Every year in April, my family and I participate in the MS Walk at Kliener Park. The MS Society has been hosting the walk at this park for several years now. It's the perfect venue for the walk. There are some walkers who have Multiple sclerosis so the fact that the paths are so easy for their walkers, mobility carts and wheelchairs help them out a lot. Having a nicely paved path for them is so important. I appreciate that there's so many things to do and see at the park. The walking trail of course. The big playground for the kiddos. The big water fountain to sit and chill by. The wildlife having babies and seeing them hanging out at the park. It's hard not to get sidetracked during the walk to look at all the ducklings. Kliener Park is so beautiful and clean. There's always a grip of people here all the time. It's great! People are out, enjoying the sun and getting in some physical activity. I wish I lived closer to this park. I would love to ride my bike down here just to get some fresh air and sun. I do look forward to coming back soon. Hopefully before next year's walk. read more

This place is incredibly HUGE and beautiful! It's one of my new, favorite parks. There are paved sidewalks throughout, a decent restroom, a concessions stand, live music some days, markets, covered areas, trees, the grass is gorgeously green, and there's a pond that's filled with fish. I think there are a few pickle ball courts there, too. It's so big, even if there's a lot of people there, it doesn't feel like it because there's so much space. They also allow dogs in the park, as long as they're leashed. It makes for a lovely afternoon and I would highly recommend a nice, long walk if this park is not somewhere you've been yet. We're new to the area and still discovering new parks, so very excited about this one since it's close to home! read more

Mr. Kleiner's story is an amazing story and while Incan spotlight it here in my review, I would challenge you to read more about Mr. Kleiner next one you visit this stunning park. JMK Memorial Park is a stunning gem for Meridian and the Treasure Valley. We are so fortunate to have the wide open spaces of JMK right in our backyard. There are plenty of walk ways, green spaces, play areas, and places to fish. Every time I visit JMK Memorial Park, I always seem to find something new that I missed on my last walk. My Husky, Kody, loves coming here and visiting with all the people. He's such a flirt and a diva. I can imagine him sitting on the bench overlooking the pond with the fountain and reading Voltaire and flirting with a French Poodle. My only grip about JMK Memorial Park is the over abundance of waste from the Canadian Geese. It's everywhere. It's such a shame many areas of the park are littered with their waste and I am fairly certain, there's little that can be done about it. If only the Canadian geese would pick up afterwards or use lay their waste in a particular area that were not using, they would be awesome but that's not going to happen. We'll just have to live with them and they'll have to live with us. I think Mr. Kleiner would want it to be that way. read more

Big, Beautiful Park! Kleiner Park has something for everyone -- from Jogging/Walking Paths to Children's Playgrounds, from Disc Golf to Bocce Ball and Basketball, from Fishing to large Pavilions and more! The location is great, right next to The Village at Meridian. I also like the slow-speed, one-way traffic route that circles through the park, thus allowing you to get close to your desired area without carrying all your stuff for a long distance. The small hills add a feeling of expansive space while the fountains in the ponds keep the water looking fresh. I rate this park as a local treasure. read more

Beautiful park. Kind of a pain to get there with the predictable bad traffic on Eagle road, but it's pretty awesome.

This park is pretty epic. It's much larger than I was expecting and a great addition to Meridian (conveniently located right next to The Village). There's a band shell for summer concerts, huge play area, covered barbecue area that can be reserved for private parties, and a pond with fish! I think they may also feature family movie nights in the summer months. The only thing the park is missing at the moment is large shade trees--all of the landscaping is very young. This, however, does leave you with vast expanses of lawn in which you may fly a kite unobstructed. So, there's that. Overall, a great place to hang, have a picnic, and do a little fishing. My son caught his first large mouth bass here (smack in the middle of Meridian? Who knew?). Get to it! read more

I'm surprised there wasn't already a listing for this park, which has been around for over a year now, and I'm ashamed I didn't think to mention it before. The summer splash pad has been somewhat of a mixed bag. When they first opened, the paint was too slippery when wet so they had to refinish it. Now it's less slippery, but a little too rough relative to similar splash pads. And yes, it's nothing compared to the splash pad at Settler's Park, but Julius M. Kleiner has a lot of other amenities to offer. There's a playground with swings and slides to suit all ages, as well as covered picnic areas. It's a lot easier to find a shady spot here in the summer. What little shade there is at Settler's is almost always reserved. Like Settlers, it has a fishing pond but it's larger with nice sitting areas just for relaxing. There's also an amphitheater. The real treat that makes this park unique is the hills. Children like to roll down in the warmer months and sled those rare times we get enough snow. I feel very fortunate to have such a great park nearby. read more

Our go to park for picnic on the grass, flying a kite, riding scooters and bikes. This park is fairly new so the paths are smooth paths for little kiddos and easy access by cars. Adjacent to it is a wonderful and always super busy playground that we avoid during pandemic time. But rest of the park allow for comfortably social distancing while still enjoying all amenities of the park. Many fountains and space. Wonderful. read more

Nice park in a great location. Walking distance from The Village. To walk there from the village though, you do need to cross the street at a crosswalk. The park has lots of grassy areas, a basketball court, volleyball court, a playground, a small splash pad, a non-swimming lake, pavilions, restrooms, and a band shell. read more

This is a great new park in Meridian right next to the Village of Meridian. They really put a lot of thought into this park and have a little of everything for just about any situation. The playground for the kids is really cool and modern, there is a place for the kids to play in the water, bocce ball, basket ball, a very nice walking path, a couple ponds, and an amphitheater. This summer they have started using the amphitheater to do concerts in the park which are really fun. They have vendors there so you can buy food and they allow alcoholic beverages in the amphitheater so you can enjoy a cold one wail listing to the band. My wife and I had a great time and will definitely be going back. The best part is that the play ground is right next to the amphitheater so our kids can go play and still be in eye sight wail we enjoy the concert. It really is a great evening out. read more

This review is not for the whole Kleiner Park, which is a very nice park for kids and adults (and would get a 4 or 5 star rating), but for the inclusion of this park in the off leash dog category by Yelp. It they had a zero star, I would give it for this category. There is NO enclosed area for off-leash running of dogs. For a temporary trial, the Meridian Parks (MPRD) allowed certain areas around the lake to be an off-leash area for dogs. It appeared that this was an experiment to try and drive geese off the grass and paths and to minimize the goose poop. At times, it became a veritable mine field for humanoid walking in those areas when geese called it their home. However, there is no "official" language in the MPRD for Kleiner Park web pages saying whether this has been continued or not. (I would assume not.) In any event, I would not trust my dogs to run off leash in this park unless you were 210% assured of them being under unerring voice command. A dog with high prey and hunting instincts is liable to chase wildlife or other animals. With moving cars, this is a prescription for doggie disaster. Currently there is no dedicated off-leash dog park in Meridian. Plans for a new dog park at Storey Park are in the works, but that will not be until at least 2015. Review the Nampa Dog Park for the current best dog park in the area. Beats anything in Boise and if Meridian does it right, their new dog park should give the Nampa one a run for its money. read more

I can't believe I haven't provided a review for Kleiner Park yet!?!? We absolutely hands down love this place!!! The playground area is perfect to kids 2 to 12 as most places are. However, a couple weeks ago, we showed up to play on the playground but were blown away with the Splash Pad being turned on. What?!?! There was water and kids everywhere! Our son LOVED the water flowing everywhere. There was water shooting here, water shooting there and umbrellas of water to stand under. Boy he had a ball! Summertime at Kleiner Park is amazing! Have a ball if you dare. read more

Great park, lots to do, open plan. Kids area is good, water pad VERY COOL. Band shell for music nights, shelters for rent through the city. The senior center is ok, attended a wedding in there. read more

Found this place off a hotel recommendation while driving through Boise. Beautiful park, lots of places to walk. I went there to walk my dog (who was a bit nuts after the car ride) - very well marked paths for walking, there is an off leash dog space designated for big dogs and then also little dogs, as well as playground for the kiddos. read more

The snow removal on the paths is not being accomplished. I enjoy visiting this park. It is difficult to walk on the snow and ice covered sidewalks. read more
