On two different occasions she was 20 and 40 minutes late for my son's appointment. She allowed a medical student to participate in his session without my permission (he is a minor). I asked her to suggest a coping mechanism for dealing with his frustration and she said she only deals with medication. She then claimed, "I don't want to step on his counselor's toes," but the counselor told me they would work together! She is very slow about returning calls. At my son's previous session she said she would probably increase the dose of his medication at the next appointment, then today backtracked and said she didn't want to. One minute she said it was very low dose and then she said she's concerned about overdosing him. What a complete waste of money. Her initial intake appointment is over $600 and her follow ups are $230 for 30 minutes. We will find another psychiatrist that actually cares about my son and is affordable or accepts insurance.

Gail perpetually interrupted my partner and myself, attempting to complete our sentences, talking over us, and generally talking more about herself than we had the opportunity to talk about our relationship. At every opportunity, mid sentence Gail would comment how she too has experienced X,Y, and Z. Gail made insulting assumptions about my character, my education based on information I shared with her. She will talk over you, she will not let you complete your thoughts or sentences. It makes it very difficult to address couples issues when the therapist won't let you complete a thought and insert their own narrative, instead of listening to the story of your relationship to move forward in a better direction. Update 2/23/2025: I have not seen Gail or been in contact with her since our initial appointment on January 25th. However she called me on February 20th emphasizing that she was "disgusted in me as a human being." Then proceeded to explain how her years of experience and credentials certainly make her a great therapist. She went on to state how upset she was that I gave her a one star review. She concluded the message by stating "You are in trouble by the way!" I recently had a health emergency for which a trip to the emergency room resulted in nothing. No care, no prescription, no relief, no diagnosis and inadequate testing. I went to see Dr. Bakus as a walk in the next day and was diagnosed and treated within hours despite it being a holiday weekend. She has stayed on top of the situation. I appreciate the whole spectrum of medicine practiced from modern, to Eastern and in between. Dr. Bakus is thorough, caring and empathetic. Her staff is equally wonderful. They greet you with caring and always remember your situation. The facilities are always immaculate. If I could give a 10 star rating I would.

Any referral I've asked for, she has told me I need to figure that out with my insurance, myself. She breaks everything possible into multiple visits so that billing happens as much as possible. For my last appointment, I had a urinalysis that she admitted she never reviewed, even though it was a severe issue that needed immediate care. I had to make a new appointment a week later to review those results because I still wasn't feeling well. When I told her it was unacceptable that she never reviewed my results, she said "it's Monday" and "you're not my only patient", I said it's been a week and that's a terrible way to treat a patient. She back tracked immediately and said she did review my results and never followed up because she didn't need to. She then began being very condescending to me and even told me she doesn't need to mother me or check back in (and denied telling me to call her if I needed a medication change, as my infection was a tricky one to treat). I again, told her this is very condescending as I was just following exactly what she told me to do. She actually hung up on me during this telehealth video call. She is truly the only PCP that was available when I moved here and it is clear why. The office itself is so gross and creepy. She's cared a lot more about my outfits I wore to my appointments, than my family's colorful cancer history! This was my final straw after her lack of care for 2 years, so this is probably a blessing in disguise for me!

I will not be taken advantage of and will always stand up for myself and the red flags this place was waving did not fly with me. 1) They want you to sign a document stating that they can charge you a day before a visit (they say it is for telehealth only but the "legal document" does not specify telehealth). 2) Go to pay your copay $1, but surprise there is a $10 minimum charge and I never carry cash. Not anywhere in their signage or documents does it go over a minimum. The old Indian man at the front office tried to tell me I can't go anywhere like a store or restaurant and pay less than $10....WRONG!! I already tried to leave the office because they couldn't conduct business properly and as I'm walking out they called me back to the desk and try to explain more, as I'm saying that they can not charge me more than the $1 copay the office man said that I would not be a good fit for the office...DUH!!! I was already on my way out the door. 3) The office is disgusting, I have to unfortunately go where my insurance is covered and I made a poor choice going here. I can't believe this place is still in business. It's so unfortunate for those who don't have access to better care than this. I thought I liked the Dr. and Nurse Ann, but the front desk staff and their policy is atrocious.
