Tried buffet wasn't good and chips were stale gave them a second chance but won't try them again.

Disappointed this last time we ordered. We called in the order and took about 20 minutes, we ordered two burritos dinners that actually were not burritos. It was just meat inside a taco shell nothing else, the rice was crusty. We called to ask to speak to a manager, but the person on the phone only took our information and said that the manager will call back. two hours later we called back and spoke with a manager to let them know how our order was and the manager was very rude. We eat here so often that we have our own table! The food is amazing! I am vegetarian so any meal can be turned meat free for me. My kids love this place as well as my husband! Fast ,friendly and enthusiastic service. Unfortunately salsa was not enthusiastic it was lame.Pretty sure it was just canned tomatoes with a few pieces of onion and cilantro tossed in. Just your average gringo salsa. Had "Chicken on the beach" for the main course. Grilled chicken over rice with a cheese sauce. Unfortunately it was seasoning free as well. Chicken was cooked properly just very little flavor overall. Not horrible but not good enough to want to come back and try anything else. 2.5 for food and a.5 for the enthusiastic waiter. read more

This place just opened so we thought we would try it. We were seated immediately. The service was fast and friendly. We had the guacamole, chicken chimichanga and shrimp tacos. It was all very good, but no sauce on the shrimp tacos. We also were served a cup of soup. Apparently it comes with every meal. For dessert we had the cheesecake chimichanga. Yum! The only con - if you get cold easily don't sit under a vent. The fan on the furnace must be set to on instead of auto so it blew all the time, and it was fairly strong. If the furnace wasn't running it blew cold air, and coming from someone who doesn't get cold, it got rather chilly on my neck and kept blowing my napkin away. read more

I will NEVER eat here again...we pulled up to the drive thru ladies were very nice but forgot our drinks, my food was not the way I read it before ordering my chorizo was burnt, no cheese on my chicken and my boyfriend ordered a classic steak fajita and received hardly any meat and and his was burnt as well. read more

barbacoa was phenomenal. tried the fresh guac as an appetizer and highly recommend it. got a weird look for asking what one of the sauces on my plate was but other than that the experience was perfect so i'm not counting that against them in any way. this is the best mexican i've had in the area by far. will be back. read more

My husband and I are from out of town. We love love love Mexican food, so we went on Yelp to find a good Mexican restaurant in Mattoon, IL. Juanito's had the highest reviews, so we went for a late lunch on a Saturday. There were 3 other customers in the entire restaurant. We were seated immediately and given menus. We were very hopeful at this point. The server took our drink order (2 waters with lemon) right away and brought back chips and salsa. After more than 5 minutes, the server came back to take our order, but without the waters. I ordered the veggie quesadilla without broccoli and zucchini. My husband ordered the fajita burrito with chicken and it came with grilled veggies. Our waters finally arrived! My quesadilla was full of broccoli, very runny tomatoes, one slice of onion, and one 1/2 of the quesadilla had a few green pepper slices. The cheese was almost non-existent!!! The black beans tasted like they were out of a can, with no spices at all. My husband's chicken burrito had a few tiny pieces of chicken, but mostly veggies. When the bill came, the itemized receipt and the amount charged on my credit card differed. We really love Mexican food, but wouldn't recommend Juanito's. In fact I'd give it 0 stars, but Yelp won't allow me to post the review without at least one star. read more

Love it! Real Mexican food, not the "authentic" garbage one usually sees in this area. I especially like their made in house corn tortillas.

Had a group of six. They were quick as possible to seat us on a busy Friday night right after Christmas. Food was superb, everyone at table got something different and all of us was happy with our choices. Chips and quest was great and refills kept coining. read more
