We heard about Judah Avenue Photography from Little Black Book Events and enlisted them as our engagement photographer. Our plan was to use those photos as a trial before deciding on hiring the firm for our wedding in the Washington D.C., area. In short, Judah Avenue easily exceeded our expectations. If you want top-notch photos, book Judah Avenue asap. Their calendar fills up fast. A caveat, however. Since Nafa, our photographer, took so many great pictures, we didn't want to discard any of them. So, don't blame us when you have to spend a lot of time agonizing before choosing the best of the best. It's a nice 'problem' to have. In retrospect, we shouldn't have been surprised at the outstanding photos Nafa created. From the first email contact to the initial online meeting, Judah Avenue was professional and pleasant. Even though our video consultation was a business meeting, Nafa made it feel like we were meeting a friend, breaking the ice with her easy style, winning smile and sparkling personality. A few weeks later, when we entered the studio for our shoot, it was the same. Even though it was brutally cold outside, the studio was like a peaceful oasis, music playing softly, smiles and jokes flowing as easily as the bottles of water that were offered. All our questions and concerns were answered. It was difficult to feel nervous or self-conscious in that atmosphere. Indeed, our session was one of the most pleasant things we've done as we prepare for our wedding, which now is a couple of months away. And really, is there a better way to spend an hour than gazing into the eyes of your soon-to-be life partner, who's smiling at you, looking gorgeous and dressed to the nines? After the session, my fiancé and I smiled the entire drive home. OK, I know what some of you are thinking: 'We really dislike posing for pictures. We're ill at ease in front of a camera and have never been photogenic. There are few things we dislike more than having a photographer telling us to look right, left, up, down etc.' Don't worry, you're not alone. Yet even we immediately felt comfortable in Nafa's capable hands. Actually, she made us feel special. As a result, Nafa's photos look natural, enhance our physical characteristics and reflect that we were enjoying ourselves. Moreover, her professionalism was apparent immediately. You could tell she knew exactly how to pose us for maximum success, despite our initial reluctance to taking photos. And it wasn't 'Turn your head this way or that.' Her instructions were subtle, specific and personal. By now you realize that Nafa's disarming way with people mixed with an expert knowledge of photography are two of the keys to her success. After a lot of researching and deliberating, we decided to hire Judah Photography, one of the best wedding photographers in the DMV area (Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia), to capture our wedding day during the Memorial Day weekend 2019. My husband and I were so happy with the results from start to finish with working with Judah Avenue! When we first were looking for photographers for our August 2018 wedding, we didn't know where to begin. I eventually found Judah Avenue through one of my cousins who used them for a maternity shoot (which was amazing as well). We strongly recommend Judah avenue photography. They have been so amazing to work with, made me and my husband so comfortable during our maternity shoot. This is our first pregnancy and we had hoped to have the best photographs clicked, at first we were skeptical whom to choose as our maternity photographer. We went purely based on the reviews we saw online and luckily we were not wrong in our choice. Judah avenue team (Nafa, Taby, Mary, Suzan,Susan) all of them were remarkable and professional in their work! Nafa was our photographer, she made it so easy during our shoot, while Taby was very helpful in making us feel comfortable and assisting us throughout the shots. We met the team on the day of the shoot only, everything until that point was only over the phone!! Let me start off by saying I am in love with Judah Avenue Photography. I took a chance on this company out of Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia last year (from doing the same thing you may be doing....checking reviews :)) from what I thought was just going to be family photos during our White House tour to my very own surprise wedding proposal. My husband and I have worked with Nafa and team for our daughter's newborn photos as well as her cake smash. Nafa is truly one of a kind and is one of the best newborn photographers I've seen in the Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia area. She's great with kids and has a unique gift of capturing those special moments even when your child isn't cooperating. She's very patient and super friendly. Nafa is an amazing photographer in maryland area. She may be one of the best photographers around DC, Virginia, and Maryland. We (me and my wife) were looking for a good photographer for our anniversary photo shoot at the last moment. And Nafa accommodated us without any hesitation (3 days before the photo shoot). She treated us very professionally. She was very accessible through phone, emails, and texts. She talked to us over the phone and walked us through the whole process including a perfect outdoor photo shoot venue. On the day of photo shoot she arrived early and waited for us at the venue for about 30 mins. On the top of everything she also secured a good parking spot for us in the busy city of Georgetown. We can't say enough about Judah Avenue! The entire staff is absolutely awesome! We took our son to the studio for his newborn photography session when he was two weeks old. As soon as we walked in we immediately knew we had made the right choice. The studio was clean, inviting, warm, open, and the perfect canvas to create the "Perfect" picture.
