We had to cut out several parts of the ceiling/wall and peel paint off of a lot of the wall because it was bubbling. I contacted Ace Custom Drywall and got a response immediately from Bridget, who looked at the pictures, gave me a price and was able to get us on the schedule for the following day. What blew me away from the start was the communication. She told me that they should arrive around 10am and would be in touch with an ETA in the morning. As promised, I received a text at 9:50am with an ETA of 10:05. At 10:05 they were here. Mike and Bridget are so friendly and the work they do is beyond meticulous. They put plastic sheeting up on the walls and floor before they started working and cleaned up before they left. The walls and ceilings were repaired perfectly and the texture was blended to the rest of the wall seamlessly. We will definitely be calling them again for more projects and will be recommending them to all of our friends.

After starting the job Justin complained saying 'this is a lot harder to work with then I thought." Even though I was giving him a $125.00 bonus to do the job on Saturday. He asked for cash and to this date, one month later. He hasn't given me a receipt. I made the big mistake of leaving before they had finished the job. I was notified of a memorial service at the last minute. So I left before they had finished the ceilings. Now I realize I should have canceled and rescheduled the job. Or if I could see into the future I would have never used them to do any work. My disabled son stayed to pay them the cash they requested. I told my son to ask questions. My son told me these guys were mocking him when he asked why they didn't paint the hall. Actually what he saw was they textured over the drywall and left the drywall visible. That is what he was questioning. Also there are peaks and snowdrifts in the spakel which follow no pattern. Justin took a smooth ceiling and made it textured without asking me. Then he didn't finish the texturing up to the edges. I know a professional would not do a job this way. They also left a crease on the ceiling in the hallway and blade marks in the design. It looks terrible. Just to further show the low quality of service. They left a huge mess. My son would never notice they left a mess of drywall dust all over the house. When I left they were done cutting and hanging the drywall. This means the drywall dust all over my house happened from the drapes on the floor. They washed there equipment up in the front yard. So there are large drywall pebbles all over the front yard. I heard from Justin who told me it is normal to let the drywall show through and the mess happened during the process. But he agreed to come and make an attempt to improve the poor spakling he had done... that was four weeks ago. Since then he's 'Canceled' three times. He's just stringing me along. He has no intention of fixing the mess he made. Overall I am very dissatisfied with thier work. I have pictures which I have included. Pictures don't tell stories. I payed 800.00 for this messy work. I have reported Justin to the FL Consumer General for not providing me with a receipt and not completing the job, as agreed.

Light switch had large openings. And when completed I continued to ask for the 20 sheets of unused drywall to be removed so the flooring could be installed. After two + it still was not done. I do NOT RECOMMEND. If I could give NEGATIVE 10 STARS I would…read more I write a few reviews here and there, but I read a lot of them and often base my decisions on them. That is how I ended up with RANDALL CHANCEY DRYWALL. Typically, word of mouth or personal knowledge is the best referral, in my opinion. I purchased a home in a new area, and did not know or have referrals for drywall, texture and paint contractors, so I read a bunch of reviews and interviewed 3 contractors, all with 4.7 ratings or higher. All three were good, all prices were comparable, and I felt comfortable with any of the three. There was a clear first place, but due to scheduling availability, I selected my second choice, Randall Chancey. I'd like to start with the positives. Randall is the BEST at being the WORST. The worst at drywall work, the worst at popcorn removal, the worst at adding knock-down texture and the worst at painting. Randall and his crew were also the MESSIEST workers I have ever seen. I have been a realtor for over 20 years, flipped houses, managed rentals and renovated several of my own homes. I have NEVER, and I mean NEVER had any experience or work product like this in my life. The drywall work was horrible; holes left and painted over; several repairs not done or partially done; holes simply textured and painted; new corner beads (which Randall installed) were not properly mudded in and still visible; and paint inconsistently applied. I specifically mentioned the unfinished drywall work to Randall prior to texture application (holes, skimming corners, etc.) and he told me, he was the drywall expert and, "If I say it's ready for texture, it's ready for texture." The texture is sloppy and inconsistent. Where the popcorn was removed, the seams were not skimmed, so there are visible indentations between drywall sheets, even after texturing. Some popcorn was not removed at all. Randall said he couldn't access some areas - like over cabinets. WOW, never had any contractor say that before. I came by (I lived 90 minutes away at the time) and removed it myself prior to texturing. Another primary component of the job was to remove strips between all drywall panels and mud the seams smooth. Some strips were not removed at all, simply textured and painted over. His crew mixed mud/drywall on my newly painted deck. It is now stained. Randall said, don't worry, the rain will wash it away. WRONG. Same goes for my black driveway, now stained blue, where apparently paint brushes and rollers were cleaned. Although they removed closet shelving, air diverters, and outlet/switch covers - all these items were left uncovered while texturing and painting were done. Some were able to be cleaned and re-used, although very time-consuming. Others, like the air-diverters were so clogged with mud, needed to be replaced. My doors (all of them) were also removed. Same story, and none were labeled, so quite a chore to determine which door fit which frame. AND WHY? Randall did not paint doors or trim, so what was the point? Prep and taping must be new to this "40-yer veteran" of the business - he painted, mudded and textured my sinks, faucets, door hardware, outlets, switches, cabinets, tile floors, tile showers, grout, etc., etc., etc. As far as paint, I supplied Behr premium. But it comes off if you just brush it. Why? DUST. Randall did not cover anything when working, texturing or painting my home. If your walls are covered with dust before you paint them, the new paint, no matter the quality, cannot properly adhere. My floors were so covered, not one panel was salvageable. Full disclosure, at the start of my job, Randall did ask if I was going to replace my floors, I said I was planning to at some point. I didn't realize he would not be covering ANY of them. All my appliances, faucets, fixtures, and even brand-new kitchen cabinets were covered with mud and paint. Multiple light fixtures were broken, so was a smoke detector and some window screens. Randall raised his price twice during the project, making him the most expensive. He brags about his 40+ years in the business but can't properly bid or DO his job. Perhaps he was good at one time and is simply past his prime. After promising to clean up prior to completing his job, he left his entire mess inside and out of my home. And left multiple bags of trash surrounding my entrance door. I had to make three trips to the dump and pay fees on my own. You don't have to take my word for it.
