A barebones, casual spot that feels like sitting down for a meal in a backyard, from the plastic thermos filled with salsa roja to the disposable cutlery that did a decent job of helping us make our way through a delicious mound of freshly-made pupusas. In addition to a couple of bean pupusas and loroco & cheese pupusas, we also got a side salad that came with creamy Italian dressing, a breakfast with scrambled eggs and refried beans, and an order of maduros. The pupusas were the star of the show--a crisp exterior and a great ratio of filling to masa. My only note is that I would've dialed back the salt and dialed up the acid on the curtido. Great neighborhood restaurant. My fiancé and I have been coming here to eat for a very long time. The staff is friendly and the food is authentic and delicious. We usually get pupusas with meat and cheese. The cabbage slaw that comes with it is crunchy and vinegary. It's the perfect combo. We also get the chicken soup. It's made to order. I don't remember the name but there is this corn tamale thing with creama that is so good. It's the perfect combo of sweet and savory. You can dine in or carry out. They even make fresh juices. I came by yesterday to order some pupusas since its the closet pupuseria to me. I must say.. they're just okay. They are not horrible but not the best. I have definitely had better and definitely had worst. I guess to just satisfy the crave they will do. I only ordered the mixed one and a tamal de elote which also was just okay. I'd like to come back and try other dishes on the menu and see what else they have to offer. Staff was friendly, spoke to them for a bit while I waited. I have ate here numerous times. I would love to give this place 4 stars but I can't quite do that. Allow me to get into why. First, let's start with the best from this place. This is a Salvadorian restaurant. It absolutely keeps true to itself. Given that I have many Salvadorian friends, I have come to expect certain foods that I frequently have in their homes, or that I frequently see prepared in their homes. One of those dishes is the breakfast of eggs with veggies, plantains, beans, cream, and cheese. This place tastes very home made, which is excellent. They make the breakfast just like my friend's mother makes it. Delicious! The 3 star rating comes from the fact that they are inconsistent with what the main Salvadorian dish is, the pupusas. Don't get me wrong, when they are good, they are GREAT! Unfortunately, when they are bad, they are quite plain and have a weird taste. I want to say they are good about 75% of the time. If the consistency was better I would give this place 4 stars. The price is right. You don't have to break the bank eating here. They have imported drinks from El Salvador, that is always good for foreign restaurants. Their horchata is tasty. read more

It was okay, i went here with a friend who used to go with his ex and told me the place had good honduran/mexican spanish food, so i said i guess i'll try it, i love GOOD food #fatboyproblems. The menu had pictures of the meal so i ordered the shrimp and sauce on top yellow rice and side of tostones (fried plantains) but when i receieved my meal, after waiting about 35-40 min. I got over cooked shrimp with like so much onions i could cry, tasted kinda ehh..real bland, with a side of white rice and tostones....and i was sitting there saying in my head this looks nothing like what i ordered. But being raised with the mentality of eat all your food someone is out there who does not have anything scarffed most of what i could....my friend had a salad, skirt steak and rice, maybe i should have went with that? Lol...overall....lack of staff, same person who took the order, cooked the orders. Great place. Food is good and affordable. Only bad is Service is slow. Tasty pupusas. There tamales are very good. All the food I've tasted there is good. Horchata is delicious. I go there all the time and travel a half hour to 45 minutes to eat there. Hard to get a good ethnic place. read more

The food is inexpensive and decent. However there is a long wait. Took around 30 minutes to make a chicken sandwich.

I had 2 pupusas de queso, they were slamming, along with a tamal de pollo. I dogged it, my lady was who put me on to this spot pretty good.
