My go-to place for fresh cold pressed juices/smoothies in Toronto! Juice Box is a hidden, hole in the wall gem run by a cute old Asian couple in the Church Wellesley Village. It's easy to walk right by so just remember that it's beside the Fushimi sushi place. You're always greeted with smiles and nods when you step into the tiny albeit cozy store. I swear by their Cold & Flu Fighter juice when I have a cold - I drank this when I had a heavily congested cold - and then 30 min later all my phlegm came out (not to be gross but I truly recommend this for sinus blockage). Then I was healed in the next 2 days. Honestly blessed. When I'm not sick though, my go-to order is their Vitamina (avocado and papaya). Most avocado smoothies in other places add sugar and then it's too creamy and sugary, but Juice Box fixes that by adding papaya and then zero sugar needed. It's the right balance of sweetness/nuttiness/creaminess. Also for 4.50 a 16oz is really a good deal. ****What really tops the cake for me about Juice Box is when they make more juice than what fits in your cup, they tell you to drink some of it first before they pour the rest of it in there.**** Two things to make note are that they close early (7pm weekdays, 6pm saturdays) and its CASH only! read more

At this point it's highly likely that you're familiar with the cold pressed juice craze. My husband and I refer to this as "ten dollar juice" because you'll be paying at least that much per bottle. It's delicious but certainly not economical. I noticed that blogTO named Juice Box the #1 Best Juice Bar in the city and was immediately curious. You'll find them in the heart of The Village (Church and Wellesley), surrounded by beautifully proud rainbow banners. Appropriately named, Juice Box is about the size of one. This teeny-tiny literal hole in the wall features just enough space to walk in and then rotate yourself to leave - juice in hand. It's quite perfect and adorable, actually. The storefront is bright, albeit small, and the inside continues with this theme. The walls are painted bright orange and the entire shop feels like a fruit stand, with stacks of bananas, boxes of oranges, and baskets of apples right in the entryway. It's the freshest, liveliest hole-in-the-wall that you've ever seen! I visited on a Saturday afternoon and the two staff members (presumably also the owners) were incredibly friendly and cheerful. They were juicin' up a storm and seemed to be loving the juice life! There is a chalkboard menu on the wall and it contains just enough choice to please everyone. You'll find specially-crafted vegetable juices, fruit juices, protein shakes, and smoothies. Of course they're doing shots of things like wheat grass, spirulina, and ginseng as well. It should be noted that Juice Box only accepts cash, so come prepared. I was interested in trying a healthy vegetable blend and loved the sounds of their #1 juice right away: Body Cleanser (Carrot, celery, cucumber, parsley, beet, spinach - $5.00 for 16oz). Once ordered, a staff member whipped up my juice in record time, tossing vegetables into their heavy-duty juicer. It might not be as refined of an experience as the places offering a jewel box of juice-filled glass bottles, but this place feels far less pretentious. I loved the down to Earth nature of it all. And did you catch the price?! There is no competition whatsoever - Juice Box is serving up fresh squeezed juice at a fraction of the cost everywhere else. Any of their vegetable and fruit juice mixes are $4 for 12oz, $5 for 16oz and $6 for 20oz. These prices simply cannot be beaten. I loved my juice!! It was everything that I had hoped it would be. Each vegetable element came through in the flavour beautifully, with carrot at the helm. I enjoy beet in my juices quite a lot and loved the addition of it here and the earthiness that it brought to my cup. The quality was very good, with no fibrous chunks floating around or anything like that. This juice really did feel like it was giving me life. They also make a bunch of other really great sounding juice blends, such as; Cholesterol Reducer, Energizer, and Cold/Flu Fighter. I like that they've got different choices for whatever you feel like you might need for your body. Juice Box is definitely worth a visit. Favorite juice bar, bar none. They can make custom mixes if you like (papaya avocado). No pre-blended juices. They just blend it all in, right on the spot, and if it's too much for your cup take a sip and they'll top it off with the remainder. I come here every chance I get. They're a mom and pop operation, so you will have to to come in during "normal" hours - no late night juice to be found here. By the way, it's a very small storefront. it's easy to miss the place but keep searching! It's worth it. read more

After weeks of sick and germ ridden co-workers polluting our communal office air I began to feel the initial symptoms of the cold & flu beginning to wage war on my body. I decided I was in dire need of a major vitamin C boost so I set about searching for the nearest juice bar. Enter the Juice Box run by the sweetest couple ever! They juice bowls of fresh fruit and veg right before your eyes and even pour the leftovers in a cup for you to drink up. I've tried a number of the juices and smoothies and everything was delicious! I've now started popping by a few times a week to grab a 1litre bottle ($8.50!) of fresh juice to drink over a few days at work. Best deal in town! PS: I definitely recommend the Cold & Flu Fighter if you're feeling under the weather. After feeling initial cold & flu symptoms I felt so much better the next day! read more

In my never-ending quest to find the perfect juice, I may have found my match at Juice Box. Boy do I wish this place wasn't so far from home! (BTW, I'm almost afraid to Yelp this place for fear of it blowing up when I return to Toronto. But I gotta do what I do.) It's a walk in, quaint, cozy little joint. A cute older Asian Couple runs the spot. They've got everything fresh. Pre-cut veggies, fruits, wheat grass, whatever your pleasure. Here's the deal with juice bars these days and why I'm not a big fan of the chains such as Jugo Juice or Booster Juice. a) They use frozen yogurt, which is really not healthy and processed unless non GMO. b) A lot of the fruits are frozen c) It is expensive With regards to this place, it takes cash only but what I like is everything is freshly squeezed and reasonably priced. In addition, the Asian couple that owns it is very friendly. I ordered a 16 oz smoothie that contained almond milk, avocado, papaya and banana for $4.50 tax in. It was delicious, fresh and no fro-yo which is great for those being healthy. Verdict: If you are in the area, good place to check out for fresh healthy juice/smoothies. read more

Wow, words cannot describe how happy I was to finally check this place out. It is a pretty small place, very easy to miss, it is a hidden gem! Very fresh fruit, they make it right in front of you. Most juice places I've been to are filled with frozen fruits and overcharge. This place was super affordable and it seems that they always blend more so they make you drink some from a cup and pour you the rest before they put a lid and straw. Overall, this place is super great, friendly service and I definitely look forward to coming back!! read more

My opinion about Freshii, the good press, and other juice bars that have sprung up around the city is a subpar smoothie/juice + huge markup for the price. Often they contain yogurt which is not exactly lactose friendly and can be unhealthy/poor quality. theyre also extremely expensive (over $10 for a 500ml bottle)?? this place is amazing! It's pure ingredients that they juice/blend right in front of you and the prices are probably the best in the city for juice. you pay $8.50 for 1 Liter. its because this is not a huge chain with the goal of maxing profit, but a really friendly couple who runs an honest business and will even pour the leftovers in a little cup for you to drink! read more

Just got back from a visit to the Juice Box on Church. Fresh, tasty juice and per the comment from 2008, yes, that's correct it is juice. I've visited Booster Juice and while they do the job they're just order takers whereas at the Juice Box you get fresh straight out of the fridge juice and the leftovers are poured into another cup so they don't waste a single drop. Highly recommended if what you want is a fresh tasty juice! read more
