Julie has been our realtor through 2 purchases and 1 sale now, and should we have reason to sell or buy in the future she's the one we'll call. Our first purchase was a condo in Belltown. We knew what we wanted and Julie helped us find it - and then some. On the economic side she helped us eliminate properties that weren't going to resell well (which we might have otherwise seriously considered), and she helped us get the place we wanted for the price we wanted - she just made it all so easy. I met Julie through a friend, another single woman, who could not say enough good things about how helpful Julie had been as she started to explore buying her first home. Julie suggested meeting for coffee. We talked for almost two hours. I knew what I wanted in a home and knew roughly what I could afford. That information helped inform our conversation. Julie walked me step by step through the home buying process. Her patience and passion for ensuring her clients made the right decisions for their lives radiated. She encouraged me to interview at least three agents before making a decision on who I'd work with. She helped me understand all of the nuts and bolts and costs I'd be facing. She encouraged me to scrounge together at least 5% down. I left our meeting feeling encouraged, inspired, and empowered. Julie is part charming Southern gal and part shrewd businesswoman. She has 20+ years experience- that's more than 99% of brokers out there. In our case, and I'm sure in yours too, this will be to your advantage. Put simply, she's the best. It's hard to imagine having a more qualified, hard-working, intelligent, and proactive agent than Julie. She's sweet and personable when you first meet her. She's a good listener and hears what you want and works with you to get it. She's incredibly diligent, working tirelessly (it's amazing how often I had the thought, 'does she care about us getting this house more than we do?' :)) to get you what you want. But she's also a 'master-real-estate-chess player' that sees all the moves ahead of time and works to get ahead of any foreseeable problems. That's a lot of superlatives-let me get more specific. Our home-buying process was a long one, with a lot of negotiations. In our experience, she was always smarter, more experienced, and savvy than the other parties' realtors. She would tell us 'right now, they're going to do ----', or '--- might happen in the next two days, so we need to get on that'... and was almost always accurate in her perceptions of where the deal was. By being pleasantly persistent and asking the right questions, it always seemed like Julie could charm, prod, or guide the other parties in our favor. Needless, to say, we're very happy with her. I can write this review after having worked with Julie twice in a 15 year span. First we used Julie to sell our house in Seattle in 1998 as part of a move to Bainbridge Island. Then last year in 2012, after having moved back to Seattle, we used Julie to help us buy a house in Seattle. In both cases, Julie was always extremely honest and professional. She is upfront about her assessment of the situation, be it on the selling or buying side. She knows the market. In 1998, when the market wasn't so hot and I was selling a house on a busy street, we still priced it correctly and the house was soon sold. In 2012, with the market coming back, Julie was great and sending us information on houses we would be interested in, then after finding "the" house, did a fantastic job working with a somewhat difficult seller agent (and related situation). Julie worked with us for about 5 months during our home search and closing process for our single family home purchase this summer. We've worked with several agents in the past and she compared very favorably to our past real estate dealings. In my experience the things Julie excels at are her wonderful positive attitude and the way she manages the closing process. She also has a good eye for investment potential, and is not afraid to be candid about it. She steered us away from one property (because of location on a busy thoroughfare given we have small kids) that we liked very much even though it meant she could have lost a sale, since it took us a couple of months to find another one we liked. She is honest like that and not all agents are. She knows a lot about certain areas and tells you a bit about the history when you ride with her. She and her staff also are good at going just a little further in the nice department, like sending links to pictures of your new home to share with others, we've moved postcards and stamps, or small gift cards to local restaurants to take the quess work out of where to find a quick bit to eat while moving. My only quibbles are that sometimes she is really booked up and not available on short notice, but I think that has been common lately with realtors given the current market. read more
