Our campsite was very clean, large, and quite private thanks to the trees and the sites across being offset. It was also a 2 minute walk to a beautiful rocky beach that provided beautiful views and a relaxing environment. The comfort station was a quick walk up a short pathway and was very well maintained and clean. On Saturday we walked the marsh boardwalk which provided beautiful views and informative signage. Easy 1.5km walk and well worth it. Spent one of the days on beautiful Beach #2 which was not crowded at all. The beach has soft, fine white sand and was very clean. The water was clear and perfect temperature. We also loved how far out we could go because the shallow shoreline goes very deep. We decided to follow the trail that goes along the water from our campground to the lighthouse. It took about 40 minutes each way and provided many beautiful, peaceful views. Unfortunately the lighthouse was under construction, but the view of Prince Edward County from behind the lighthouse was well worth the walk. The water was very calm and clear on this beach side as well. We also stopped at the Nature Center en route which was really interesting. The staff were very informative and friendly as well. Overall, we enjoyed our long weekend at Presqu'ile Provincial Park and would be happy to return again in the near future.

There's both sandy beaches (in day-use camp) and rocky beaches in the campground. There's both sandy park is well-maintained with washrooms and showers across the campground that are getting cleaned twice daily. The phone and internet connection is very poor in most of the areas, but it'll give you a perfect chance to disconnect from the day-to-day routine and connect with nature and have some peaceful time.

It allows me to travel between Yonge and Leslie Streets using a smaller set of streets. I have passed by Fairy Lake Park countless times. Yesterday, I finally paid it a visit. This park is steps away from Newmarket's Main Street South. It's where all the cool, small shops and eateries are. I was at this park to partake in the Newmarket Craft Beer Festival. What stands out during this time of year is the park's fountain. It can be clearly seen from Water Street. It's enjoyable to look at, even on a gloomy day. At first, it looked like parking would be crazy. However, when I turned onto a side road that gets you to parking at this park, it was great. There are roughly three parking lots going down this road. All are free. I decided to park on the side road where there are designated spots. It was humid and rainy. That combination is horrible to visit a beer festival. However, I survived with an umbrella, some grub, and, of course, beer. There are portable washrooms at this park. It was a nice touch. I saw geese enjoying the rain and one another's company. There is plenty of geese poop around, so look down when you walk. I liked the various signs scattered in this park. I love self-discovery tours and I got a decent one yesterday. I learned that this park is also known as the Wesley Brooks Memorial Conservation Area. Its namesake was born in Mount Albert and moved to Newmarket after serving in World War II. He served as Clerk-Treasurer of Newmarket and continued serving the town for nearly two decades. Fairy Lake is a man-made lake. It's maintained by a dam on the East Holland River. The lake was originally a millpond, but it's now a recreational area. The dam has been at the lake since 1801. This park is open year-round. Parking and admission to this park are free. I can see some paths being off-limits during the wintertime, though. It was pretty muddy when I walked on the grassy parts. I appreciated the gazebos and covered pavilions yesterday. They kept everyone dry from the rain and much happier! There is a playground at this park. Naturally, no one was using it while it was raining. I hope to return and enjoy walking through this park when it's dry and sunny. There's an ice cream store on Main Street South that I'd love to drop by. I can see myself spending some time indulging in frozen desserts at this park. (210)

There are a couple of day-use lots on the outside of the actual park for locals to use, I don't believe you can drive into the park proper to use it for day use. At the time we visited, Orillia was close to peak color, so it was a fantastic time. It was a nice day for a hike, and there were quite a few other people using the park as well -- there's a little beach area in the day use part as well as a playground and places for taking your dog on leash. We went and followed the trails in the park, there seems to be a few that can be used, one in the treeline and one along the lake. You can make a decent little loop of a couple of kilometers. There's nothing incredibly challenging about this little hike, to be honest, but the tree colors make for some gorgeous photos. I'll definitely want to come back and visit here and go camping during the season. A really lovely provincial park!

Here was a nice lakeside. We came here for the fresh air. When we arrived, it was almost the noon…read moretime. We had our brunch first by the lakeshore. Food brought from home, and saw a lot of people were really relaxed there. Some people liked to exercise or biking there. There was a lighthouse there, but it was pretty windy. My kid's hat almost flew out. We walked along the beach to another side of the park, kid's playground. It's not really big, but there were 2 parts, one for adults and one for kids. We planned to let my kid play with sands before, but the sands were a bit rough, I was a bit worried it might have my kid's feet sole cut. And we also needed to go for a long walk by the lakeshore. It's a nice place for the weekend with families there. Let's go next time again.

Local people…read morehave taken over the beaches, placing heavily armed police to guard the parking areas and not allowing anyone they don't recognize. The "public" parking was half full, and they let in people they recognized but not strangers. The police were nasty, very aggressive, and threatened us. When I stopped a few times on the shoulders and entered one of their members-only parking lots to let my daughter use the washroom, they sent a police trooper in a vehicle to escort us from Simcoe County. This is the first time I was afraid for my life in Canada. Worse, this is funded by our tax money to defend public property from the public.

2024 review Today is a beautiful hot day for the beach and…read morewe arrived comfortably around 11am and parking was slowly filling up on the closer lots. $5/hour or $40 all day, there is parking police patrolling when we arrived. We chose to park on the west end by the boat marinas and it's a close walk to the white sand beach and lighthouse pier. Few more minutes to walk to the info hub, food truck and washrooms make it pretty easy anywhere on beach. The washrooms are also next to two simple playgrounds and splash pads. Nothing fancy but good place to rinse off the kids before getting back into the car. The sand is freshly groomed and very soft. Minor pebbles, debris that the kids could walk bare feet on. There was lots of space to play and set up camp, not as busy as expected especially arriving this late in the morning. In my honest opinion, while sitting on the towel ground, I could smell an odd aroma. It's probably an algae smell in the water and sands lingering around. I preferred sitting higher up from the wet sand and trenches the kids were digging up to get more airflow. No one else seemed to mind but when the gentle breeze wasn't blowing there was a weird smell. Feedback from my partner said the water is nice but as you go out further, there was some algae pockets in the lake sand making it kinda gross and slimy. Important to check by laws about what you can or cannot bring to the beach. There is frequent beach police patrolling the sands. Today's water quality levels online and on the beach showed it to be really low. Always check beach water quality before leaving as some have been in the red this summer. All in all, a decent place to go for a nice sandy beach. Kites, frisbee, water blow up toys, sand castles and kayaks in the water, this place is pretty chill to hang out at. The kids are having fun today and want to come back.

A nice walk on the pier out to the lighthouse though an awful lot of small flying insects. Of course, the lighthouse is accessible from here too. These two lighthouses protect Sodus Bay, the largest natural harbor on Lake Ontario. This light was first established in 1858, the new lighthouse was replaced in 1938 with this 51 foot tall structure. The view over Lake Ontario is fabulous, especially this early in the morning.
