We had a different photographer lined up…read morefor my son's first birthday party but the weather had other plans and the date had to be changed - unfortunately (or fortunately) it meant we had to find a photographer.... within 24 hours. Kristen to the rescue! Kristen came up on a random google search, promptly responded to my email and I crossed my fingers we ended up with some good photos. I could not have imagined what an absolute joy it was to meet her and what amazing memories she captured! It was a small backyard party but Kristen was so professional and thorough - it mattered as much to her as a huge wedding. She was amazing with the small children and even better with the nervous in front of the camera grandparents! Kristen took pictures of every detail, the "big" moments and more importantly the small moments. Having a baby during covid meant that we missed out on capturing some of his first year with family and friends. Thankfully I know have a TON of amazing photos that bring a huge smile to my face whenever I look at them (which is still quite often). I happened to find this company online because I was looking for a male and female duo to shoot our wedding. I wanted the male and female perspective and Alex, and her husband Jay, were just that! A duo who shoots weddings! Alex does have other team members too but for our wedding they were exactly what we wanted. We did an engagement photo shoot with them and had so much fun! The pictures were gorgeous and we felt like they really captured the essence of us. They were with us every step of the process, they are hands on and so committed and passionate about their business. It was truly great working with them. Idalia Photography has a distinct, high quality style... Alex and Jay's photos are light-filled and simply stated: BEAUTIFUL. One of the BEST decisions that we made for our June 2018 wedding was to book Alex and Jay. From the initial Skype interview, to our engagement shoot, to our wedding day, working with Idalia Photography was seamless and effortless. Alex was beyond friendly and professional throughout all of our communications by email and she was always available, flexible, and thorough every step of the way. On our wedding day, Alex and Jay worked seamlessly together and knew each other's every next move... I guess that's one benefit of a wife and husband team! They blended into the background most of the time, but also stepped up to give direction for certain shots and helped us to stay within our schedule as needed. Both Alex and Jay worked smoothly with our other vendors (if there were any issues- we didn't know about them!). They worked outside through temperature in the 90s without complaint or hesitation... and did everything possible to get the "best shot"... including laughing off when I accidently soaked Jay with my celebratory champagne spray (and still managed to capture the shot somehow!). From the details photos of our invitation/jewelry/flowers/venue to my flowing "veil shots" to our dance floor... every moment and emotion of our day was captured. We received about 100 "photographer's favorites" pictures while on our honeymoon (not even one full week after our wedding day!) and we felt like we were re-living our big day all over again. Time for a review update!!…read more My husband and I hired Artist European to shoot our wedding. This was one of the best decisions that we've ever made -- Gerda and Barb are absolute rockstars. Not only are they rockstar photographers but they are also super sweet and incredible to work with. I've been in several weddings and have witnessed several wedding photographers do their thing. I think what really sets Gerda apart is her creativity, enthusiasm and passion. During our wedding day there was never a dull moment. She constantly thinks of new and creative shots and had us, our bridal parties and our families laughing and smiling the entire time. On your wedding day the last thing that you want to do is ask for certain shots (it's so hard to think). Luckily, we had Gerda there to help create every perfect shot. Post wedding we had our preview in less than one day and our USB was ready in less than two weeks. We have nearly 4,000 photos to choose from which is amazing. Photos are obviously one of the most important parts of the wedding day and I am so glad that we worked with Gerda and Barb. They book out far in advance and I truly feel lucky that they were able to shoot our wedding!
