There are a lot of signs that I noticed at the beginning but really should have taken them seriously. The doctor always seems to be in a rush. Now, one of my canines is dead (the color becomes grey, and the pulpal vitalilty test also shows it's dead), because she put too much force on it back then. I felt extreme pain on that root back then, but she didn't take any actions and just let me take ibuprofen. There are also a couple of black triangles due to her pulling teeth to the right and then suddenly to the left in just two weeks. One of my molar lost a lot of enamel because of a stupid mistake made by her assistant. I told my current orthodontist that my previous one used to ask me come to visit her very two weeks, because she wanted me to finish the treatment before I left Ann Arbor. My current orthodontist is surprised about two-week visit and finds it scary. I am an adult patient and my bone remodeling is not as quick as children. Even for children, I think visits shouldn't be that frequent. I guess she just wanted to get the full payment from me. Other than that, there were a lot of useless gadgets put into my mouth during the treatments that made the whole treatment really uncomfortable and torturing. For example, the tongue-side buccal tubes on the bottom molars that really irritate my tongue. The "turbos" on top of the molars put on by her assistant on the very first day of wearing braces made me basically not able to bite and eat. She is not a good dentist who really cares about patient. Avoid this doctor for orthodontic treatment. Before you make a decision, at least try visiting others for a comprehensive comparison.

I was also told my 5/1/25 appt needed to be cancelled because there won't be a Dr in the office that day. It's almost laughable. I will call my insurance company/ Aetna tomorrow and see if any complaint can be filed. If you want an erratic dentist office that has a revolving door staff, no hygienist, incompetent billing, and last minute cancellations for your 6 month check up, this office is the place for you.

But I have to say, the COVID precautions at Oak Valley Dental are top-notch. They make sure you're not mingling with other patients as you move through the waiting area to your exam room. Each exam room has an air filter scrubbing the air. My hygienist and dentist are both vaccinated (as am I) and were double-masked. And they streamline the bill paying so you're not waiting at the front desk for payment to process. I was impressed both with how they adapted to the pandemic and to see that the first-rate skill and service I've come to expect from them had not suffered. I came across this one here on Yelp, and I am SO happy that I did. The dentists here referred me to Dr. Pasternak, their oral surgeon. I hate having my teeth messed with and I'm already anxious just going to the dentist for cleanings. Needless to say, I was so nervous about the procedure and possible complications, but she did an amazing job of explaining everything to me and making me feel safe. Some of my wisdom teeth were impacted, so the procedure required more work and was done under anesthesia (by my request, I wanted to be out of it). Everything went exceedingly well, I had no pain during recovery, and the incisions/holes healed with ZERO complications. Two years later I still think back on the experience and how grateful I am to Dr. Suzanne Pasternak for the skill and care she provided. I figured I should write a review since I still feel so strongly. The office staff were amazing too and were very helpful during all of my pre-procedure visits. I had two small molars that had root canals (about 20 years old) that failed. He offers laughing gas for any nervous dental patients. I felt guilty for using it but he was supportive. He is patient. Dr. Dobracki or Dr. Keith, explained the technology. He makes you feel welcome. The friendly, skilled and helpful hygienists, office managers and account - insurance specialists are very helpful. They sent me a detailed receipt when Basic Flex requested it. The hygienists are supportive, skilled, and friendly. My teeth are spic and span after a cleaning. Destin, the therapy dog is a sweetie.
