The scenery from the dining area is gorgeous with mountain views and color. I was impressed with our server, Jennifer, who offered us a pleasing experience. One of my favorite places in North Georgia! The store is so cute too! You need to check it out.

My husband and I stopped in on our way to visit friends. We were the only shoppers there and counted 5 people working including what appeared to be the owner and his wife. Not a single person said hello to us or asked if they could help. She over charged me and then said to check my card it statement in a few days for the correct amount. I had to ask for a receipt. No "thank you for stopping in" or "we appreciate your business" or even "have a nice weekend." Life is too short and there are many many more shops that do welcome customers and appreciate their business. I will never go back again!!! read more

Our first family dinner since Covid & we were not disappointed! We ordered the Apple brie Flatbread & Tuna Sashimi for starters, perfect! The wine list was very nice, had a bottle of Cabernet William Hill. For entrees we ordered Pork Chop, Lamb Chops, fettuccini & the Filet: all cooked to perfection & delicious! Our server, Tina was absolutely outstanding, friendly & so welcoming; we couldn't resist a couple of desserts (Creme brûlée & chocolate cookie skillet w/ice cream) & they topped off a perfect dinner! read more

Very disappointed. Do not waste your time. Have eaten there several times in past few years and WILL NOT RETURN. Went for lunch this week. About half of menu was not available. Blamed it on a new chef but these were basic items. The food is pricey & previously we were ok with that since view is nice. But this place is no longer worth the high prices and poor service. Took over 35 mins just get drinks. Server disappeared and could not be found. They were not busy. No one cared. We just wanted to leave. I don't usually take the time to write a review, but Julep Farms was so much more than we expected! All the cottages are designed so beautifully they could and probably already are in a magazine. The property is absolutely beautiful nestled in the mountains with spectacular views. It has the nicest chicken coop I've ever seen, and just 11miles from Highlands. But the highlight was the restaurant and retail shop. We sat on the patio overlooking the mountains and had a really excellent dinner, including crafted cocktails and outstanding service. I also found several items in the store that I couldn't live without. The next time your on your way to Highlands or near Dillard, stop at Julep Farms for lunch, dinner or drinks and shopping. Nice atmosphere in the bar/ restaurant the farm is so pretty. We have brought our dog in the past sat outside they are very accommodating with dogs. Food is good worth going to try them out. Also gift shop is a great place to shop. read more

This place is nice but for something so new it needs work. and I wish they had better service. Our cottage wasn't cleaned except for the bedding. The cleaning person was still there. The wine glasses were used and had lipstick stains with wine still on the inside. The shower soap was used and the bottles were empty. The showers had a lot of mildew and hair everywhere. The shower head was off and water went over the curtain and onto the floor and toilet. Told the owner it wasn't cleaned but he said it was. Lots of dust on everything. The restaurant also needs better servers. We sat for 20 minutes and not even a glass of water. Then the owner had to come to get our drink order and then again we sat and waited. For almost $300 a night, they should invest in a good housekeeper and better fixtures. read more

Great vision, struggling to execute. We sensed issues when we made the reservation. Instead of the deposit being charged to our card they charged the entire amount of our upcoming stay. There was no turning back! The location and views are great, they need help with marketing and management. When we got into the cottage, instead of finding the information warm and inviting for an upscale cottage experience we were greeted with warnings and threats: If you take a towel we'll charge you $28, if we find a cigarette butt outside we'll charge you $5 per butt, bring a pet inside it's $500 per day, stop up the toilet, another $500. I understand it's a Veteran owned business which we like to support but I don't enjoy vacationing in military housing. The cottages are billed as smart-spaces, just ask Alexa to play music or change the temperature. When we got no response I asked in the coffee shop and was told "they were probably broken or stolen." They're struggling like everyone else with finding employees. It's obvious the current staff are not trained in hospitality. I've stayed at $40/night hotels with better customer service. The food at the restaurant was great but with the same struggles - customers were walking out because they weren't being served. We want to give it another try but they need to make a lot of improvement. read more

Atmosphere is awesome from the time you drive into the farm and this atmosphere is a lot of what you are paying for. Very pricey and not for the regular Joe 's "let's go to lunch or dinner" spot. Special occasions and money to spend. Food is very good. Drinks too but again, very pricey. Quaint shop to meander in but again, the cost is high. Great wandering outside for kids (chickens, cows etc.) but not where you can afford to bring the family for a meal. Appearing to strive to be the Buckhead of North Georgia and if you love paying for atmosphere, food, drinks, novelties, this is your place. read more

After several visits to Julep Farms with our friends and families, we found the staff to be young, inexperienced and lack customer service. The hostess area is an area of women fumbling around, discombobulated of who's on first. Not an organized feel when you arrive. The macaroni and cheese is tasteless and very bland. The crab cakes are small and the taste mediocre. If this restaurant was rated by any of the restaurant ratings like Zagat, the food and the presentation would equate to a 1 star. I wouldn't mind paying for quality but it is lacking here. Julep Farms is trying to fit in with Highlands and present themselves as an upscale dining experience. Build a restaurant and they will come? Not exactly in this case. You have a restaurant on a lot of vacant land and three rental houses and a plastic playground area. Nothing special here. Edit: The owner is a complete jerk and it's clear the lack of customer service starts at the top. We really wanted to see them succeed but we won't return under any circumstance. Wow! We sat outside at the VIP table to celebrate a birthday at Julep Farms. Our server Bartow was outstanding! He was funny, attentive, professional and made sure we were comfortable. The food was amazing and we all loved the new menu options. The Mojo Hangar Steak was delicious as were all the other entree's our guests selected. Can't wait to do it all again.. A beautiful French Rural chic idyllic farm nestled in a valley surrounded by mountains . It's a hidden area not wildly known by outsiders. During recent years, it has been slowly discovered due to the coming up "Napa Valley" of the South. Actually, Disney loved this area. He filmed the Great Train Robbery and Brer's Rabbit ride, Splash Mountain in Orlando, has all the local road names. Oh, and then there's the film Deliverance...okay, enough of this intro! This farm is breathtaking, in accordance with its views! You MUST go!! Take the whole family! There's something for EVERYONE! We had a great lunch, starting , with the Pan Seared Sesame Tuna and Truffle Parmesan fries. Then, we ordered the Pimento Bacon Burgers , Asian Chicken Salad, and two Crab Cake Benedicts. We had to wait 30 minutes for the Whiskey because of some law thing ( too early to serve :D). Everything was fresh and proper. Meaning, it should be enjoyed by any palate. I love this place and will return. Okay, so why didn't I give it 5 stars? Hmmph!! Because, of ONE employee, who was sooo annoying at the store. Yes, they have a store with nice home things. Problem is , they also serve coffee there, and it seemed , they were cleaning them , when this tall elderly blonde woman, showed up, took over , refused to look up at the line, EVER! So I waited, and waited, two people in front, left, lost customers. Then, I watched how other employees came to help her, and she would shoo them away ( micro management). Figure that!! I just wanted to buy something , not get coffee. Finally, I managed to get the attention of one of her shooers who finally rung me up. Hey, I was patient . Listen, I'm no barrista, but on Noche Buena, for 32 people, I make drip coffee, Cuban expresso, and two Vietnamese with sweet condensed milk and the occasional, "Ay, could I bother you for a little Manzanilla tea, I over ate?" One of my very favorite spots to dine, shop and share with Girlfriends.,We have an annual birthday party there every July which happens to fall right in time for zinnia picking! However, now that we live here full time, my family enjoys taking our King Charles Caviliers and sitting on the outside patio as the sun goes down , and enjoying dinners or just cocktails at least once a month. Lauren snd Rick have put together a lovely team who are all striving to provide the best experience possible. Spent the evening around the Julep Farm fire pit. They graciously offered us S'mores but we passed on the offer. It was a cozy and relaxing night and just what these Hurricane Ian ravaged ladies needed. We enjoyed hearing about how Julep came to be from owner, Rick Weaver. He kept our fire burning hot and made sure we had what we needed. I highly recommend having dinner first and then head out to the fire pit on Friday evenings.
