriced. To the point that the one good waitress we had told us ahead of time when we wanted to order it, because she said she likes to make people aware of the price before ordering it (I think that speaks volumes). And then there's the dock (Red Arrow Marina). I realize the restaurant may not be owned by the same people as the marina, but when you pull up to park at the dock, there are geese droppings everywhere, in addition to split/rotten boards that are a safety hazard. And the "arrow" in the Red Arrow sign has been broken for awhile. Definitely not a very clean, welcoming area to the restaurant. We will continue to hope for the best and to see signs of happy waitresses who realize that happy customers = $$$. read more

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE! We were told the wait was about 10-15 mins, so we decided to wait wth our 2 & 3 yr old hungry kids! We waited for 50 minutes & were told just a few more minutes or your next, several times, then a large group that had come in 15 minutes after us was seated!! I go inside again and the lady wanted to argue with me that the group was before us, after I watched them pull in & park! We left and came all the way over by the damn to eat dinner!!
