Horrible Horrible Horrible. I bought 100 bucks worth of bags. Drove 40 miles back home. And all of the seafood was over cooked disgusting. Shrimp was slushy. Corn was soft and mushy. Lobster tail was stuck to the shell and only pieces came out. The next day I took the bags back and they said they will only replace the shrimp and a crab leg because I didnt call and I just brought it back in. And I might of got full on the piece of Lobster tail that is missing. Literally the whole bag was there except for that piece of Lobster. Came here on Christmas with my daughter. I can't believe they were busy like that during a major holiday. I guess people had the same thought as me (no cooking or cleaning lol). They are located across from the AMC which was open and busy on Christmas as well so that's probably another reason why it was busy. They had old school R&B music playing, which I absolutely loved! The food was fantastic! We ordered the raw oysters, juicy crab seasoned wings and a seafood boil. They have a happy hour special Mon-Fri from 3-7pm with discounts on cocktails and apps. We ate every drip of food, it did not disappoint. I highly suggest the juicy king crab wings 10/10. Will definitely be back for another happy hour! read more

Coming here for happy hour was such a treat! All the food was fresh and very tasty. I recommend coming at the beginning of happy hour because it does fill up fast closer to the end. Our server was really nice and took care of all our needs. Yeah cause one of them had more chickpeas in it. The one on the top has slice chickpeas and one on the bottom house more I don't really care which one to eat. The one on top has the spinach rice in the bottom is chickpeas and rice. This is easier to talk. I just don't feel like typing. The serving sizes are very filling. The catfish basket doesn't really taste like catfish to me, but it is still tasty. I also think I would rather have the oysters boiled instead of fried. The wings were very tasty and the little orange sauce on the side went well with everything. My biggest complaint is the bathroom. I'm not sure what they can do about the smell, but it is not pleasant when you are trying to enjoy a meal. Decided to come here for dinner. This is in the space of the old Peking Chinese buffet. It's very spacious. From what I've heard, they have some nights where they play music and there is a good amount of people there. They have a pretty good sized menu, with boil bags and fried options. They have happy hour everyday until 7, so that's good for the drinkers and those who like appetizers. I got the K4- which is a half of point of shrimp, half a pound of crab legs, and a half of pound of sausage. I got plenty of shrimp and sausage. I would say it's a good portion for the price. I got the juicy king crab sauce, medium. However, the sauce has no taste really. It's very liquidy but doesn't contain much flavor. Also I wasn't a fan of them serving the bag on plates like that. My waitress was very nice and helpful. She had a good amount of tables, but still was able to get to us whenever we needed. We always order the Tilapia baskets from here. One with regular fries and other with sweet potato fries. Two days ago, I was eating my Tilapia and took a second bite into the filet and the sudden smell of ammonia came from the filet so, I broke another filet in half and the same smell came from it and the second filet basket. When I called the restaurant, I was told it was all fresh and they denied any bad seafood. I brought the baskets back and had her smell the fish. Her face said it all! Now when you can't comment on smelling ammonia in the fish basket, you know you've been caught. If it wasn't for that and her trying her best to fix the issue, I would have quietly walked away from the restaurant. Seafood is a big proponent for allergic reactions, food borne illnesses, and contamination. This could have made someone sick if they ate it all and ignored the smell of ammonia. Checked out Juicy King Crab House the other night and wanted to give you all a little review. We went during the middle of the week so it was very slow, which was OK by me. The host said we can sit were we wanted and they even tuned the TV to what we wanted to watch. So I'm loving the customer service thus far. The restaurant was very roomie with a banquet area for large parties in the back. The bar area looked abandoned, the restrooms needed to be renovated and smelled like a toilet overflowed. I was once told the restroom is a direct reflection of the kitchen area. So, you judge for yourself. They are still offering grand-opening specials of 15% off and free choice of appetizer (chicken wings or popcorn shrimp), so we took advantage of that. Even though the bar looked abandoned, I did see on patron sitting there. They had drafts on sale and a nice selection. Now, the food! Off the bat they don't put sausage in them. That was a big turn-off for me. We ordered a Boiled bag that had claims, crab legs and a tone of shrimp. Two pieces of corn on the cob and about 3 or 4 potatoes for only $45. It was enough to feed two, and we even had some left over. We got the garlic-butter sauce that had a little kick to it. The shrimp was succulent. the claim were plump and juicy but the crabs were skimpy. I mean I understand they're out of season but these crab legs were..........ehhhh. I'm sure they are better in summer season. Juicy King Crab house is the the blood-line of these new seafood boil restaurants. Twisted Crab in Hampton, Shack -n-Crab in Va. Beach and some other place in Newport News are the leaders in the business. In my humble opinion Juicy King Crab is not as good as these. The hubs was craving a seafood boil for dinner. We ventured out once we found out that dine in restrictions were lifted, and the state was transitioning to the next phase. During Covid-era there's masks, and 6 feet seating arrangements involved. Our booth was slightly sticky and wet, but it was wiped down once we alerted our waitress. We perused the menu, and the hubs opted for crab legs, garlic butter flavor with a medium spice level. Both of our boils came with corn, and two small potatoes doused in sauce. I chose a half pound of shrimp with the same seasoning, and a level higher in the spice department. We started our meal with a half dozen raw oysters. It's not bad once it's topped with a little horseradish and hot sauce. I'm talking to the ones that are skeptical of trying raw seafood ;) There were bits of sand in the oyster that didn't escape the wash. Our seafood boil hit our table within 10-15 minutes. The food arrived tied in a clear plastic bag. We were provided with a cute crab bib and gloves. No crab cracker was provided, so the hubs tried his best to open one until our waitress came by. My shrimp was sweet, spicy, fresh, and tasty. I wish there were more potatoes and corn, but that was additional add on cost. To soak up all the sauce, I would've liked some bread. Not sure if it was offered on the menu. We both enjoyed the crab legs. I didn't use the gloves.... But I made sure my hands were clean before digging in lol. We also ordered takeaway another time, and went to town by ordering crab legs, shrimp, add ons of mussels, corn, and potatoes. I highly recommend ordering the add ins for potatoes and corn. It's worth it to make sure none of the sauce goes to waste. Their Cajun seasoning is just delicious, and even their extremely hot spice is not overwhelmingly uncomfortable IMO lol. Since dining-in options opened up, employees are getting used to the new normal, so there are going to be some mistakes and delays in service. A whole cup of water was spilled onto the hubs, I believe due to nerves. So everyone please just be patient, kind, and understanding. Check this place out!! This was my first time here at Juicy King Crab and I ordered the Fried Dinner Tilapia basket that came with 4 pcs and side of fries. You could tell the 4 pcs was just two Tilapia split into 4 pcs, so 2 pcs were meaty and cooked well but the other 2 pcs were thin and overcooked of course. read more

It just opened 2 days ago and boy did we hit the jackpot. This place was amazing! We ordered 2 combos of head off shrimp and dungenes crab, a whiting meal and another cluster of crab. The flavor of the house sauce was so good, I even used the potato and corn to absorb as much as possible. The service was just as impressive as the food. My husband and I wanted to try Juicy Crab for a while. We went on the evening of February 13th. The atmosphere was like a club that just happened to serve seafood. The loud rap music was a distraction from the meal. The customers were loud and just plain ghetto. My husband and I was waiting for the waitress for sometime and as we were about to leave she came to our table and apologized for not coming over sooner. The waitress could really could use some help because she was taking orders at the tables and closing checks of those who were leaving. Getting refills took an act of congress. My wife didn't receive her meal. When we asked the server, she said she'll check. Then we saw her sitting at a table with other workers. About 15 minutes later, she brought my wife's food, at which point we told them to keep it. We had all shared food with my wife. If you have 6 or more people, they're charging a gratuity.
